About this listing

A clean, quiet & private space with a large, comfy bed. Private bathroom just down the stairs, upstairs balcony & wifi available. Surrounded by big gardens & nature reserve with close proximity to town, beaches & cafes.

The space

Fully furnished room with large bed, wardrobes and private eastward facing upstairs balcony. Private bathroom just down the stairs. The room is open, airy, has a TV and a fan in summer. Ten minutes walk from Byron CBD and to beaches. Very quiet and peaceful. Wireless included.

The room is upstairs and is clean and private and also has shelf space.

Safe parking on the property. Just myself, the host, living here unless the second bedroom is booked.

There are beaches just across the road and a 7/11 /cafe around the corner. Buses go regularly from the the corner of the street and the neighbourhood is also very quiet and safe.

The private upstairs verandah would be very suitable for yoga practice or morning coffee.

There is access to a washing machine and washing line. The house is very open plan, light and private with extensive land and gardens surrounding it.

Breakfast can be provided if organised but otherwise use of the kitchen is limited to cuppa's & the fridge is small but milk will be available.

The Cumbebin Nature Reserve runs arounds two sides of the house and one often sees wallabies, echida, bandicoots and a diverse variety of native birds.

For those who are not into cats or have cat allergies please check out the other room I have listed, which would be more suitable, it's a 'cat free zone'! :) I have three very lazy cats who keep to themselves but not suitable for someone with allergies. The other room listed is more private and the main door is always closed so the cats never go in there.

I prefer to take bookings for one person only, thank you!

This being my first Airbnb experience, it was lovely to have such comfortable and quiet room and tranquil surrounds for a peaceful end of busy days at Bluefest. I was grateful for Deborah's willingness to make allowances for such late night entries. Even though there was another guest, we didn't cross paths at all - so felt very private space. A great experience and definitely recommended xox

Deborah's place was the perfect solution for the two days I spent wandering around Byron Bay's amazing landscapes and nightlife pubs and clubs. It took just a 15-20 minute walk to reach Main Beach and Jonson St, and the house is placed in a quiet neighborhood. Deborah hosted me in a nice and comfy room, and I had a private bathroom. The house was cozy and clean, and really quiet. It was easy to communicate with her, and she's been really kind and hospitable. I'd definitively recommend her place.

Beautiful house in a quiet strip in Byron Bay. I loved the fact it was immersed in nature. Deborah is very particular about guest etiquette so this place will not suit families, people travelling in groups or those wishing to party.

Response from Deborah:
People surprise me, both good and not so good. I allowed Priya to change her booking 3 days before arrival without penalty and when she arrived at my door without any message 3 hours early I was still cleaning but made sure I got it done within 20 minutes for her despite the heat. The result is I got a very low rating on 'arrival', that surprises me. Otherwise yes I think my guidelines are clear, it is for mainly single people who want a quiet and peaceful experience and/or are happy to be surrounded by wildlife and nature.

I am looking forward to welcome you in the near future!

I am a youth worker and have worked for Byron Youth Service for fifteen years. I work with young people who are experiencing difficulty in one or more areas of their lives and also do lots of fun and creative projects with them.

I have two grown up kids and a 3 young grandsons. My son, his partner and grandsons live in Ballina and sometimes call in with their little family.

My other great love is wildlife photography and I spend a lot of time in the wetlands, estuaries and beaches. You can see my photography on my website (URL HIDDEN)

I also love travelling overseas (I love Asia, I lived there for some years and have kept returning). I also love wildlife photography, reading, gardening, movies and seeing my longterm friends. At home I lead a quiet and peaceful life since my worklife is quite hectic.

The house is surrounded by gardens and a wetlands so there are lots of visitors such as wallabies, echidnas, possums, a huge variety of birds and if you're lucky you'll see the resident Koala Bear.

I also have three very lazy cats who keep to themselves. Anyone with allergies would need to rent the 'ensuite room', which is always kept cat free. It also has tea making facilities in the room.

Generally I prefer to have single people as guests, my work life is very busy and my home life very quiet so one guest works best for me.
