lovely loft in the heart of pelourinho historic centre of salvador de bahia
This cozy studio apartment is located very close to the famous historic center of Salvador da Bahia, in the northeast of Brazil. It offers a simple kitchen with a small stove and refrigerator, a fan, a bar with 3 bar stools, a small table with 2 chairs, lots of space to hang or lay clothes, a bathroom and a separate shower room, and 2 single beds that can easily be turned into a one king size bed.
The famous Pelourinho square is just down the street, and can be seen from the two front windows that offer a wonderful view on the historic city and the street downstairs. Since there are windows in the back too, the apartment always stays fresh, even when it is hot outside. You will hardly need the fan!
The apartment is on the second floor of a walk-up building. Downstairs is an art gallery. Restaurants, bars and small stores are all in walking distance. All monuments of great historical value like museums, theaters, churches are located in the Pelourinho area.

**** Special World Cup Football: June 12 - July 13, 2014
per night € 95,-. Price for a longer stay after consultation.
Salvador will host six games of the World Cup 2014 in the brand new Fonte Nova stadium, with a capacity of 56,000.
The apartment is situated at a short distance from the Fonte Nova stadium, but still in the historic center of Salvador.
Andrea was easy to communicate with and the apartment was even better than the photos. We had a wonderful time staying here and would recommend it to anyone.
It was very safe - you have to unlock 3 doors to enter - and it never got too hot even though it was the middle of summer. It's inside of the historic center, which means it's surrounded by amazing cultural character and things are open later than the rest of the city. (It also means prices are a bit higher than local markets but some argue that it's a trade-off for a safer neighborhood.)
A special shout-out goes to Anne, her business partner. She spoke perfect English, picked us up from the airport, recommended a gorgeous beach for us to visit, gave us food when we were hungry late at night, made herself available to us, made everything very smooth through clear detailed explanations, and even worried about us when we were very late and couldn't answer our phones. Thank you, Anne, for taking such great care of us!
Andrea's apartment in Salvador was incredible! It was perfectly located, close to the historic centre in one direction and some brilliant local restaurants and a supermarket in the other. We were three friends travelling and the apartment was nice and spacious for all of us, beautifully decorated and equipped with all we needed. Andrea's friend Anne was very helpful in getting us from the airport and into the apartment and giving us tips for our stay, including arranging some tours for us last minute through her tour agency. Definitely recommended for a great time in Salvador!
Nice little studio on the Main street of Salvador - Pelourinho. Spacious and self contained with Wifi. Peaceful and safe & secure.
Anne the caretaker who also runs a travel agency below is extremely helpful and arranged my transfers and tours and gave me tips on what to see around the city.
Yes I would reccomend this apartment to travellers.
Thank you Anne and thank you Andrea !
We enjoyed our trip to Salvador. The studio apartment was in a good location with lots of nice restaurants & a few shops near by. It was easy to get around the pelourinho on foot. The owner has two apartments in the building and we were initially placed in the apartment not shown in the photos but then had a problem with the toilet so we were moved to the one in the picture which was better equipped and had a nicer feel as it was lighter.
Both apartments have nice furniture and art work around but are a bit run down e.g poor shower, old Lino floors, broken crockery and didn't provide basic things like soap in the bathroom and a t-towel in the kitchen.
We paid a lot to rent this apartment (over triple the normal price) as it was during the World Cup, the inflated price did not represent good value. With hindsight we should have stayed in a pousada as they would have been cheaper, more comfortable and we didn't end up cooking at home. The local shops didn't have much in the way of fresh produce so it was that easy to by stuff for cooking. For the rest of our two weeks in Brazil we stayed in guest houses or small hotels and this worked out better as we got a big tasty breakfast included in the price.
A lady called Anne is the contact for the apartment in Salvador and she was friendly and particularly helpful when there was an issue with the broken toilet and when we needed to get back into the first flat as we'd forgotten something there.
Over all I think compared to other places we stayed this place was over priced.
We enjoyed very much our stay in Andrea's loft. The apartment has an open plan with a half wall to separate the single bed from the two adjoined twin beds and the hammock by the windows. It is stylishly decorated and the owner took care in many details. Anne manages for the owner and she is very professional.
The location is very convenient to everything in Pelourinho and in the other direction to Santo Antonio, a nice open space where you can see the bay from one side of the street (behind or in between houses). There are several little markets, on same block or a few minutes away.
The apartment was very well situated. Nice place, comfortable and very near of everything. I recommend this place to everyone.
