Staying at Joe & Liz's villa was - probably the best - part of a memorable 2 week trip we had in Costa Rica.
The villa on AirBnb stood out to me because I was looking for a high quality resident for my family's first trip to the country.
Then I met Joe, before leaving to CR, and was very pleasantly surprised by the friendliness, attention to detail and care in instructing me about everything.
We stayed at the villa as our first destination before going to Tamarindo.
It was a high end experience... and I am quite picky.
The place is newly built at quite high altitude and it is an exquisite construction - I am passionate about construction.
No matter where in the house we could see the valley tens of kilometers away. On clear days we could see Guanacaste and ocean.
All around one case see coffee fields, lower down the edge of tropical forest and in some areas even pine trees - Costa Rica is surprising this way.
Over the next few days the time slowed down and we could feel the stress of North American living leave room to more strategic thinking about our future.
The small community of expats around is worth knowing and we became friends quite easily with a few of them.
Felt among family.
Then, we spent 4 days in Flamingo loading with sun and the ocean.
On the way back we passed by the house again and could appreciate again the freshness that comes with the higher altitudes.
If you are looking for a mix of time off, recharging, realigning with your true purpose and taste living in Costa Rica then do not go to a resort.
Consider our experience!
