This place is magical. Eduardo is one of the nicest hosts we have met. He took such good care of us. Because the house is located in a remote area, he made sure we had access to transportation. Alex and Sofia, driver and cleaning lady, were super nice as well. Eduardo is always ready to help, from lighting up a fire in the fireplace to letting us use his telescope to see the breathtaking skies, to helping us get medicine for my daughter's mountain sickness. The house is solar-powered and everything is eco-friendly. It is the first truly green house we stay in, and it has forever changed our mindset. If you are looking to escape to a place where simple life means happiness, this is the place for you. Gracias por todo Eduardo!

We had a wonderful stay. Eduardo arranged for a terrific driver and for dinners to be cooked for us, making everything easy despite our extremely limited Spanish. The patio and wood burning stove are particularly lovely. Thanks again, Eduardo!

Test your BAYADA knowledge! 1. BAYADA has been serving clients since: ________? 2. Total number of clients served to date: ________? 3. Number of service offices: ________? We will post the answers tomorrow! The first person to comment the closest numbers without going over wins a prize. Tomorrow at noon our scavenger hunt ends! But if you haven't started, we'll help you contend. You still have time Just follow this rhyme And click here for the clues my friend: LINK Just got back from an incredible trip to Peru, and this house was a big highlight for our time in the Cusco area! Myself, my husband, our two friends and my younger brother (age 14) stayed at this home for 5 days and it was a perfect home base for us as we explored the sacred valley region. Here's what you need to know: 1. The house is outside of a town called Calca - it's too far to walk from Calca directly (unless you have a lot of time or are really good with altitude) but you can get there from a collective bus or taxi from Pisac or Calca in a pinch. 2. I'm not super great with altitude, and this was my first time in Peru, so the home owner Eduardo recommended a driver/tour guide, Evers, to help us. Evers was AWESOME and we were so fortunate to have him! He picked us up at the airport, drove us around every day AND took us back to the airport. We arranged the prices with him on arrival. it was fantastic and I would 100% do it again. The area really isn't that challenging once you get a feel for it and Evers is from a nearby town and knows everything. We felt safe and knew we were in good hands! 3. To get to Macchu Picchu: buy afternoon tickets from the Peruvian website (URL HIDDEN) then buy tickets from the sacred valley station to Aguas Calientes, it's expensive and you just have to suck it up, aside from walking the trail there are no alternatives. From Aguas Clientes, you'll need to stand in line to buy a bus ticket to get up to and back from Macchu Picchu itself. It's a lot! But it's worth it. From the house you can arrange to have Evers or a driver take you to Ollantaytambo to pick up the train (that's the sacred valley station) we left the house at about 630 am to have enough time for the drive and our 1030 am train tickets. There's a lot to do nearby and Evers was so helpful. If you have the time DEFINITELY walk the Pisac ruins. It's great becuase you don't have to haul yourself up there as much like the other ruins, you get to poke around really well preserved space and it's a gorgeous 2 hour walk back down. (although a bit challenging if you're like me and sit at a desk all day, but i survived and...

Nice sized house in a very remote location. Very private. Nice views and great stargazing at night. Only issue was how difficult it was to get there because of the long very rocky bumby twisty road. Host was very attentive and helpful. Great value.

Eduardo was an amazing host!! I came to visit for a week with intentions to propose to my GF at Machu Picchu and with his help it went great. The trip was disguised as a bday trip as it was also her bday. Eduardo and his lovely wife actually had a bday cake ready for her bday without me even asking. Before coming to Peru I was thinking of using an actual tour guide to do ruins and such but many friends suggested to do it locally myself because tour guides booked from the states were over charging. I consulted Eduardo before coming and he assured me that his trusted taxi driver could help me with my ruins and adventures. It was so. We had a private driver that stuck with us from morning to night time. Overall experience was PERFECT!

What a wonderful trip! We couldn't dream of a better time in the Sacred Valley. We were imagining a week in a quiet local area, a view on the mountains, a little fireplace, reading a book and going inca site hunting... this is exactly what we had. First of all Eduardo makes everything easy for you. We were traveling my husband and I, our 6 months old son and my parents. He organized the transportation from the airport to the house. The next morning, he took us with his car to Calca at the local market. It was an amazing experience to meet the people, buy fresh food and practice our Spanish :) With the baby and the grand-parents, we were a bit concerned about the facilities of Calca. 10 minutes from the house we could find all the supplies we needed, a doctor (what we didn't need), ATMs, etc. The house is as described, spacious, with a wonderful terrace where we could enjoy the sun and relax the first few days to get used to the altitude. Eduardo asked everyday if we needed something at the village. Every time we needed extra wood, a blender, or other things he was there to help. Then, we visited the Museum down the hill. Eduardo reserved for us and we got the VIP treatment. We had a guide, baby stroller for little Noah learning about he Peruvian civilisations. BTW really worth the visit! He also organized us the transportation to Ollyantambo to get to Machu Picchu. Another day to visit Ollyantambo, Pisac, Salineras, Moras, Moray, Chincheros and more. We could enjoy the best of the Sacred Valley having all those sites really close by, but keeping a quiet house in a local village... simply the best. Finally, he took care of having our laundry done, get us to Cusco and even drove back to bring us a sweater we forgot in the car. If you are looking for someone trustworthy, a perfect house in the valley and a local but comfortable experience, the place of Wasi is what you are looking for! Thank you again! And we were super happy to meet you. Isabelle, Markus, Noah, Sylvie & Claude The Canadian/German family :)

Eduardo and Alicia were very friendly (and even spoke a little English)! They arranged for Eddy, a cab driver, to pick us up (family of 5) from the airport, and he was waiting for us as we got off the plane. Calca is about 4 or 5 kilometers from his house, and Eduardo and his wife took us to the market there to buy groceries, and also showed us how to use the bus system between there and Cusco. We recommend going to the museum at the bottom of the hill from his house (10 min walk)--we spent about 3 hours there, and we really enjoyed it. Alicia made us an incredible meal for a small charge. They also arranged a taxi for us to go to Ollantaytambo, and back to Cusco when we left. The kids enjoyed the foosball table on the porch. A really great place to relax and enjoy the view! The house was plenty big for a family of 5, and we did not even use all of the bedrooms. The showers were hot and full pressure. We would Definately stay here again!
