Description

The space

Enjoy our antiques and privacy. This room has two twin beds and a double futon. Great for a family traveling with kid(s). Ask us about farmstead meals, and let us know about your special requests. Bring a cooler for you farm purchases- we can load you up! Close to Bristol for the races or Rhythm and Roots. Close to Johnson City or Jonesborough for their special events. Quiet and relaxed- no cell access! Unplug!

Visit with goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese and guineas. Play with our dogs and cats, relax and read, or pick organic produce. You are welcome to join us on our farm chores if you bring your boots, but you are also welcome to use our home as your base for visiting the region. Enjoy the sounds of our animals in the mornings and the quiet in the evenings!

You may spend as much time as you care to with us. We can plan meals with you and for you if you care to, or we can help you plan visits to local attractions and restaurants. If you do not want to spend time with us, just plan to come and go without us. If you need us we are here!

We are out in the sticks! No city here, just small town amenities, and they are a bit limited. We love the quiet, the woods, fields, animals and lack of traffic. This is the heart of bluegrass and old time music, so let us know if you are interested- we will hook you up!

There is no public transport. We could pick you up, but then you are stuck with us!

Laundry available, not suitable for folks with allergies, outdoor parking available on the property. No smoking in the house, we may allow your well behaved pet with advance notice, moderate alcohol acceptable, no drugs.

What a wonderful stay! Such a charming place, and charming people. My puppy and I stayed one night while we were driving halfway across country and we loved it!! With all of the other dogs, animals and open space, she had a blast! They made me a delicious dinner, a delicious breakfast and made me feel right at home! And their lovely daughter, Emma, showed me all around their farm in the morning. If you love animals, and are looking for a warm, rustic, homey stay, look no further!

This was wonderful experience to see real hard working farmers in their daily environment and hard work. The friendliness of this family is beyond description, they will do anything to make you comfortable and have a good time. The abundance of animals around makes this any animal lover's dream!

Assuming you love animals - especially big dogs - and the organized chaos of farm life, Jem is a gem!, Had a great stay @ Jem Farm. Hosts Elizabeth and John are down-to-earth, gracious, and friendly. Communication was a breeze. The room was well appointed and comfortable. Family-style dinner provided for an extra charge. Would love to come back, stay a few days, and help out on the farm.

Small family, organic farmers by trade. Visit with livestock and use our home as a base for your activities in this pretty part of the TN mountains. Spend as much, or as little time as you care to with us, and if you would like, we will fix you farm breakfast and farmhouse dinners.
