Beautiful Spanish inspired room with two windows overlooking the backyard. Bed has a memory foam topper, & a variety of comfy pillows and extra blankets. Robes and slippers in the closet. Complimentary snacks and water. Velvet curtains for light blocking. Mounted TV with access to Youtube TV, AmazonPrime, and Netflix. Bathroom next to the room, shared with one very thoughtful long term guest. Large stocked kitchen available. Traveling nurses- inquire for long term discount.

The space
Inspired by our recent trip to Barcelona, my girlfriend and I designed this room to reflect our love for travel, and to bring a bit of that adventure back home. Warm colors, rich fabrics and tapestries, and deep wood tones are complimented by original art on the walls. The Spanish chandelier in the corner is an antique, original to the house, and is on a dimmer to create just the right mood.
I've provided robes and slippers in the closet so you can feel comfortable coming out to the kitchen or using the shared bathroom, while enjoying your vacation or stay.
You wont go hungry here! Naya and I love hosting, and are more then happy to share our full kitchen with you. We've labeled the cupboards to help you find anything you need- from pots and pans, to spices and oil, or just a special handmade mug for that morning coffee. While I don't advertise breakfast, I do provide many options to keep you satisfied- bagels and cream-cheese, yogurts in the fridge, fruit, and pastries are often available on the guest bar. Ask about my fresh chicken eggs! If I have extra, I'll gladly share!
Speaking of coffee, there is a Nespresso machine in the kitchen with a milk frothier for making that perfect latte. Milk, and cream are in the fridge on shelves marked "communal" If you are staying longer then a week, I'll designate an entire shelf just for your things.

Bathroom is shared with Ian; my very quiet, and thoughtful roommate for the last two years. He considers himself monastic, and will do his best to stay out of your way, but is always happy to answer questions if Im not around.
Bathroom includes: Hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, bathwash, misc toiletries, iron and ironing board.

Laundry available: $5 load
Fan in bedroom
Home is heated to 68 in the winter and air conditioned in the summer.

I am an artist, and my home is filled with personal artworks, as well as fantastic pieces I have collected over the years. I hope you will enjoy the eclectic nature of my home and feel comfortable sharing the many spaces it offers. It is very quiet here, with plenty of spaces to sit and relax- including the entire backyard and patio. I have two dogs and one cat, which are unobtrusive to guests, aside from an initial bark at greeting. If you aren't big dog people, they will leave you alone, if you are- they will gladly take all the pets you have to offer. If you prefer other pets, I have a turtle on the lower level of the house, and chickens at the cottage next door! You are more then welcome to visit them all.

Where you’ll be

Seattle, Washington, United States

10mn from the airport, 20mn from downtown by car.
We are rated a great location for quick access to the airport, as well as being in a quiet and safe neighborhood.

Downtown Burien is lovely, and just a mile south of us. If you aren't up for going into the big city, you can enjoy plenty of restaurants, cafes, breweries, bakeries and even a local movie theatre which plays off the cuff productions each week. Burien also hosts a fantastic farmers market every Thursday, May- September.

For food options even closer, there is a highly ranked Thai restaurant across the street that is worth getting. 7-11 one block away, and a breakfast dinner three blocks away.
Fred Meyer Grocery is within walking distance - similar to a Walmart- food, clothes, home basics, hot food bar, and a Starbucks.

For activities:
-SeaHurst park is gorgeous and on the waterfront- a good long walk, or 5mn drive, but worth it.
-Highline botanical Gardens is a free Japanese garden- also within walking distance.

-I live on the same block as St Vincent DePaul- which is a second hand store. This often attracts people who drop off unwanted items in the back alley- making it a rather unsightly drive. I apologize in advance for this, but hope you will not hold this against the quality and comfort of my own home. I suggest accessing my home via 134th st SW, and backing out instead of continuing through the alley. You are also welcome to park on 134th St SW, and walk in from the street to my back gate entrance.
-Overall, this is considered a very safe neighborhood, with a great community of neighbors that care about each-other.

I love coffee and consider myself a huge foodie- I embrace all stereotypes of the word! Seattle is home to amazing restaurants- of which I am happy to share my favorites. I cook a lot at home and try to eat as clean as possible--but if you bring me homemade bread I won’t refuse. Currently I’m in medical school at UWSOM so I often rely on my dear friend/ roommate, Edmund to help welcome guests and be available if I’m not able to be home when you arrive. When I was a little girl, I fell in love with the "Beef- its whats for dinner!" commercial. Friends were always welcome--there was always enough food, and a place to sleep. You belonged. This is how I live my life today. My guests are my passion. Strangers are always welcome- and there will always be enough food. If you need something you have only to ask. I find that having a 2400 sf home with two levels, gives everyone the space they need. It's not perfect- but it is a home, and it will be your home as long as you stay.

During your stay

I provide an independent environment that is flexible for guests to come and go as they please and with the privacy they desire. If you wish to meet me, please reach out via a message and let me know so I can make sure I don't miss this opportunity! I love sharing my home, and while I don't always meet every guest, when I do, I happily share all that I can about this beautiful city that I love! If you are more private and like to keep to yourself, I respect that. You shouldn't feel pressure to interact. Just come and go as you please.
