If this is not available: we rent out three beautiful places!

Waking up in the countryside in the morning sun? With us you will find peace, a beautiful environment by the river, hiking, biking, hanging in the hammock, cozy dining and super nice hosts ;). A lovely place for you or you together where the bed is made upon arrival. Everything is nice and back to basic, but the first needs are all present in this pimped caravan of 40 years old.

Follow us @y_ourhome for more experience.

The space
Together with my mother and a good friend, we started in the spring of 2019 with the idea of pimping up 2 caravans, making the area beautiful and creating a shower room. It's been a very long process, much longer than we thought. We created everything intuitively and used a lot of old materials and driftwood. We are very happy with the end result and are now happy to let you experience it. We now rent out 3 unique places on our property.

The caravan is decorated to create a nice atmosphere. In front of the caravan, you have your own place where you can sit comfortably. If it rains, you'll be dry. In the evening, wrap a nice blanket around you, we can't make it any cozier! A little further on, there are also hammocks, for shared use, where you can relax wonderfully.

Leave your phone off, read a few books or listen to the music. You don't have to do anything. You can walk along the beautiful dikes and flood plains between the rivers. You can rent a bicycle from us, if you prefer cycling. It is also possible to eat with us in our cozy farm kitchen or outside at the picnic table. We are vegetarian/vegan and eat a lot of organic food. We cook about twice a week for our guests.

If you come for peace of mind because you have gotten stuck, coaching/guidance is also an option. My mother is a super woman and has completed several valuable courses in the field of personal development. Her mission is to let everyone discover that everything is within yourself.

Guest access
The caravan is 20 steps from our farm. At the rear facade, near the old toilet cottage, there is access to the shower room and toilet. You share this space with a few other guests. Your car can be parked along our yard.

Other things to note
Caravan equipment:

Bed: 1.25 x 195, nice and cozy! This will be made for you on arrival. The dining area can be converted into a sofa bed.

The water in the kitchen comes from a jerry can that you have to fill yourself every now and then with the watering can.

The following is present in the kitchen
- Natural hand soap and dish soap
- Bottle of drinking water
- Herbs + pepper and salt
- Coffee, tea and sugar
- Oil

Additional costs:

- Stove/other electricity use: this includes 2 kWh per night. For additional kWh consumed (usually due to stove use), we charge €0.50 per kWh.

These costs will be settled after the visit via a payment request.

Values and standards:
We live with respect for nature. We ask you to separate the waste according to the waste bins that are ready for it.

Don't make a fuss. Of course, you can turn on the radio!

Did something break during your stay? Please let us know as soon as possible so we can repair/renew it.

Leave the toilet and shower room tidy (you can remove any remaining hair with the tissues in the shower room).

We live at the end of a small village. It's pretty quiet here. However, our property borders the road and the garden of the neighbors. So you hear cars driving, a bit, a dog barking and the neighbors also occasionally mow the grass.

For ALL the equipment of your stay, look under the heading: Amenities. This way, you avoid taking too much with you.

Do you have any tips for us? Very much!

Neighborhood highlights

Our farm is located on the dike. From the dike you look at the river the Maas. At 2 to 3 minutes walk, you splash in the dead branch of the river for a refreshing dip. Alphen is a small village with secretly more to offer than expected. We have multiple restaurants and dining options. Lovely drinks at the harbour with beautiful views or homemade cake eating in the tea garden are things we often enjoy. The nearest supermarket (Jumbo) is 4 km away. We have a bike with shopping bags that you can borrow free of charge to do your shopping.

Along the dike is a lot of recreation in the form of campsites, ports and things to do on the water. For example, you can rent a sup board at the harbour to paddle quietly on the lake. There are many cycling routes here that will take you through the ribbon villages along the rivers. In the summer, there are bike spits in several places that take you across the street.

A selection of activities in Alphen:
*Tea garden Under the green sky (homemade cake, a beautiful garden, along the nature reserve)
*De Schans marina/camping (drink beer & fries/lunch, drinks, rental supplank, etc.)
*From Everything n Bietje (lunch room, coffee time, partly run by people with disabilities, gifts)

Activities nearby:
*Gardens of Appeltern (largest model garden park, inspiration, well worth it, day away)
*Riverside in Appeltern (many and various outdoor activities)
*Berendonck sauna in Wijchen (in one day bad weather you book the beautiful sauna with a 1001 nights atmosphere. You will be insured back in your caravan completely zen)
*Tea garden in Appeltern
*Scoot on Route (retro scooter tours)
*Castle in Hernen
*Beautiful villages: Batenburg, Megen, Ravenstein, worthwhile!
