Interaction with Guests
Other than welcoming the guests and giving them keys the apartment is completely self contained.
Use Tree Top as a base to enjoy the region’s many attractions or just unwind in the beautiful lakeside location, which is internationally recognised as an area of special scientific interest with its protected populations of otters and swans. We often see deer swimming in the lake in autumn and spring.
With direct access to the lake by canoe or boat (available on site for hire or bring your own and leave it on our jetty during your visit), you can stop off for a picnic lunch on one of the many islands. Visit Gad Island with its look out tower, Crom Castle with the largest Yew Tree in Ireland or Inish Rath, an island with the original Land Steward’s house for the Crom Estate. Fish from the jetty or enjoy the papers from the patio area of your apartment.
Bring the bikes and explore some of the Kingfisher Cycle trail which runs past the entrance gates to the cottages, or cycle off road in Crom, Florencecourt, Castle Archdale or Blessingbourne.
The nearest public transport links are Lisnaskea and Derrylin, both approx 5mins away. Belfast is 1hr 20mins away and Dublin is 2hr away. A car is recommended to get the best out of the area.
Other Things to Note
The ground floor of the apartment has a permanent residence but this is entirely separate.
The house is non-smoking and we expect guest to treat our property with respect and care. Dogs are welcome but must be well mannered and house trained. We recommend guests bring a throw to protect furniture when bringing dogs.
The place was clean, neat, with everything needed to be comfortable. The area is a beautiful wooded area. It was the perfect place to relax after such a long flight to Ireland.
Was made to feel very welcome in this ideal place. Great location next to the lough, though unfortunately due to the weather we couldn't make best use of the surroundings. Nevertheless, perfect place to relax. Thanks very much :)
Dawn was a great and generous host, the place is fantastic, clean, warm/cosy, well furnished and well kept! I do recommend people ensure they know where it is if arriving at night and not where the (website hidden) map pointed to on airbnb at the time of our trip, i.e. - not Castle Lane, Lisnaskea. It is in the countryside and can be tricky to find. A great stay overall and would love to repeat again in the summer to make the most of the activities on the lake.
The facilities here were flawless. Clean, comfortable and with everything you need. Dawn popped up and introduced herself and was very helpful with any questions we had. Canoeing on the lake was fantastic and it's a great area for cycling. I cannot fault this place, thank you.
