This is a secluded and quiet one bedroom cottage, a 30-second walk to Muni light rail and Dolores Park. BART is a 15-minute walk from our front door.
You'll be a 5-15 minute walk to the boutiques and restaurants of Valencia St and Noe Valley, and to the hustle bustle of the Mission and Castro. Tartine bakery, Birite grocery and creamery and Delfina Restaurant are a few minutes walk. Muni will take you to the financial district and Embarcadero in 25 minutes, and BART wil take you to all those places and more, including the airport and East Bay.
The cottage is flooded with light from walls of South- and East-facing windows, with views of the East Bay and Mt Diablo.
There is a living room, a reading room, a kitchen, bathroom and two decks. The rear deck has a clawfoot tub with hot running water - few things beat sitting in a hot bath under the open sky! The interior bathroom has a skylight and Heath tiles throughout.
The cottage has high speed wireless internet. The kitchen is decorated with Heath tiles and is stocked with a full set of Le Creuset cast-iron cookware.
There are suitcase stands for guests, but unfortunately no clothes closets.
Shoes are removed inside the front door (no shoes in the house), hardwood floors throughout with subfloor radiant heating.
The bed is Cal King Tempurpedic. Street parking only.
Please write with a little about yourself and what brings you to San Francisco.
Loved our stay, the place was perfect and in the perfect location to allow for walking or jumpng on the muni. Keep in mind there isn't a TV but we didn't need one with so much to do. Shower is a bit tuff to sort out but once u do it a couple times it's fine. Overall great place to stay, would stay again.

I LOVED MY STAY at Louise's and Andrew's cottage! Communication was a breeze and I felt like they were very approachable when I had questions. The home itself is just a couple minutes from Dolores Park and very close to lots of shops and restaurants. It is a calm and serene place to go after a day and night of being out in the Mission. The bed is pretty heavenly and you can expect a restful night's sleep. In the morning, you will be greeted by sunshine and the songs of hummingbirds from the garden below. There are so many places to go within walking distance, I can't get into all the specifics. I enjoyed Bi-Rite Creamery (despite the line going to the street corner, it moved along pretty fast). And if you choose to leave the area, the public transportation situation is pretty easy to navigate and in general the people I met were very friendly and happy to help guide me. I will say, coming from a smaller city, I thought I would have to worry a little more about safety, but all times that I was out, I did not feel unsafe. Anyway, if you have the chance to visit SF in the Castro/Noe/Mission area, I highly recommend this place. What a beautiful and serene retreat, so close to everything the city has to offer!
This quaint cottage on the border of the Mission and the Castro is a hidden oasis with a distinctive zen atmosphere. It's quite spacious and has a really well equipped kitchen (the best I've encountered in an Airbnb space). Three large windows overlooked a stunning view of the city and let in loads of golden sunlight. It was definitely in the thick of things, steps to Dolores Park, Tartine and Bi-Rite (perfect for cooking a gourmet meal at home). Had to park my car way up the hill to avoid restrictions, but it was very doable. Shower water temperature was a bit temperamental, however not at all a deal breaker. Easy and flexible check-in and out was a dream!
My parents were visiting and hotels were outrageously expensive, so I thought I'd give airbnb a shot. I found Louise's beautiful cottage and booked it immediately. It turned out to be as wonderful as the pictures and we perfect for my parents. They said the Tempurpedic bed was wonderful, it was very clean, great location and Louise was so easy to reach and very responsive. The only thing I would note is there isn't a TV in the cottage, but other than that, it was perfect. I highly recommend this place for your upcoming stay!
We had the pleasure of staying at Louise's cottage for a week. We didn't meet the hosts, but we were able to coordinate everything through Airbnb messaging and didn't run into any problems. Cosy, charming and with every convenience that we could have possibly wished for. The cottage itself is in an absolutely prime location (restaurants, Dolores Park,...). The view on San Francisco is amazing. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom fabulous, the kitchen well-stocked, and everything spotlessly clean. We'd stay again!
I just came back from a fabulous week at Louise's lovely cottage in the Mission. The cottage was light-filled, peaceful, and immaculate. Beautiful hardwood floors and an uncluttered atmosphere. Louise was out of town, but she thoughtfully left some nuts, wine, and other little welcome gifts for us. She had even set up an extra table for me so that I could do a little work! The location of the cottage is also ideal, just a few blocks from fantastic food (Nami Gaji, Tartine) and a cute grocery store (Bi-Rite). The park is safe and extremely charming. Public transportation less than 1 block away. I highly recommend this place!
Louise was an extremely thoughtful host! From the clear instructions she emailed before our arrival to the list of tips for how things worked, it was clear that Louise had thought of everything. Her welcoming touch was everywhere-- from the fresh flowers on the table to a welcome sheet that told us where to get coffee. Her house is simply beautiful and was a wonderful retreat right in the middle of the city.
Great location, great apartment, and great hosts! Louise's place is clean and minimalist. Very calming with wonderful views from the hill. The location really can not be beat in San Francisco with easy walks to the Mission, Castro, or Noe Valley. The Muni is literally down the block and so is Mission Dolores park. My girlfriend and I felt very comfortable here while we were staying in the city.
This was my first time using airbnb rather than staying in a hotel, and I'm pretty sure I am now spoiled. My experience was absolutely wonderful. First of all, the place is really lovely --- the pictures don't do it justice. It was spacious and clean, there is a fabulous view and outdoor space to enjoy, and the location is great. It's literally half a block away from Dolores Park and is within walking distance of some great restaurants. Louise was a terrific host! We walked in to detailed instructions about anything we would need from where the fluffy white towels were located to how to get to the nearest grocery store. She took care of all the little details that would make our stay more comfortable, and should my travels take me back to San Francisco anytime soon, I would definitely want to stay here again.
