This is meant to be a relaxing retreat experience and is set up to be a wonderful experience for us all and that you wish to return.
This beautiful sanctuary met all of my hopes and expectations! I was running later than expected, and communicated with Maryanne and Don about it, so they turned on some lights since I'd be arriving in the dark, which was very thoughtful. I met Maryanne briefly, she was very sweet and she always responded quickly to my text questions. The country garden setting was very peaceful and relaxing - just what I needed. My favorite was the pond with the water lilies, and the frogs who sat there and croaked at night. The mornings brought birds singing and deer sightings. The inside was spacious and clean. Lovely stay!
Hi Angie. Sorry I wish I had known. I stocked it with wash cloths now and the ice maker lift needed to be down for ice. I will make sure it is down and producing ice from now on. Thank you for the cube trays. That was very kind. Those were easy fixes. Thank you for making me aware of them.
My stay with Maryanne was my first and only negative experience with airbnb. Her behavior was rude and toxic.
Her place lacks privacy - no curtains in the living room etc and there are floor to ceiling glass windows on all sides. She claimed that we were using her AC with door open from far away. The glass door was closed, the net door was open. The lack of trust was appalling. But the impersonal nature of her communicating with me was worse.
We only prepared coffee at her place and she thought the place stank "very very strongly of curry" this is at best paranoia or at worst racism. I can't make up my mind. Also there are claims of us leaving a stain on one of her rug.
Her kitchen is very ill equipped for cooking anything vegetarian.
In the many years that I had travelled with airbnb I have made great friends with my hosts and have been in frequent communication with them even after months and years of having departed their company. Never have I felt before now that a host was out to rob me blind and insult me at the same time. Her claims to having damaged a rug because of something we cooked seem baseless but there would have been a polite way of inquiring if we had prepared anything that could have damaged anything rather than coming out and blaming us of something that we didn't do.
My family and I stayed at MaryAnn's place for a few days in May and really enjoyed our visit. The apartment has a lovely decor, very clean, private, and the grounds, pond, trees, etc. made for a relaxing escape. MaryAnn was a very gracious host. We would happily return in the future and recommend it to others.
Joanna and family,
Thank you for choosing to stay at the "Garden of Eden" for your family vacation.
It was a delight to see you all together as a family.
I am happy to hear that you really enjoyed your visit.
Please come back and consider me in the future.
Thank you for your suggestions about having some water bottles in the fridge.
I am happy to do that.
You left the house in a very clean condition and I appreciate that.
Thank you for appreciating the surrounding beauty of this peaceful place and felt it was a relaxing escape for you.
Likewise, your whole family was very respectful and most gracious guests.
You are welcome any time.
Amazing, cozy, spacious, very clean and welcoming place. Decorated with a great taste ! Nature around is wonderful. Perfect place to relax, recharge and re-energize. We arrived really late at night and I worried a little bit how we would be able to find the place, but Maryanne sent us precise instructions, left the lights on and prepared the home for us. Maryanne was very helpful,we were able to text her and get an answer regarding anything we needed. She suggested an awesome park nearby, so we had a chance to enjoy sunset, barbecue and skateboarding. It would be really nice to come back in Summer to canoe and swim in the lake. Really great experience! Thank you for the mini vacation!!!!
Maryanne's place was way better thn what my fiancée and I expected. We had an amazing/relaxing time. I wouldn't asked for anything else. Everything was perfect and I'd love to come back.
Maryanne has a beautiful home and a fantastic location. The gardens, pond, and screened-in porch were a big surprise. It was so peaceful, we ended up waking up a lot later than we planned!
We stayed there with our two teenagers and had a lot of room for our family.
We are planning on returning!
