My husband & I spent our honeymoon at Becky's by the Sea and had a fab time. Davette was very welcoming and was full of tips on where to visit and where to eat.
We booked the room with the ensuite bathroom which was very nice & clean.
The location of this guesthouse is just perfect! The beach opposite is one of the best on the island in my book. We hopped over for a swim in the sea pretty much everyday and it's also a great spot to watch the sunset.
With a bus stop right outside, a supermarket within walking distance from the house and car hire companies willing to deliver here we had everything that we needed to enjoy and explore the island.
The only negative is the Mosquitos but you will find these everywhere in Barbados. I wish I had taken B1 vitamins prior to our visit to repel the little blighters!
All in all a great place to stay & we would definitely stay here if we go back.
Thanks Davette for all your hospitality!
We had a lovely stay with Davette. She was a most welcoming hostess with a super ability to make all of her guest feel part of her family. She obviously takes a personal interest in all her guests. We recieved lots of help and information to get the most out of our experience. The room was very comfortable and clean, great ensuite bathroom. Road out front is quite noisy and busy but gives an opportunity to be exposed to the local pulse and very handy access to public transit. Beach across the street is beautiful, as nice as any on the island with perfect swimming, long stretches for walking and lots of opportunity to see the turtles. Davette set us up with a great day of diving and snorkelling which was a highlight, along with a beautiful dinner on our last night enjoyed on the front porch. We would go back in a heart beat and recommend it to any of our friends as a refreshing option from the resort experience.
We stayed with Davette for 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The master en suite room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and was light and airy. Davette was a great host and incredibly welcoming. We were free to use her wonderful house, including the stunning roof terrace giving views across to the sea. Although breakfast was not included in the price, each morning we woke up to Davette having baked for us, which was a lovely addition. Davette was also able to provide fantastic advice about what to do whilst we were in Barbados and helped us rent a car for the day. Becky's is in a great location, close to a gorgeous beach and Holetown or Bridgetown are easily accessible by bus. I would definitely recommend staying here and we will be returning if we come back to Barbados.
If you're looking for an authentic Bajan experience, stay at Becky's. The house itself is lovely and the beach across the road, which you often have all to yourself, is a little piece of paradise. Regular host Davette was away during our stay, but her good friend Jenny was a wonderful deputy - our cab driver from the airport said that the best thing about Barbados was the people, and Jenny encapsulated everything great about the people on the island. She really did make us feel incredibly welcome and was so helpful throughout our stay. We hope to return to this beautiful place one day, and will be sure to stay at Becky's again if we do.
My trip to Barbados was great and Becky’s by the Sea had everything to do with it! I was looking for a relaxing get away and that is exactly what I got. I’ve been to Barbados before where I stayed at a resort. This time I wanted to get more familiar with the Bajan culture and the people, as my family is from Barbados. Becky’s by the Sea is the perfect location for doing that. I had access to everything you would need, including the beach which is right across the street. It didn’t hurt that Davette was well known in the community with regular visitors to chat and see the island with.
As soon as I met Davette, I felt like I was meeting family and that only developed as I stayed with her. She is very generous with sharing her knowledge about the island and ensuring you have access to what you desire. I enjoyed our time on the porch together, chatting about Barbados, New York and any and every topic that came up. Davette has a great team of friends behind her, Malcolm and Jenny, that made my trip memorable. So much that it was sad to say good bye!
I look forward to staying with Davette again. You should go book your next trip with her right away!
Staying with Davette was a wonderful experience! She made us feel at ease the entire trip. Helped us plan out our itinerary after we arrived including: swimming with the turtles, scuba diving, going to eateries, visiting St. Lawrence Gap, Oistins Friday Night Fish Fry, touring the entire island, and making some of the best rum punch. Staying with Davette was like staying with a family friend. We were fortunate to meet a few of her friends and luck enough to share a meal or two. Our room was spacious, well kept, and it was great that we had air conditioning (Sometimes you just need a break from the heat). Barbados was great, but was even better with Davette's help. We will definitely be back!
How can I capture the wondrousness of staying with Davette in a short comment box? I can't imagine what our trip would have been like without adventuring around the island with the one and only Davette. Our times spent with her out and about and on her heavenly porch were beyond a doubt the highlight of our trip. And everything else about our trip was great too, so that's saying something! You can't ask for more than a spacious, lovely, comfortable, private room and a fast new friend, fully committed to showing you a hell of a good time.

I am a former resident of Brooklyn, New York, now living in Barbados for the past five years. I love what I am doing and have been told I do it well. I am available to answer questions, make suggestions, give directions and even accompany my guests around the island. I can guarantee you a true Bajan experience.
Becky's is a single owner occupied private home, located just 50 yards from the beach where there is great snorkeling, very close to public transportation, restaurants and rum shops are right up the road, down the road, all over the island.
I love it when I have someone to cook for, so you may wake up to my potato egg casserole, some fresh baked bread, or you may come in from a island touring and find I made you some bajan fish cakes along with a glass of rum punch.
Would love to host you and show off my beautiful island.
