Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Our home is on a 4-acre lot on High Rock Lake. The guest space is a fully furnished guesthouse above a detached storage area (15 steps). The bedroom has a king-size bed and TV, the den has a full sofa, recliner, and TV with HD antenna​ & Netflix - NO CABLE. There is a full kitchen, bath, washer/dryer​ and​ walk-in closet. There is a small deck with a ​table and chairs overlooking the lake. Guests have access to the pier, 2 kayaks, canoe, swing, firepit, grill & gardens. ​We DO have WiFi.​​

The space
High Rock Lake was created in 1929 and is the second largest lake in NC. The lake serves as a boundary between Davidson and Rowan counties and we are located on the Rowan County side of the lake.

Guests have access to our private pier, kayaks, canoe and life jackets. Swim at your own risk and NEVER SWIM ALONE. We DO NOT have a boat ramp, however, there is a public boat ramp at Tamarac Marina and at the Wildlife Access, both ½ mile away.
Guests are welcomed to tie their boat at the pier and we have ample parking for a trailer. Please let us know in advance if you will be bringing a boat/trailer.
We have an outside fish cleaning area.

Tamarac Marina has pontoon boat and tube rentals. Hill’s Minnow Farm, 2 miles away, is a sporting goods and convenience store that specializes in Crappie Fishing Supplies.
NC Fishing Licenses and gasoline may be purchased at Tamarac Marina or Hill’s Minnow Farm.

We both enjoy gardening and have turned our traditional lawn into paths that meander through many different gardens – veggie, fruit, shade, pollinator, bog, water, etc. We have added plants that attract many different butterflies, bees and other pollinators. We feed the birds year-round and provide houses for many species. The lake also draws many migratory birds through our area. We have a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature.

We are perfectly located for day trips to Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Raleigh, and even the NC mountains.

Our property is 4-acres and guests are welcomed to walk around all of the outdoor spaces. They are welcomed to pick any fruit, veggies and herbs from the gardens.

Guests can use the pier and we have towels, floats and chairs that can be used at the lake. There are 2 kayaks, canoe and life vests available for guests. The fire pit with accent lighting (wood provided) can be enjoyed and ingredients for s'mores is also provided. The wooden swing by the lake is the perfect place to enjoy the lake on hot afternoons.

The lighted lake shelter has tables and a gas grill for you to enjoy a relaxing meal.
Outside fish cleaning area is available for your use.

NC Transportation Museum (11 miles) was once Southern Railroad's largest steam locomotive repair facility on the east coast. It features railroad, aviation, and automotive exhibits. The 37-stall roundhouse is the largest remaining roundhouse in North America. A train ride gives​ a narrated tour of the site.

Salisbury (11 miles), the county seat of Rowan County, is the oldest city in the western half of NC. It is named after Salisbury, England – deed dated Feb 11, 1755 - and known for its historic preservation and blossoming cultural arts. There are several walking and driving tours which explore many of the historic sites. Piedmont Players Theatre, Lee Street Theatre and​ Salisbury Symphony Orchestra provide a full schedule of entertainment. Waterworks Visual Art Center has revolving exhibits. Salisbury has four colleges – Catawba College (Center for the Environment), Hood Theological Seminary, Livingstone College, and Rowan-Cabarrus Community​ College.
