This special Mayan home was designed by the flamboyant, Robert Stacy-Judd, who created sensational architecture in the 1920's and 30's. He led an expedition into the Yucatan at the time Lindbergh crossed the Atlantic; both opened new worlds. My home is featured in many books and I hope you will be fascinated with it as well. It is located on a corner lot, directly across from a lagoon, where you can go and be entertained while you feed the ducks and geese. I truly work hard at making your stay and room comfortable and clean by paying attention to special details for you. Nearly everything in my home has been obtained from many different places and refurbished to extend and give them a second life, as well as save on world waste.
The first bedroom is attached but separate from the Main House. It is a BUTTERFLY design room. It has a king canopy bed with ceiling mirrors. I also have an extra single mattress in the laundry room for a third guest. There is a wicker furniture sitting area with Tiffany designed lamps, a 47 inch LCD TV with DirecTV. You also have wifi access. There is an electric small fireplace that can add heat to the room if needed. A seperate kitchen, which is decorated in happy bright colors, has an apartment size stove/oven, a sink, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and coffee pot. The kitchen is supplied with all that you would need. Oopsy....If by chance I forgot to put something there, please let me know and I will be happy to try and get it for you. You have access to your own tub/shower. This unit has a front separate entrance off of Pier Ave and on premise parking in the driveway.
The second room that is available is a bit more wild.....as I like to say since it is decorated in a JUNGLE style. Realistic elephant and giraffe paintings are professionally done on 2 different walls. This room has a king bed and a single roll out love seat. Wifi is also available. You are welcome to use the common area back porch which has a propane built in BBQ, a gas stove top, a mini sink and a full refrigerator. You have your own tub/shower bathroom. Decorated with loud colors. The toilet has a bidet seat with remote controls. This room is accessed through the Main House stained glass door. FREE parking is off the streets on Pier Ave or Norswing Ave.
Your third option is a "2006" TASTEFULLY decorated RV trailer. It has a couch and dinette slide out, giving you more room to roam. You have a seperate bedroom with a double bed and an RV size tub shower. You have a full kitchen with all kitchen accessories. So if you want to cook or bake, you have all the necessary amenities at hand. And if you prefer to grill, you are welcome to use the common area porch with the BBQ. You have your own seperate gate entrance and private small yard which allows you to bring your animals to stay in your yard area. Street parking closest to the entrance would be off of Norswing. The RV sits on the back side of my Mayan Home. Feels like you are camping in luxury!
Send me a message for availability since I do advertise on another web page. And if you have a preference please specify Butterfly, Jungle, Artistic, RV or camper.
Coming soon is a 15' diameter Tipi....so excited!!
My 1929 Mayan home is a few blocks away from one of the only two beach entrance's. The only beach in California that you are allowed to drive your car onto. It is relaxing in the evening, as well as romantic to light a bon fire and sit back and listen to the spectacular ocean waves. You may request to use the entrance pass, as well as a few comfy papasian chairs that you can take down to the beach with you. I suggest that you use the pass since this will save you about 6 dollars each day you enter the beach.
The home is also located very close to the Oceano Dunes and just a few miles from the Pismo Pier area. Down the street you can rent ATV's or a Hummer ride and leave the driving to them. Across the way is a local public bus stop for area transportation. Just a short walk from my home is the Rock n Roll Diner, which allows you to dine in a train car. There is also Beach Burger and Old Juan's Cantina, which has a reasonable champagne brunch.
Points of interest: Oceano Beach, Grover Beach, Pismo Beach, Shell Beach, Avila Beach....and ummm the NUDE Beach....as well as being centrally located between San Francisco and Los Angeles. There also is the famous Hearst Castle, San Luis Obispo (aka the happiest place in America), SL Port Harbor, The Arroya Grande Village, Lopez Lake, wonderful wineries, farmers markets, The Oceano Melodrama, horseback riding, wind surfing, skydiving, surfing, kayaking, biking, hiking...not to mention TONS OF BEAUTY. Visit The Five Cities and be amazed. You can have the nightlife or choose a total solitude retreat and just chill. I am very happy to help out with any information or plans to where you may want to go.
I will end with a thank you...I THANK YOU for taking the time to read about my Historic Mayan Home and I THANK YOU for considering me to be your host.
An interesting aspect of the Mayan language and the way to say "Thank you" literally means "God Pays"
ENJOY wherever your travel and stays may take you!!!
Mi Casa Es Su Casa.....I like my guests to feel welcome and a part of it so they have access to it as if it was their own. I will say though that I am a stickler on leaving things exactly the way it was and leaving it cleaned for the next guest to use. As well as since we are on sand wiping things up right away is very important because of the sugar ants....If anything is missing or broken I appreciate being informed.
Interaction with Guests
I try and let my guests have their privacy, its their time, its their vacation, its their home here. I am respectful and ask for the same. I am also always willing to engage as much as they would like. I have had all different kinds of guest. Those that are quiet and like alone time and those that I have enjoyed a cup of java or tea with. That's the beauty of hosting, diversification and I LOVE it!!
OCEAN OCEAN OCEAN....so very close. Either walk a few blocks or take your car and park for free. So nice to watch the mesmerizing waves and the sunsets. My home is on the entrance to the beach so at times it gets busy. Less people during the week and during the off season. But the nice plus is its always beautiful!! I never take it for granted even though I see it almost every day.
Public Transportation across the way.
Other Things to Note
There is a Mexican Restaurant, Burger Hut, and a variety food Rock n Roll Diner all close by and within walking distance.
No inside smoking, pets or parties allowed. I have ashtrays located on the outside porches for your convenience.
ONLY GUESTS on booking will be allowed in home.

The description was accurate and also the neighborhood described. It was awesome to be a few blocks from the beach and easy driving access to other great spots.
Anna was there to greet us when we arrived, and we were delighted to find the Butterfly Unit as described on the website!
The unit is quirky and fun, cozy and comfortable, and just the sort of hide-away that we needed for our weekend family event which was in SLO - just close enough to get to in 20 minutes, and far enough away to disconnect from family when we wanted to.
We loved being able to walk to the beach whenever we wanted to. We were able to have a truly restful weekend in this very special unit! Anna also graciously showed us the main house when we asked to see it. She was always available to answer any of our questions, and otherwise completely gave us total space.
In the unit itself she has left a lot of information about the area and eateries for her guests, which was also useful.
All in all, we felt like we were staying in a place that is kept up with a lot of love and care!
We ended a weekend of a big family event feeling totally rested instead of spent, thanks to this little piece of private property we could escape to that we found on airbnb!
Anna was really communicative, and made us feel very welcome. The room was great for our family of four. The kids had a great time counting the birds and butterflies on the wall. I was *slightly* disappointed that a 10% tax was collected and not included in the original cost of the room. I'm not saying that the host should have to pay this tax, but I would have preferred that it was collected with the original payment. There might have been mention of it somewhere, but it didn't stand out. The only other thing that I would have liked to know was the constant stream of monster trucks speeding by to head to the dunes. We didn't hear them from the room, but it made me nervous walking with the little ones. To be fair, we were there on a holiday weekend and Anna mentioned that come Monday, all would be quiet again.
Overall it was a really positive experience! Thanks Anna!
I'm travelling with my parents and we are pleasant with our stay at Anna's place. The building is historical and stylish. The room is spacious and nice. The location is great, close to everything. Around Pismo Beach there are a lot to see and experience, I recommend Anna's place if you ever plan to come here.
Anna was a great host and her place was perfect for what we needed! Thank you Anna! We will be back!
Lovely. Quaint. Convenient. Helpful host. Really sweet. The place seems to warm up to the person. Soft, comfortable bed. Loved the Art Deco lamp climbing up the wall. Butterfly pillows( there is a butterfly viewing park, just down the road. Ate at same cafe ( honeymoon cafe) every morning- great coffee and smoothies, and smoked salmon eggs- walked on Pizmo beach, went to Hearst castle, morro bay, and easy to get back to Santa Barbara ( half hour). A good pit stop. Loved it.
The check in was easy breezy. The host was there on time and responsive to texts. The house didn't look like the pictures. The front lawn is all brown now. Didn't see much Mayan influence. The bedroom decor was interesting with wall murals of butterfly and birds. Place was neat. However we booked a bed and breakfast. The bed was an old mattress topped with big piece of foam and there was No Breakfast. The host offered coffee with cold/hot cereal with rice milk. No regular milk and the cereals seemed dated. Nothing looked appetizing. We have stayed at Bnbs before where the hosts have provided sumptuous warm home made breakfasts with omelets, waffles, fresh juices, fruits, milk, nuts, warm tea etc. Here when we asked for breakfast we were pointed in the direction of a grocery store!! Come on if I have to make my own breakfast why would I go to a bnb. Overall not impressed. Will not recommend.
YES the lawn is brown because we are in a serious drought....and to me drinking water and conservation for this and food is MUCH MORE IMPORTANT. Our county is even paying owners to remove their lawns because it is so serious here. Rajat and Jyoti, you rented the Butterfly Unit which is separate from the Mayan Main House rooms, you fully knew that and requested it. Also SORRY its not a B+B and once again you were fully made aware of that before booking because you asked and I answered in our messages beforehand about breakfast. No where does my ad say B+B. You acted like I was supposed to supply you with groceries because you wanted and asking for all types of different food....That's why I gave you a few directions on where to get your daily food at. I have never had any guests act like I owed them something nor had any complaints if I gave them items....yes to try and make you happy I gave you cold/hot cereal pkgs that were NOT out dated, different teas, coffee, hot chocolate, breakfast granola bars, waters, figs, and condiments and I also wrote about rice milk in our messages BEFOREHAND since I do not drink cows milk....If you wanted a B+B they have them for 300.00 a night here and may I remind you that you couldn't even get a motel 6 for 85.00 which is what you paid for a studio 2 blocks to the beach. I'd ask kindly that you go through our messages and there you would easily see that your comments above are not legit since you were fully informed on the separate UNIT and BREAKFAST and I believe a real man after seeing the truth would apologize.

I was born in 1963 and come from a large family. My greatest gifts and accomplishments are my 3 grown children and my 2 grandchildren, who are adorable inside and out, but what grandparent thinks not the same. I love art and unique, different items. I really like to refurbish and reuse, finding treasures which most of my home has been decorated by. I believe in my duty of recycling and composting and that brings me to my love of gardening. I am very eco friendly and dislike waste. I find all kinds of people interesting and like to learn about the area that they are from. My passion is for the love of travel, and that is where I find so much fulfillment. I have always enjoyed cooking and like to taste different foods, but I truly prefer the organic vegetarian lifestyle. I have owned 2 different restaurants and for over 5 years have had a small retail Hemp store here in Pismo Beach. In my free time I put together vacation packages. Most importantly I believe in God and believe in sweet love. I find the ocean here mesmerizing and therapeutic. I enjoy good laughter and sometimes tend to be silly. I like to live in peace and try to live a simple life which is hard to accomplish at times. I have placed my home to rent on airbnb, mainly to share it with you and secondly to help with the much needed upkeep of this historic Mayan home.
I'll end my description with this:
If we could all forgive I believe all the hate in the world would be gone.
