Hints and Tips
In a maze of narrow, cobbled streets, where noble houses stand together with more modest ones, modern designers have their fashion shops and art galleries that stay open late at night. Animated night life with all sorts of restaurants, bars, and all kinds of music, from the traditional fado to the latest DJs. Visit the Chiado with its elegant shops and cafes, theaters, opera, museums and historical monuments.
Interaction with guests
I give my guests all the information about how to get to the appartment, accordingly to the way they are travelling to Lisbon, if by plane, car or train. I meet them in the appartment, to show the house and see if there is anything they might need, and also to explain where they are in the city and how to get to the places they want to visit.
I am portuguese, the daughter of Alan, an american who was born in Paris ( His english mother and american father met in UNESCO where they both worked) and of Isabel, a Portuguese artist. My dad fell love with my mom and with Lisbon so they settled here. They had two children, daughter and son , and we all speak the three languages at home.
We travel a lot, having family and friends in several countries in Europe and in the United States. Alan, as an engineer, works sometimes in Africa.
I love having people in the Bairro Alto apartment. It is a very special kind of neighborhood . Sometimes the night life and all the restaurants hide the charm of the ancient streets. If you come to visit take time to notice the people who live here, the neighbours who talk from window to window and who still take care of each other.
