Susan's cozy little home on a hill in the gorgeous woods of Vermont was absolutely perfect! We had everything we needed to rest fully, cook deliciously and relax to the extent that we didn't want to stop. Susan was so sweet to wait up for us after we sat in terrible traffic leaving NYC and to make sure we felt safe at home upon our arrival. We explored the breathtaking forest path, ate a delicious meal at Worthy Burger (Susan's recommendation) and lit the home with tea lights at night. Thank you to Susan for sharing such a lovely home with the world. If you need a place to center yourself and be reminded of the perfection of nature and calm in its purest form, then this is the spot.

Susan was great! We loved her place and found it very warm, cozy and cute. It was a beautiful property, with clean linens, plenty of light and the most amazing tub/shower ever! There's a skylight over the tub! Tunbridge is a sleepy town, as are most of the towns in the area. Not a ton of activity going on, but that's kind of the point of a rental like this. One should note that there's currently no wi-fi internet access at the house, but we found that rather refreshing (we read a lot of books during our stay). All in all, a very pleasant experience and highly recommended!

Susan was such a wonderful host-- it was a treat to stay in such a beautiful little cabin! Not only did she accommodate my late arrival, but she woke up early to make coffee and breakfast before heading out each day. I highly recommend this as an escape into quiet, peaceful, rural VT for a weekend or longer. Thanks, Susan!

What a great experience we had at the "secluded house on the hill". We are so glad we stayed there on our way from NH to Montreal. The house is great, the patio lovely. We went on several walks around the area and enjoyed driving around and visiting neighboring farms and South Royalton. Thank you Susan!

This is a wonderful place. The building itself is understated, crafted with consideration, and full of character. It's very simple, pleasurably minimal, and with lots of little architectural quirks. The real amenity, of course, is its seclusion and the lovely little outdoor spaces – the patio, the fire pit. With tons of screen windows and doors you can really let the fresh air in, and with its low ceilings and small rooms it's cozy at night. Susan was a great host – stayed up late to meet us when we were stuck in traffic, left some simple provisions in the fridge, and was both inviting and at the same time non-invasive, leaving us to ourselves to enjoy the place once she'd shown us the basics. It's a good place to use as a base to explore, to come back to and have nice nights of cooking or reading. Lots of good spots for morning yoga. Not built for a big crowd, it's a great intimate getaway. This area of Vermont is something special too – it is not tourist Vermont, though there's tons of beautiful terrain (and tourist VT is not so hard to drive to). The only drawbacks I'd note are that the furnishings (beds, chairs, curtains) are very basic – it's more of an affordably-furnished rental than lived-in home, and certainly not some richly-appointed retreat. The photos are accurate, though, and so long as you're not expecting anything more than they promise I think you'll enjoy it to the fullest. A great trip. Hope to return sometime.
