Shaun was the perfect host, making us feel welcome and providing us with everything we could possibly need! He brought in stronger internet when the kids and I wanted to stream a movie, and left some delicious snacks in case we arrived hungry -- and with two teenage boys that was incredibly helpful. We felt completely at home and safe. He also told us about eateries we never would have found on our own. We were going to go be tourists in the City, but ended up hanging out in the East Bay to be closer to "home," where we enjoyed hanging out on the deck together and enjoying the Bay. We will definitely come back!!
Shaun was a super host. Gave us what we needed to know to enjoy his hospitality. He was available in case of questions, but otherwise knew we wanted to be alone. Will definitely stay on his comfy boat again. And when he's finished working on his fabulous sailboat, we hope it'll be available as well.
This was my second stay with Shaun. As before the boat was cozy, immaculately clean and very relaxing. Shaun is a tremendous host, helpful, easy going and welcoming. I look forward to my next stay.
Shaun was incredibly welcoming to my nephew and me. Shaun was warm and enthusiastic despite the fact we arrived on the later side. Shaun took the time to talk with my 11 year-old nephew and even took him on a ride around the Coast Guard island on his dingy. My nephew was of course full of questions and Shaun was incredibly kind and fully engaged with him.
The boat was perfect. It was quiet and cozy. The location is a short drive from the Oakland airport, and also to Jack London Square in Oakland, or hop on the freeway to SF. The BART is right down the road so you can park and take the train in too.
My nephew is planning our return trip next year!
This was an excellent experience. Shaun's communication was responsive, "just enough" and friendly. The aft deck of this sunny yacht ended up being one of our favorite spots in Oakland (we shucked oysters to the half shell for sunset and the coffee press and blankets for sunrise are already on-board). We recommend bikes or vehicle. Our rented bikes allowed us access to BART (Lake Merritt Station) in about 15 minutes from the boat, and from there the possibilities endless. In one long weekend from this base camp with only bikes we spent time in downtown Oakland (picnic lunch at Lake Merritt!), Berkeley (Chez Panisse...wow, one of the best in the land), San Francisco (picnic in Aquatic Park, biked the bridge, and Chinatown), and places between. Truly fantastic. Thank you Shaun.
Shaun was a great guy, very down to earth. As for the boat--more than we expected. Perfect location, beautiful, clean, and cozy. We actually opted to stay on the boat all nite rather than go out, perfect weather to sit out back and relax. We will be back. Thanks shaun!
Shaun is the ideal host. This is our first stay on a yacht and we completely enjoyed the experience. Life in the marina is relaxing and comfortable. The 'Celion' is well designed and appointed, with plenty of room, and privacy for three. Shaun had no problem with one of our friends from the area staying a night, and there was still plenty of room. Shaun's friendly and welcoming demeanour heartened us to be guests rather than customers.
