This cozy apartment is located in the basement of a newly renovated house originally built in 1905 on a quiet one-way family street in Toronto's Bloordale Village neighbourhood. Bedroom, Living Room, Kitchen, Laundry and Bath. You have your own entrance with shared access to the backyard and patio. Free High Speed Wi-Fi also included. You can bring your own laptop and watch Netflix, or choose from some of the free HD channels that come in on the antenna.
We are 2 blocks (about 7 min walk) from Dufferin Subway Station on the Bloor line - in another 10 minutes you could be in Yorkville, Annex, High Park or University of Toronto. In 20 minutes you could be in the Financial District, Club District, or Union Station. Even closer to the bus - one route will take you to the bars and restaurants on College St. and the art galleries and stores of West Queen West. But - there is no need to go anywhere....
...We love this area for the amount of things to see and do within walking distance. You cannot walk far without hitting some of the best Portuguese, Korean and East African food to be had in Toronto. The markets and cafes on Bloor are everywhere, and we have lots of vintage/thrift clothes shopping. We are right around the block from a delicious Waffle Bar (yes, waffles - (website hidden)) where you can also go for pints and (sometimes) live jazz and comedy at night. Speaking of comedy, 12 min walk to Comedy Bar ((website hidden)) for a more regularly scheduled (yet edgy) evening's entertainment. 3 Speed Cafe and Bar has one of the coolest back patios in the city - complete with brick oven.
Perfect location to also explore: Dufferin Grove Park, Big on Bloor Festival, Korean Festival, TIFF, Winterlicous, Scotiabank Nuit Blanche. If you like Antiques, walk to the Junction. We are also a 10 min walk from the Dufferin Mall which is huge and also has groceries & beer.
There is a quiet bedroom with queen size bed and memory foam mattress that everyone raves about. The living room is a great place to watch a movie, or read from the library. The backyard patio means you can sit out and have a beer and enjoy the sunshine and neighbourhood sounds.
- Child friendly! While there is only one queen sized bed, we have a portable crib or blow-up mattress available for small children (advanced notice, please!)
- Fully stocked kitchen...herbs/spices, pots/pans, microwave, coffee maker, blender, etc.
- Sheets and linens, towels
- Washer and dryer in apartment, free.
- DVD Player on a Sony Bravia widescreen. We don't have cable, but we get several HD channels over-the-air.
- internet connection, DVDs, board games, books, stereo ipod dock, to make your stay more enjoyable
- Street parking available with permit issued by city ($10/day, $13/2 days; $22/week)
- Guide books for Toronto and surrounding areas
- Large, fenced-in backyard with covered patio, garden
We are a young family who love to meet new people, sit on the back porch and offer up suggestions of our favourite places to show visitors in Toronto. We live in the unit above this apartment with our 2 young sons.
- The entrance to the apartment involves going in the lane between our house and the neighbours, which is a bit tight - just wide enough for a bicycle. if you have something wider to bring in, we can go through the house or garage on arrival
- There is one short flight of 4 stairs down to the apartment from the backyard.

The apartment was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. I stayed here for one month and I enjoyed my stay at Egan and Mia apartment. The location is very great, close to subway ! We recommend this place and we want to stay here again. Thank you Egan and Mia :)
Such marvelous and lovely hosts. A very nice and clean apartment and perfect for our time in Toronto. Definitely a place for a nice stay in this wonderful city. Thank you Egan and Mia!
I stayed at Egan and Mia's with my boyfriend for a month and I have nothing but good things to say. The location is super convenient first of all, there's a mall about 10 minutes walk away which has just about everything you could need, and another grocery store a 5 minutes walk away. The subway station is just a short walk away, which can take you wherever you need to go. The apartment itself was perfect: clean, cozy, and outfitted with everything you could need. Egan and Mia were perfect hosts, always making sure everything was going well and we really enjoyed our stay here!
Very cozy, clean and well decorated apt; excellent location close to subway and shopping. Egan and Mia are the most accommodating, helpful and welcoming hosts; pleasure to meet and communicate. Thank you so much, guys, my stay was absolutely perfect!
Very nice place -- very clean, and thoughtful touches for guests (fruit, tea and coffee) included. Low ceilings (a little less than 7 feet) might be challenging for some -- but worked out fine for me. Would definitiely stay there again.
We stayed at Mia and Egan's apartment for a long weekend while visiting friends. It was the perfect place to call home for the weekend. Mia greeted us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the apartment and offered us information of local attractions nearby (if you have a chance, be sure to check out the restaurant Rush Hour...amazing food and the owners were fantastic).
Mia and Egan were readily available if we had any questions. The apartment was comfortable and cozy, had everything we needed and exactly as described.
Egan and Mia's apartment is warm, cozy, and well-set up. It is clean and well-furnished and very welcoming, right down to details such as a hand drawn map of local eateries. Egan and Mia are incredible hosts. They are kind and went out of their way to ensure that we had all we needed during our 2 month stay at their place. They made us feel very at home. We would recommend staying at their home very enthusiastically.
As a couple with a newborn traveling from Baltimore, Maryland, Egan and Mia's hospitality was just what we needed! The apartment was cozy and had all the amenities we were looking for (laundry, full kitchen, space for the travel crib and the other baby stuff, comfy bed for us, and a full private bath). And to top it off Egan and Mia were very warm and welcoming hosts. They had great recommendations for delicious, nearby restaurants (and knew which ones were baby-friendly) and were very responsive to our needs. We arrived extremely late on our first night and Egan was so kind as to stay up to welcome us and show us around... and all with a smile on his face :). I would fully recommend their place to anyone who is looking to travel to the Toronto area (especially those traveling with children). We loved it!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights and it was a great experience. Egan and Mia were great hosts, they went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed and gave us some great recommendations for things to do and places to eat in Toronto. The apartment was a very pleasant place to stay, it was very spacious and it felt really cosy to come back to the apartment after a day in the city. The laundry facilities in the apartment were really useful. We would definitely stay with Egan and Mia again if we come back to Toronto.
We had a great weekend at Egan and Mia's place. our hosts were very friendly. It was very nice to see some snacks waiting for us the night we arrived. We really appreciated that they provide us playpen and baby bath tub as well as baby books and toys. We definetely recommend this place.
