  • Great place to stay! Loved hanging out on the screened in porch, pretty close to good food in Hillsborough, easy drive to Durham, everything we needed for our stay.

  • If you want homey and hospitality, this is the perfect place. Amber takes southern hospitality to a whole new level. A super clean, super comfy house with a wonderful screened porch for outdoor dinners on the grill. Amber and Dave are artists (among other things!) and this was so inspirational to our own inner creative selves. Nearby are lots of history and excellent walking/hiking and beautiful, rambling country roads. Not to mention great restaurants, coffee shops, etc. We loved our time here.

  • Overall, My wife and I enjoyed our stay...Amber went out of her way to provide us with directions regarding shopping centers that were nearby. In addition, she responded to our special request as well as encouraging us to utilize every room in the house with the exception of her husband's office ;D. The home is kept nice and is clutter free. Amber provided us with complementary coffee and tea...as well as drafting a special letter for my wife and I. I thought that was nice of her. Also, there is a TV (a very good selection of cable channels...best I've seen) and a DVD player in the living room but not in the master bedroom nor the guest room. The neighborhood is quiet and in close distance between Greensboro and Raleigh NC. I would definitely return. Curtis

  • We had a really great stay at Amber & Dave's home in Efland, NC. We were heading to Duke for my sister's graduation and couldn't find a place to stay in Durham. Amber & Dave's was a beautiful 20 minute commute (if you stay off highway 85 and stick to 70) and we enjoyed the scenic drive to Durham in the mornings.
The home is bright, clean, spacious and very homey. The refrigerator was stocked, the master bed was the most comfortable we ever stayed in and it was obvious Amber and Dave spent extra time preparing for our stay. They made lots of considerations for us including: putting out a basket of maps and info packets, finding out what we like to eat/drink in the morning and having that available, communicating the logistics with ample time before our arrival and leaving written instructions for any issues we may incur.
One of the highlights of the weekend for me was sitting on their screened in porch in the morning and drinking coffee - I saw/heard more birds back there than I have in my entire life in Chicago. Just perfect!

I'm a former corporate communications account exec., defaulted to recreational therapist 11 years ago, and now a clinical health psychology grad student (hope this one 'takes!'). I enjoy trail running, yoga, hiking, exploring the outdoors, and practicing kindness and gratitude :) My husband is an artist (painter). Our favorite indoor activities usually involve art, music, and food/wine. We are also servants to two dogs, and volunteer in the local schools & elsewhere with them to provide animal-assisted therapy and to support children learning to read. I do enjoy being home with my family, but always have a need to get my travel 'fix'. The place I've traveled to the most, and never tire of, is British Columbia, especially Vancouver and all of vancouver island (and surrounding islands). Closer to home, Asheville, NC is tops! Oh, and I'm an uber considerate, quiet, non-smoking house guest:)
