Look across to President Harry Truman's home, just as his secret service detail once did while occupying this historic house from 1970 to 1982. The home retains its historic character, plus latter-day luxuries like a 50" TV and bathroom with rain shower and clawfoot tub. Other upgrades include a modern kitchen and a dining table suited for both seating 8 and a competitive game of ping pong.

The space
The home has been recently renovated to offer modern amenities while still showing its historic character. The downstairs offers a living room, large dining room (including a ping pong dining table), full kitchen, full bathroom, and two bedrooms with queen beds. Upstairs includes a small office area along with a queen bed. It also offers a private bedroom with a queen bed, and a new bathroom with a walk-in shower and clawfoot tub.

Each bedroom offers nightstands with power to charge your devices. We have added sound machines to three of the bedrooms to help with unfamiliar noises while sleeping.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire home including a living space, large dining room, three bedrooms, secondary living space with a desk, two full bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a nice backyard.

Walk under 10 minutes to the many shopping, dining, and entertainment options in and around Independence's historic square. Visit the Harry S Truman Home and Museum, with other historic sites nearby. Downtown Kansas City is an easy 20-minute drive. Other nearby attractions include the Chiefs Stadium, the Royals Stadium, Silverstein Eye Center Arena, and World's of Fun.

The home is walking distance from several restaurants, shopping, bars, and parks. It is also easily accessible by Uber and Lyft. The train station and bus stop are also a short 5 minute drive away.

The home sits directly across the street from the Harry S Truman Home & Museum. At times the street can be busy as tourists come to tour/see the home. At it's busiest this is usually 5 cars at a time.

Please note that this home does sit at a 4-way stop. Traffic can often be heard because of its location.
