The space
Browns Shepherd Hut offers a rustic, tiny house experience. It features a double bed and an ensuite shower with compost/waterless toilet, a small folding table for dining indoors, and a small kitchenette. Water is from mains supply and is safe to drink. There is heating and hot water.

Location of property: Off A21, convenient for visiting local attractions. 2 mins drive or 15 mins walk to village, train station and bus stop. Village has a café and bakery, shops, pubs, restaurant, surgery, pharmacy, post office and vet. Please expect some traffic noise.

Location of shepherd hut within property:
Situated within a fenced in, dipped and small wooded area. Access is via a sloping walkway ramp off our driveway. Please see photo of property layout and boundary.

Shared area: This wooded area is shared with guests at Browns Shack Cabin. The shepherd hut and shack cabin have separate areas with own fire bowl and outdoor dining space. Guests share access to the 'tree house' viewing platform in the wooded area.

Restrictions: Non-staying guests are not permitted on the property. Guests should be mindful and respectful of other guests and wildlife who share the space. No outdoor music allowed. When using the fire bowl, please be considerate of others upwind. Frequent/incessant burning is not allowed.

Heating and hot water: A compact Hobbitt multi-fuel burning stove, and heated towel rail in shower/WC. An electric boiler provides hot water for a shower. Portable infrared for extra heat. Electric blanket.

Indoor kitchenette facilities: Sink, portable double cooker, kettle, toaster, cafetiere, cutlery, crockery and utensils, and a small, under counter fridge.

BBQ: BBQ unit and utensils provided for cooking outdoors.

Fire Bowl: Opposite the hut is a fire bowl for exclusive use by hut guests only.

Fuel: Starter supply only of briquettes for Hobbitt stove, kindling and logs for fire bowl, and charcoal BBQ. We do not sell fuel. If you require extra, bring your own or purchase from village country store, or nearby supermarkets/petrol stations.

WiFi: Available at property however weak in wooded area.

Sightseeing in 1066 Country: We recommend driving to enjoy the various attractions of 1066 Country High Weald AONB. E.g. 15 mins drive or less to Battle Abbey, Bodiam Castle, Pashley Manor Gardens, Darwell Wood, Scotney Castle and Carr Taylor Vineyard. 30 mins drive to Rye, Hastings, Camber Sands beach, Chapel Down Vinery and Herstmonceux Castle. Taxis/hackney cabs must be booked well in advance.
