In the area where our most important writers lived and wrote books such as El Quijote. The apartment is located in the best possible base for exploring Madrid.
A direct bus 10 minutes walk far from to the airport and to Atocha Station. The apartment has very good public transport communication in case you want to leave the Center, but almost anything interesting is within a walking distance from the apartment.
I speak English. I have lived in Edinburgh for 2 years and a half and in Providence (Rhode Island) while I worked at Brown University for 5 months. Besides, I can give you a lot of advices about what to visit to get to know the real Madrid.
I hope you have a great time in this apartment! Please, if you have any questions, contact me and I will help you in everything I can.
Monica was a wonderful host - very communicative and flexible ahead of our visit, helpful upon arrival and offered great suggestions for local favorite restaurants, etc. The apartment itself is wonderful and is in fantastic quiet location but close to the best parts of the city (for this group of regular visitors to Madrid) and the Reina Sofia and Prado museums. We are very happy to have found Monica and her apartment and look forward to staying there again in the future.
My experience with Mónica was very good. She was there to receive me when I arrived, and if I had a problem or a question she was always a phone call away. She is a lovely person. I felt genuinely content in the apartment, living up where the pigeons and doves fly and call out in the morning! If on the one hand the apartment seemed too pricey, on the other, it was almost always peaceful and quiet almost (no cars are allowed c/ Almadén), and that is worth money to me. The area simply cannot be topped: minutes from the Caixa Forum and the Reina Sofía, a fifteen minute walk from the Prado and Sol. I don't think I could stay here in July or August, as it is an "ático" without an air conditioning unit. But it was a happy place for me in the month of May.
Had a wonderful family vacation at this cozy, clean and very centrally located apartment. Monica was a great host waiting for us upon arrival and answering emails before the trip. The apartment had everything we need and Monica was very thoughtful in providing various information and even buying birthday candles and a sweet gift for my dad's birthday. The apartment is literally three minute walk from Paseo del Prado, and five to ten minute walk from all the main museums, Atocha train station and ten to fifteen minute walk from Santa Ana Plaza. The street on which apartment is located is very quiet and is also close to a great gourmet market that Monica recommended. The balcony decorated with lovely planted flowers is awesome and perfect for breakfast or a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing. The apartment had comfortable beds, plenty of linens, and a nice shower. Highly recommend the apartment and would come back any time. (Hopefully soon :) !)
Monica's flat is gorgeous and perfectly situated for exploring Madrid. It's just a few hundred meters from Atocha rail station, where the airport bus stops too. Monica was the perfect host; having already ensured we could get from the airport to the flat, she was waiting for us when we arrived and provides all the essentials - linen, towels, shower gel & shampoo - as well as some snacks to keep us going until we could get to a shop. The flat is bright and airy, beautifully presented and was perfect for our small family. We spent five days in Madrid and were able to walk everywhere we wanted from here. The three major art galleries are really close and Park del Retiro is just across the main road. I can't recommend Monica and her apartment more highly and would definitely stay here next time we're in Madrid!
Mónica was an excellent host. Her apartment was great for our family of four, and located a short walk from some of the city's best sights and museums. Would definitely recommend! She also provided perfect directions to her apartment. Wonderful area of Madrid. So happy with our stay!
Everything is perfect at Monica's place. I have been traveling with air bnb for many years, and this the best apartment I have ever stayed in. It is lovely, well decorated, there is a lot of light. It is super quiet (light sleepers, you bill be happy). It is very clean and you will find anything you need. The shower is amazing and the house is well heated (important during winter). The neighborhood is fantastic, full of bars and restaurants + museums very close by. Monica is always available and answer all the questions you could have. It is definitely a place to stay at if you go to Madrid.
We are very enthousiastic about Monica and her appartment. She mailed us all the info we needed. She was in the appartment when we arrived , recieved us very friendly. The appartment is comfortabel, clean and good equiped . A very good shower. The beds are comfortabel . It is a very quiet location just behind the Caixa Forum and the Reina Sofia museum.
Conclusion: a very good place to be in Madrid and thank you Monica for your hospitality
Bravo ! Nathalie F
Monica and Emilio were wonderful hosts. This is a wonderfully bright apartment which is very convenient for seeing the historic heart of Madrid. We had a lovely stay. The shower is awesome.
Everything about the apartment was perfect. From the location, to the quality ofnthe apartment to the ease of communication with Mónica. Highly recommended and will stay here again my next trip to Madrid.
