Interaction with Guests
I give my guests all the information about how to get to the appartment, accordingly to the way they are travelling to Lisbon, if by plane, car or train. I meet them in the appartment, to show the house and see if there is anything they might need, and also to explain where they are in the city and how to get to the places they want to visit.
My friends and I stayed in Lisbon for the weekend and this was the perfect location. It was right across the street from a beautiful view of the city and had a lot of restaurants and bars to choose from. The apartment was great and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend.
Recomendo!
Nice appartement with all facilities in city center. Well located in Bairro Alto, there are bars and restaurants close which make it a bit noisy friday and saturday night, but if you are a good sleeper it should be ok. We went in February and we weren't cold.
Michael is nice and flexible, we arrived later than planned and he received us with a bottle of wine and bread.
We recommend this place to visit Lisboa.
The apartment was perfectly located in the outgoing area with lots of bars and restaurants. It is also excellent for us (2 people), but it can also serve 3 persons. We found a bottle of wine, there were the most relevant items for breakfast, such as butter and bread, and there were sufficient towels and other toilet necessities. The house was clean and nicely decorated. We were very satisfied.
The disadvantage was the fact that the apartment is rather dark as there is only one window at the front. But as we were there mostly in the night that was not such a problem. Only the nightclub at the corner of the street produced quite a lot of drunken youngsters passing the windows during after midnight.
Michael was a great host and very accommodating. We arrived late on Thursday evening and were greeted by Michael's father who let us into the flat, gave us tour and even left some snacks and wine! The apartment is in the ideal neighborhood of Lisbon of those who like to go out. It's a very lively neighborhood and could be a bit on the loud side for those with small children. Perfect accommodation for younger people and can definitely fit 5 comfortably! Cute ambience and very centrally located in the Bairro Alto! And a great price!
I am portuguese, the son of Alan, an american who was born in Paris ( His english mother and american father met in UNESCO where they both worked). He loved Lisbon and settled here. He has two children, daughter and son , and we all speak the three languages at home.
We travel a lot, having family and friends in several countries, in Europe and the United States. Alan, as an engineer, works sometimes in Africa.
I love having people in the Bairro Alto apartment. It is a very special kind of neighborhood . Sometimes the night life and all the restaurants hide the charm of the ancient streets. If you come to visit take time to notice the people who live here, the neighbours who talk from window to window and who still take care of each other.
