Located just 10 kilometers (6 Miles) from the foot of the Monte Conero, Porto Recanati is one of the most sought out summer vacation place in the Marche region on the Adriatic Coast. Clean water and sandy beaches create the perfect environment for a perfect relaxing situation. Acces to the town is easy and smooth, by car or by public transportation. The "Autostrada" (A14) exit is just two kilometers outside the town and the train station, located in the center of town, is only 150 meters (450 feet) from us. The nearest airport is in Falconara (AOI), a little north of Ancona, is a 30 minute ride by car. The cost of a taxi from the airport is around 60 Euros. You also have alternative options with public transportation which it will take a little longer, but definitely much cheaper. Our house is located in the center of main street on the 3th floor and from the terrace we have a view of the sea, as we don't have a building in front of us. The best part is the fact that it only takes 3 minute to get to the beach, unless you are stopping for a "Cappuccino and Croissant" on the way. There is plenty of shopping within 5 minutes walk and even more opportunities to indulge in some artisanal "gelato" or a luxurious "Aperitivo".
My place has a fully equipped kitchen, laundry machine and new AC/Heating split system with a unit in each room.
If you have a pet, keep in mind that we have a few cats in the house. They are pretty much confined into the other apartments, but the scent is there anyway. This also means that we have access to a good veterinarian. Something to keep in mind. If you have toddlers, the place is NOT CHILD PROOF. We do have an insurance on the building (mostly common halls) and, if you are not a EU resident, it is MANDATORY BY THE LAW that we register you as a "temporary guest" with the local authorities. Not a big deal, just more paper work for me. There is a "Manual" in house with all the instructions about the washing machine, AC, etc, along with a "Emergency Phone Numbers" list.
For a prolonged stay, over a week, the guests are responsible for the linens laundry and the regular daily cleaning and maintenance of the apartment. This is a "working" apartment, so we do have mops, brooms, vacuum cleaner and everything else needed for the regular maintenance of the place.
Super location on the town's main drag, wonderful airy flat and welcoming host; the air conditioning is useful when you want to shut out the noise of the shoppers outside; minutes from the beach and all amenities - highly recommended and we will be back ourselves!
Soggiorno pressoché perfetto . Appartamento centralissimo, luminoso, confortevole e ben attrezzato, con un magnifico terrazzo vista mare ideale x trascorrere momenti davvero speciali. Esperienza da ripetere!!!!
Just came back after a few days in Italy at Albano's place. Great flat, very cosy yet spacious, with fully equipped kitchen and the most wonderful thing- the location!
Absolutely recommend and would totally go back again!
Stayed with my girlfriend one week in September 2013. The flat is beautiful, with as a feeling of a home, not a holidays flat, only 3 minutes away walking from the beach. The internet connection is also very good (wi-fi). The terrace has a wonderful view of the sea, we had breakfast everyday out there. The people that greeted us upon arrival were very kind and helpful (grazie!). We will definitely go back, hopefully soon. Recommended.
Ci siamo trovati molto bene! Ottima accoglienza e disponibilitá da parte dell'host. Una sistemaziome ideale per chi vuole visitare le bellezze di questa magnifica regione.
Albano is really great host ready to help with all inquiries we've had in course of our stay. He provided us with child bed and organized all formalities required by local authorities.
Porto Recanati is beautiful small sea side town full of live. It does not look like tourist location, but rather as a place where italians are spending their holidays in August.
In comarison with Rome and other large cities of Italy in August Porto Recanati's life is very active and apartment is located just at the main street of the town with cafes, restaurants and shops around. That street is closed for cars in the eveneing to let people walk (don't leave your car parked on that street at Sunday because of local Sunday fair).
It is just 5 min walk from the apartment to the nice pebble beach and at the huge balcony you may observe the see and fantastic fireworks at Ferragosto (15th of August).
Apartment is just great. It really looks like Albano just left it yesterday. I mean it does not look like flat for rent but rather as a home. Rooms are clean, good equipped with all you need and in rather good condition.
During the stay we've faced just two minor problems - WiFi suddenly stopped working for one day but was promptly recovered, and hot water boiler require some time to get used to it.

I grew up in Porto Recanati, on the Adriatic Coast of Italy. After coming to New York and working as a commercial photographer for many years, I opened Aliseo Osteria in 2003 and in 2005 I opened Amorina Cucina Rustica. Aliseo and Amorina are considered 2 of the mainstay of Brooklyn, creating handcrafted foods, in the spirit of "farm to table" philosophy. On February 7th, 2014 I opened a new restaurant with live music called The Classon Social Club, located just 2 blocks from the Brooklyn Museum.
