Il Fienile, a finely refurbished barn is a wonderful 2 bedroom apartment (sleeps 4) in rural Tuscany, just 7km from Lucca and 13 km from Pisa. It features a lovely shared pool and terrace area with reserved seating for the apartment.
Beautifully located in the wilds of western Tuscany is this gorgeous converted farmhouse.
The countryside around the apartment is utterly charming and very typical of Tuscany’s lush green valleys with its gently undulating hills covered in vine yards and olive groves. These rural areas can be explored in many ways and we do recommend either hiring a car or bicycles to really get a good look round, but bus tours are available. But just because you start in the country, it doesn’t mean you have to stay there for the duration of your holiday. The beach is not far away and the Tyrrhenian coast is one of the unsung highlights of Tuscany. Viareggio is Tuscany’s largest coastal city and it is only 30km away. The beach is excellent and stretches for miles. One of Italy’s foremost Carnivals takes place in Viareggio every spring. The iconic paper mache floats and masked parades are world famous and quite a sight to behold. Other smaller resort towns dot the coast, including Forte dei Marmi, which has been an exclusive destination for the Italy’s wealth and nobility for centuries.
Many of the buildings original features have been retained and incorporated into the design of the living space. A mezzanine level has been constructed to create a charming bedroom which contains two single beds that can be pushed together to make a double. On the ground floor there are also bunk beds, meaning this lovely apartment can comfortably sleep a family of 4.
The kitchen is small but well equipped and more than capable of producing meals that can be enjoyed in the separate dining area, the cosy lounge area or outdoors on the terrace in the fabulous Italian sunshine.
You have access to a outside patio and dining area, aswell as having the pool to use during your stay.
Interaction with Guests
The property is owned by my Uncle Luca Rivetti, who will greet you upon arrival.
Living and working on site he is always present to assist you with any requirement you may need. He will give you keys and all instructions on arrival.
La Corte Rusticuccia is a typical old Tuscan Farm house and an ideal place to stay with family and friends in Tuscany. There is a swimming pool pool available for guest between middle May and the end of September.
On the way to Lucca you will find many stores for your house shopping: I can recommend “Penny Market” (a cash and carry shop) and “Esselunga” where you will find all what you may need for the house (pay attention! On Sunday most of time they are closed).
Despite the sense of seclusion that retreating to the countryside provides, you are never far from the delights that Tuscany has to offer.
La Corte della Rusticuccia is conveniently located in the countryside just 5km from Lucca, 70km from Florence and just 25 minutes away from Pisa international airport, just 18km away.
There are bars and restaurants within 2km of the property and the sandy beaches of the the Versilian Riviera are only 35km away for a bit of VIP night life.
There are also 5 golf courses within a radius of 50 km.
The idyllic rural setting of this magnificent property makes it the perfect destination for anybody who wants to escape to the countryside for a relaxing holiday.
