About this listing
I apologize but due to the drastic Ca drought, we are restricted on watering lawns. It is unfortunately brown because of this. I am trying my hardest to lay pavers and bricks as I can. Also SLO tax has increased to 12% Appreciate your understanding.
This special Mayan home was designed by the flamboyant, Robert Stacy-Judd, who created sensational architecture in the 1920's and 30's. He led an expedition into the Yucatan at the time Lindbergh crossed the Atlantic; both opened new worlds. My home is featured in books and I hope you will be fascinated with it as well. It is located on a corner lot, kiddy corner from a lagoon, where you can go and be entertained while you feed the ducks and geese. Nearly everything in my home has been obtained from many different places and refurbished to extend and give them a second life, as well as save on world waste.
I truly work hard at what I do and would so appreciate you letting me know if there is anything that bothers you during your stay. I strive for high reviews and would prefer to address any issues as soon as possible. In return to make your stay better. I also try to pay attention to special details for you.
I may be here on the property or away but I am always accessible by text.
This Butterfly Unit is attached and has a shared wall to the Mayan Home. It is a SEPARATE unit and is separated from the Main House. It is a BUTTERFLY design room. It has a king canopy bed with ceiling mirrors. I also have an extra single double high air mattress in the laundry room for a third guest. If you need to sleep 3 people, please send with a request and I will have extra pillow, sheets and blanket. FYI: it will be tight while the air mattress is down for sleeping but if your looking to save money I offer this option. There is a wicker furniture sitting area with Tiffany designed lamps, a 47 inch LCD TV with DirecTV. You also have wifi access. There is an electric small fireplace that can add heat to the room if needed. A seperate kitchen, which is decorated in happy bright colors, has an apartment size stove/oven, a sink, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and coffee pot. The kitchen is supplied with all that you would need. Oopsy....If by chance I forgot to put something there, please let me know and I will be happy to try and get it for you. You have access to your own tub/shower. This unit has a front separate entrance off of Pier Ave and on premise parking in the driveway.
I ask that you please be respectful to other guests, and are aware of the noise factor during the night time hours. At times there may be many guests renting and at times you may be the only ones.
Send me a message for availability since I do advertise on another web page. I also offer a Jungle Room and/or an Artistic Upbeat Room, both located in the main house. I also offer an RV, which is on the front side of the house. If interested just look at my other listings.
Coming soon is a 15' diameter Tipi....so excited!!
My 1929 Mayan home is a few blocks away from ONE of the only two beach entrance's. The only beach in California that you are allowed to drive your car onto. It is relaxing in the evening, as well as romantic to light a bon fire on the beach and sit back and listen to the spectacular ocean waves. You may request to use the beach entrance pass, as well as a few comfy papasian chairs that you can take down to the beach with you. I suggest that you use the pass since this will save you about 6 dollars each day you enter the beach.
The home is also located very close to the Oceano Dunes and just a few couple miles from the Pismo Pier area. Down the street you can rent ATV's or a Hummer ride and leave the driving to them. Across the way is a local public bus stop for area transportation. Just a short walk from my home is the Rock n Roll Diner, which allows you to dine in a train car. There is also Beach Burger up the street and Old Juan's Cantina right next door, which has a reasonable Sunday champagne brunch.
Points of interest: Oceano Beach, Grover Beach, Pismo Beach, Shell Beach, Avila Beach....and ummm the NUDE Beach....as well as being centrally located between San Francisco and Los Angeles. There also is the famous Hearst Castle, San Luis Obispo (aka the happiest place in America), SL Port Harbor, The Arroya Grande Village, Lopez Lake, wonderful wineries, farmers markets, The Oceano Melodrama, horseback riding, wind surfing, skydiving, surfing, kayaking, biking, hiking...not to mention TONS OF BEAUTY. Visit The Five Cities and be amazed. You can have the nightlife or choose a total solitude retreat and just chill. I am very happy to help out with any information or plans to where you may want to go.
I will end with a thank you...I THANK YOU for taking the time to read about my Historic Mayan Home and my property variety. I THANK YOU for considering me to be your host. I'm not perfect but I am nice :)
An interesting aspect of the Mayan language and the way to say "Thank you" literally means "God Pays"
ENJOY wherever your travel and stays may take you!!!
Mi Casa Es Su Casa.....I like my guests to feel welcome and a part of it so they have access to it as if it was their own. I will say though that I am a stickler on leaving things exactly the way it was and leaving it cleaned for the next guest to use. As well as since we are on sand wiping things up right away is very important because of the sugar ants....If anything is missing or broken I appreciate being informed.
Interaction with Guests
I try and let my guests have their privacy, its their time, its their vacation, its their home here. I am respectful and ask for the same. I am also always willing to engage as much as they would like. I have had all different kinds of guest. Those that are quiet and like alone time and those that I have enjoyed a cup of java or tea with. That's the beauty of hosting, diversification and I LOVE it!!
OCEAN OCEAN OCEAN....so very close. Either walk a few blocks or take your car and park for free. So nice to go watch the mesmerizing waves and the sunsets. My home is on the entrance to the beach so at times it gets BUSY....Less people during the week and during the off season. But the nice plus is its always beautiful!! I never take it for granted even though I see it almost every day.
Public Transportation across the way for a small fee
Other Things to Note
My check in time is 4pm to allow myself time to clean and prepare. When there are multiply ck outs and ck ins on the same day its a hustle for me. You are more than welcome though to text me to see if your particular unit/room is ready and I would be more than happy to allow an earlier ck in time when possible.
No inside smoking, pets or parties allowed. I have ashtrays located on the outside porches for your convenience.
Please be respectful of other guests that are on the property. Especially evening noise when others may be trying to rest.
ONLY GUESTS on booking will be allowed on the property please.
Must be at least 18 years old to book a room.
If your NOT verified with airbnb and do not have reviews then you will need to email or fax a form of government identification. If there is difficulties just let me know.

What a quaint appartment. Lovely! Anna provided everything to ensure the stay was complete. Communication was excellent. Nice beach nearby and excellent cantina right next door.
Anna was a great host, we got a lot of space. She is very friendly and we got everything we need. Location is near to the beach and to a great Mexican restaurant.
What a fabulous place to be and Anna is lovely and helpful with local info. We stayed in the Butterfly unit, the bed is so comfy and huge! Everything clean and the kitchenette had everything you need. We ate at the rock'n'roll diner and had breakfast on the beach. Awesome!
Anna is such a wonderful host! It was really a pleasure to stay with her. Very loving implementation and furnishing, absolut clean and located in a good place to do a lot of great things.
Thank you so much, Anna, and I hope we will see twice!!
Character and atmosphere, charming and comfortable, easy access to the beach. Anna is wonderful
We loved our stay in Anna's space. We felt welcome. Anna made it a point to meet us and make sure we all were accommodated several times. She had great recommendations for area restaurants and activities. The place is conveniently near the beach and a restaurant.
Fantastic stay, Anna was super helpful and kind. We had a great time :)

About the Host, Anna M
I was born in 1963 and come from a large family. My greatest gifts and accomplishments are my 3 grown children and my 3 grandchildren, who are adorable inside and out, but what grandparent thinks not the same. I love art and unique, different items. I really like to refurbish and reuse, finding treasures which most of my home has been decorated by. I believe in my duty of recycling and composting and that brings me to my love of gardening. I am very eco friendly and dislike waste. I find all kinds of people interesting and like to learn about the area that they are from. My passion is for the love of travel, and that is where I find so much fulfillment. I have always enjoyed cooking and like to taste different foods, but I truly prefer the organic vegetarian lifestyle. I have owned 2 different restaurants and for over 7 years have had a small retail Hemp store here in Pismo Beach. In my free time I put together vacation packages. Most importantly I believe in God and believe in sweet love. I find the ocean here mesmerizing and therapeutic. I enjoy good laughter and sometimes tend to be silly. I like to live in peace and try to live a simple life which is hard to accomplish at times. I have placed my home to rent on airbnb, mainly to share it with you and secondly to help with the much needed upkeep of this historic Mayan home.
I'll end my description with this:
If we could all forgive I believe all the hate in the world would be gone.
