'El fawekeh street' Means 'the fruits street'. It's a great street that is quiet, rare in the center of Cairo! Surrounded by trees and birds. Walking distance to everything you need. Fruit sellers near the house and the bread guy passing all the time. European supermarket 5 mins walk away. Lots of restaurants very close to the house. The Main Street 'gamet el dawel' is 10 mins walk away.
24 hour security guard.
Self contained double apartment on the rooftop. Not overlooked, so very private. In the apartment there is a bathroom with shower and kitchen with fridge, hob, grill, microwave, cups, plates etc. Also you will have access to the main apartment (except my room obviously) Main living areas, back terrace with BBQ, Bathroom with shower and bath.
Living room with flat screen tv, surround sound and about a thousand channels in all different languages.
Wireless internet that reaches all rooms.
You will have access to my fitness studio that is in the main apartment. Dance, fitness and yoga. Please note I have a dog at the property, but she's really friendly and well behaved. My past guests say she's bigger than she looks in the picture. Honestly she's such a sweet dog and has never bitten anyone and doesn't destroy stuff. (She's a lazy dog)
Access also to the main apartment (except my room obviously and the other bedroom which is my other listing)
If you want to help me with making the garden amazing... green fingers welcome!
Interaction with Guests
I am very sociable, but I am also super busy. I like to interact but not sure how much time I will have. I get on with all different types of people. :)
The street is called 'the fruits'
The most central area! My street is very safe and everyone knows everyone.
Everything you need is within walking distance, there is even a European supermarket within 5 minutes walk.
A few minutes walk to the main road 'gamet el dawel' where you will find a million taxi's. It's cheap to use taxi's here. Most journey's are less then 2 euros. If you have a car there is parking on the street. Taxi's at the airport are annoying and a rip-off! I can help you get a driver from here. It will cost about 20euros. Directly to the door. :)
Other Things to Note
In cairo you can order anything you want to your house! Most places are open late so don't worry if you are hungry late at night!
Drinking is not entirely socially acceptable in Cairo. You can drink as much as you want but don't make it obvious when coming or going from the house. Please try not to make noise in the main hallway. Music should be turned low at 11. Girls, please watch what you wear. Cover legs, breasts and shoulders. I allow pets. I have a dog. She is a very sweet dog and never bites, and rarely barks. I am not a smoker but don't mind if you smoke. Cigarettes are soooo cheap here, sheeshas are also popular. You are also welcome to buy a sheesha and smoke on the balcony. I can help you set it up. Also I have a BBQ on the balcony. :D p.s you can order beers to the house too. ;)
About the Host, Mia
The new house is so much bigger. I have 2 listings to make it easier. One is the main apartment (where I live with my lovely husband Shady and my dog Pampa) The other listing is a self contained apartment on our rooftop garden. Only accessible through the main apartment.
Shady studied natural heritage and can be a great guide for those who are interested in history. Me I am a social butterfly working on a new fitness concept here in Egypt. I will spend most of my time working on that. Mostly from home. I have a dance studio in the house. I'm sure I will be a great host because I will tell about all the cool places. The best thing about my place is the size. Located in a super safe and friendly neighborhood, great to just stroll around and watch all the crazy people. You will find a lot of shops and restaurants in the area. I am not Egyptian but I know how to cook amazing Egyptian food and maybe my guests will get lucky and catch me on a 'cooking day' I love looking after people. I know how to give people space too. We have WiFi that you can use all over the house and a desk to study at. We have a television with a thousand channels and a thousand take-out menus if you want to relax at the house and order something. I have traveled a lot so usually end up speaking to travelers about places. Shady is also very sociable and usually has friends over. They usually don't stay long and they are very decent and polite. Sometimes we play games such as monopoly or poker and our guests are very welcome to join in on anything. Other times we all lay on the floor and watch movies. We are both very open people so if you have any questions just ask! We look forward to hosting you. :)
