The Hideaway is a romantic little 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom efficiency cabin in Wrightwood, just 5 miles to Mountain High Ski Resort and even less to Navitat ziplines -- with discounts to both available to our guests (see below).
The Hideaway is perfect for a romantic getaway for 2, a solo retreat for 1, or a couple good friends that don't mind sharing a small space. Larger groups can book it together with our other cabin, Little Pines, which is on the same property.
The Hideaway's cozy bedroom has a romantic canopy. The living area has a futon plus a wall-mounted fireplace (burns gel fuel cans -- but an antique wood stove is coming soon) and flat screen TV with DISH and DVD player, as well as WIFI.
The kitchenette has a unique custom concrete counter, a half-time convection and microwave oven, a one-burner cooktop, and a 3/4 sized refrigerator plus dishes, utensils, toaster, rice cooker, waffle maker, coffee and espresso makers, etc.
The cute little bathroom has an oversized shower; towels and toiletries provided (as are all bed linens). Pedestal sink, views of mountains from bathroom window.
The deck sits under pine trees with a view of the mountains, and has a table and 4 chairs plus a large gas BBQ for grilling.
The garage (not used for parking) has a washer, dryer, bikes, sleds, lots of board games, over 250 DVDs, and a relaxing 2-person wooden sauna with steam rocks!
Short drive or long walk to town. Short walk to hiking and sledding. Easy to find the cabin. Arrive anytime; after booking we'll provide the key code to let yourself in. Have fun!

We LOVED "The Hideaway!" The cabin is just the right size for two people to spend a cozy, quiet weekend together. The wood-burning stove and the sauna next door are particularly wonderful amenities. Wrightwood is a charming town and the surrounding Angeles National Forest is nothing short of spectacular. If you are returning to LA I highly recommend taking Hwy 2 all the way to enjoy the scenery.
One small complaint: when we arrived, sheets were not provided for the bed. We ended up using the spare sheets (meant for the futon) on the bed and our t-shirts as pillow covers. Other than that, we had a truly lovely time and look forward to returning.
This was a very cozy place, tastefully and wonderfully appointed. The owners take great care to explain how to use and access everything. We had an amazing hike to Pine mt. and the locals were super warm and friendly when we went into town for food and supplies. This would be better suited to a couple only, as it was a bit tight with two kids too. But our family can adapt to small spaces so we had a lovely time and stepped carefully.
The cabin was so beautiful and perfect for us and the location is amazing aswell!! Really enjoyed my time here and I had the pleasure of meeting Barbara and Stuart which was great and they were lovely people!! As I didn't travel with any ski clothes Stuart kindly had some for me when I arrived there, which was a great weight off my shoulders!! Definitely a place I would recommend and stay anytime if your looking for fun, family, friendly and relaxing time then wrightwood and the cabin would be ideal for anyone of any ages! Thanks again Adam and Alanna x
