Newly renovated cabin on the mountains of the western Catskills. There is a full kitchen, dishwasher, washer/dryer, an assortment of books, board games, puzzles and an indoor wood burning stove.

There is reliable, high speed fiber optic internet/wifi for all your streaming needs. There is no TV.

Note: In winter you will NEED a vehicle with AWD or 4WD to reach the cabin. The final .75 mile of the drive is on a dirt road that is plowed but very difficult for a regular car to get up or down.

The space
Our cabin is ideal for couples looking to get away, where privacy is not essential. The cabin is intentionally open concept (with the exception of the bathroom) so you can enjoy the views and mountain air from any room. We like to think its somewhere between minimalist and cozy.

The main source of heat is the wood burning stove for the common areas and an electric heater in the bathroom. There is a wall mounted space heater and a portable space heater if additional heat is needed.

Extra firewood is located on the deck.

In the winter, you will need an AWD or 4WD vehicle to reach the cabin. Please do not book if you don’t have this. The road is plowed but can ice over quickly making it difficult for a smaller front wheel drive car to get up or down safely.

Guest access
The entire property is available to guests. The cabin itself is on 6 acres of land. you are free to walk around in the woods, just be careful - there are no marked trails and leaves do a great job of hiding rocks/roots that are a potential trip hazard.

Other things to note
A couple of dogs (one beige and one black) who live down the street usually visit the cabin once or twice a day. They are very friendly!

Hobart, New York, United States

Situated on a Cowan Mountain in the western Catskills. The cabin is in beautiful and rural Delaware County, New York, where the neighbors are cows and chickens. There's also a 30-mile rails-to-trails route close by, which is perfect for runners, walkers, and bikers. Tasty restaurants, farmers' markets and interesting wine shops provide everything you need for a wonderful stay. Also, Hobart is the book village of the Catskills so you'll be sure to find a good read!
