Located just 10 kilometers (6 Miles) from the foot of the Monte Conero, Porto Recanati is one of the most sought out summer vacation place in the Marche region on the Adriatic Coast. Clean water and sandy beaches create the perfect environment for a perfect relaxing situation. Acces to the town is easy and smooth, by car or by public transportation. The "Autostrada" (A14) exit is just two kilometers outside the town and the train station, located in the center of town, is only 150 meters (450 feet) from us. The nearest airport is in Falconara (AOI), a little north of Ancona, is a 30 minute ride by car. The cost of a taxi from the airport is around 60 Euros. You also have alternative options with public transportation which it will take a little longer, but definitely much cheaper. Our house is located in the center of main street on the 3th floor and from the terrace we have a view of the sea, as we don't have a building in front of us. The best part is the fact that it only takes 3 minute to get to the beach, unless you are stopping for a "Cappuccino and Croissant" on the way. There is plenty of shopping within 5 minutes walk and even more opportunities to indulge in some artisanal "gelato" or a luxurious "Aperitivo".
My place has a fully equipped kitchen, laundry machine and new AC/Heating split system with a unit in each room.
Other things to note
Porto Recanati has been a bathing resort for more than one century. Being situated at the seaside with the marvelous frame of the Monte Conero it offers the tourist the possibility to spend serene and relaxing holidays. To those who come to visit her, she presents herself as a lovely town of fishermen with the sea being the natural place of relaxation and holiday. The beach promenade, completely closed to the traffic, invites you to take relaxing walks among the typical houses in every minute of the day. Numerous traditional events contribute to render Porto Recanati a city even more pleasant.
If you have a pet, keep in mind that we have a few cats in the house. They are pretty much confined into the other apartments, but the scent is there anyway. This also means that we have access to a good veterinarian. Something to keep in mind. If you have toddlers, the place is NOT CHILD PROOF. We do have an insurance on the building (mostly common halls) and, if you are not a EU resident, it is MANDATORY BY THE LAW that we register you as a "temporary guest" with the local authorities. Not a big deal, just more paper work for me. There is a "Manual" in house with all the instructions about the washing machine, AC, etc, along with a "Emergency Phone Numbers" list.
For a prolonged stay, over a week, the guests are responsible for the linens laundry and the regular daily cleaning and maintenance of the apartment. This is a "working" apartment, so we do have mops, brooms, vacuum cleaner and everything else needed for the regular maintenance of the place.

I grew up in Porto Recanati, on the Adriatic Coast of Italy. After coming to New York and working as a commercial photographer for many years, I became a Chef and Restaurant Owner, creating handcrafted foods in the spirit of "farm to table" philosophy.
