This place is properly named So Cheap, but as far as So Chic, I'm not so sure. It is a place to lay your head, but just make sure you check for little critters. The place is very outdated and needs some renovating. I happened to look under the bed to look for some of my items, and found lots of dust. It's everywhere. I'm not sure if this is a Marrakesh thing, but we weren't given any toilet paper -even after I had bought it to our hosts attention. The best part is the pool. It can be really refreshing. The only issue is that there's bird poop and feather in the pool, but the guys working the riad were nice to clean it out and add some chlorine on our second day there, which made for better swimming conditions. The location of the riad is very conventional, although the first night it was very difficult to make our way there. I think our driver, who was fine to us by our host, purposely gave us the wrong directions because he had to wait at the airport for us for so long. Anyways the riad is located in the medina, a few minutes walk from. The square Jamaa el Fna. It is also not far from a few other tourists attractions, restaurants, local hammam and eateries. The managers were very kind. Kaseem (I hope that's right) was very helpful with answering my questions and suggesting places to eat and giving us and idea of what we should be charged for taxis and such. Overall if you're looking for a cheap place, this is it. As for me, I don't think I'd go back here. Over cheap, I prefer cleanliness, and I have a huge dislike for bugs.

This place was in such an amazing location! 2 min walk from the square, 5 min walk from great restaurants. breakfast was delicious for only 35 dirham. Pool is small but perfect for a dip in the middle of the day. Not easy to find but I am sure you can ask around. We paid a boy to show us the way for $4. Roof is beautiful and rooms were a perfect size. I really enjoyed the shower as well. No aircon but we didn't need it anyway as the room was a perfect temperature at all times.

The staff was genuinely friendly. We had some internet problem for a few days. It was a matter of rebooting the modem. The staff were apologetic for this issue. On the bright side, we had breakfast at the terrace. The view from the roof deck was amazing and the breakfast was delicious. Coupled with Moroccan tea, everything was fantastic. The room was spacious and clean. There are plenty of Moroccan restaurants nearby. Overall, I am satisfied with the staff's warm and friendly service. The beautiful riad is a bonus.

The Riad is conveniently located near the Souk and other attractions to walk to, or easy to grab a cab if needed. The pool is the best part, always cool and shaded by some beautiful trees in the center courtyard (lots of little birds in the trees, loved the sound of them, but there is some feathers and bird-poop in/around the pool FYI, no issue for us!). As ditigial nomads, the WIFI was not as dependable as needed, but definitely strong enough for the average person. There is NO A/C, which is important to note depending on the month of travel to Marrakesh, but also no fans in the room which was the only issue for us as it was over 100 degrees when we were there. The roof terrace and pool offered some great relaxation and cool breezes during non-peak sun hours. This is a "budget riad" so we did not have super high expectations, and enjoyed our stay. The staff was extremely friendly, good communication, and helpful coordinating transportation needs.

The little pool offered great refuge from the hot mid-day sun. Very clean and well run. Great location, as easy as it can be to find anything in Marakesh! Would stay at again in a heatbeat for the price a real deal.
