This was our first experience using Air BnB and we couldn't have made a better choice for our first time! St. Angel features a calm, cool and inviting retreat nestled in an area surrounded by Oak Creek. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed our time here and hope to return again someday. The host(s) were friendly and offered good conversation at the end of our long day.
Puma was awesome, the room and surrounding nature were unbelievable. Very grateful for the night we spent there!
We only stayed one night and were not able to get the full experience of the trails on her property. Puma was very welcoming and the room was comfy. However the doors don't have locks and this specific room is right off the main room so it is easy to hear people talking in the kitchen. Make sure to ask for directions (our gps was wrong). Also the road to her house is a dirt road and is very rough. The outdoor tub is AMAZING :)
My husband and I stayed one night in Puma's Gratitude Room at Grace Grove. Had we not had to return to Phoenix for work, we would have loved to extend our stay as it pleasantly exceeded our expectations.
We reserved our room last minute (day of stay) and were very pleased with Puma's prompt response and thorough communication.
Grace Grove is beautifully nestled in the countryside amongst trees and Oak Creek, and upon arrival Puma greeted us and gave us information about the property and showed us to our room. She also recommended a local winery, Page Springs, and drew a map on how to get there.
We took her recommendation and had a lovely evening at the winery, and then returned to Grace Grove where we took in some star gazing and enjoyed the sauna before retiring to our room.
We slept peacefully and comfortably in the organic, king size bed in the Gratitude Room, and would highly recommend this room to other traveling couples.
In the morning we woke up to a tea bar and freshly brewed coffee. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the rooftop deck, and then took a walk along the creek. The serene morning was topped off with basking in the hammock.
If you're in need of peace, relaxation, and/or connection with nature, this is the place to stay. The fresh air, the bubbling creek, the trees rustling in the breeze, the clean room and cozy bed, along with the bright stars at night will have you feeling grounded and re-charged.
Thank you, Puma, for being a wonderful host and for allowing us the opportunity to experience your beautiful home and retreat.
We highly recommend booking a stay here, but do yourself a favor, and book at least two nights!
My significant other and I needed a rustic getaway to escape the demands of our businesses and city life. I knew Sedona would be a perfect destination for this needed R&R. We wanted to stray away from the commercialized tourist resorts and do something more organic and true to Sedona so we decided to look on airbnb. That's when we found Puma's place which is a holistic retreat center and when she's not running a program she rents out the individual rooms on airbnb.
I've hosted on airbnb but this was my first experience as a guest.
Puma was very communicative and prompt in responding to my request and questions. She also sent a long overview of the property, access codes, policies, etc. Prior to booking you should know that this is an alcohol free property. While this was not a problem for us, I did overlook that prior to my arrival and we brought a couple of beers to enjoy on her upper deck (gorgeous view of the starry night sky). Later that evening, I read her intro letter and realized this was violating her house rules so we promptly got rid of this...and while she DOES disclose this on her welcome letter, it's not specified prior to booking.
Puma was on site when we arrived and gave us a quick overview of our room and the property layout. She was amiable and helpful and very flexible on our arrival times and made us feel very welcome to come and go as we pleased. Very low key and relaxing attitude which was what we were looking for.
We were in the gratitude room (king bed) - the bed and linens were very comfortable and we had an overall very relaxing stay. There were no locks on our doors and this was an issue the first night when we had someone come in our room twice in the middle of the night. This was very disconcerting but it didn't happen again the rest of our stay.
Puma provided clean linens, water on the property is clean, hot water in the sink and showers is dispensed quickly...and although we didn't use the kitchen during our 3 day stay, it looked to have everything you needed if you wanted to cook for yourself.
The property is located sort of in the middle of nowhere but that was exactly what we wanted. If you want great stargazing, relaxation, and to truly get away from the tourist traps but still have comfort amenities, this is a great option - plus you can't beat the price.
My time staying there was very relaxing and I had much more available to me than I expected. Very highly recommended!
We proceeded through the mystical winding road of the northern Arizona hills and landed at the perfect retreat destination. The retreat center was well appointed and contained a great environment to relax and commune with nature and the other interesting guest.
Puma was very responsive and the on site staff very helpful.
