Welcome to Red Bone Cabin on Double A Farm. The cabin is nestled atop the scenic Cumberland Plateau in the middle of the Tennessee mountains.

The space
About the Cabin:
Lovingly built with wood that we cleared from our land, our original cabin was a bit too “rustic” (no water or electric), but we’ve recently doubled the size and the footprint of the cabin so that you’ll have all the creature comforts of home! We made sure to maintain the country feel for our guests so that you feel like it’s a true getaway - there’s plenty of knotty pine nickle gap paneling and quilts on all of the beds. You can comfortably sleep 4 adults with one queen bedroom, one bedroom with two twins, and two twin futons up in the loft (for an additional fee)
The south-facing cabin gets great sunlight, and is light and airy, with an open concept and vaulted ceilings that give you plenty of room to relax! The benches on the covered front porch are a perfect place for your morning cup of coffee and tea in any weather.
In the living room, sit in front of the gas fireplace with a good book, or curl up on the comfy sofas to watch some TV. Or throw on some of your favorite music on our surround sound system, and enjoy the view and fresh air through the screen door.
The farmhouse chic kitchen features custom-made cabinets stocked with all of the pots, pans, and supplies you’ll need to whip up and serve your favorite meal. You’ll have an oven, and microwave, blender, coffee maker and a spacious kitchen island which gives you plenty of room to work your magic.
The dining room table seats 6, and is the perfect place for meals, a game of cards, or your favorite board game.
The shared bath is plenty spacious for everyone, with a large standup shower, and oversized granite vanity and we’ve stocked the linen cabinet with all the towels you need. No need to pack toiletries - we’ll have you covered with soap and shampoo.
When you’re ready to go to sleep, slide the barn doors closed and hop into our comfy beds, complete with hotel quality linens, and down comforters just in case you need to bundle up. And, in case the Tennessee summer gets a little hot and sticky, you’ll be comfortable in the summer with both ceiling fans, and A/C, or just some old fashioned open windows at night.
If you like to fish, you’ll have a ball here - 100 steps from the cabin door is a 3 acre pond stocked with blue channel catfish, large mouth bass, and blue gill. Take out the flat bottom boat, and soak up the sun as you wait for some bites on your lines. Then use our outdoor sink to clean your catch, and throw it on the gas grill, and dinner is done. Eat out under the stars in the pavilion, and be sure to pack your marshmallows for the firepit.
If the fish weren’t biting that day, call Farmer Steve, and put your order in for some grass-fed, grain finished beef -- straight from our farm! And if you’d like to stock your freezer when you get home, beef packages are available at discounted rates, and can be packed ready for your journey home.
About the Farm:
We are Double A Farm, a 369 acre working cattle farm with 188 head of mixed cattle (Angus, Herford, Charolais and Long Horn). While we’re busy on the farm all day year, we work cattle in April and November, which means that we’re busy tagging and feeding new calves that have just been born, as well as tending to the older cattle in our herd. Our farm is a USDA certified farm and is a center of excellence in the University of Tennessee Agriculture program. Our beef is featured at the Cumberland Farmer’s Market in Sewanee, The University of the South in Sewanee, the Sewanee Inn and Murfreesboro Market on the Square.
Additional Information:

Shampoo and soap, hiking trail maps, furnished porches and pavilion, gas grill (gas provided), flat-screen Satellite TV, driveway parking for 4, outdoor pavilion with tables and seating, and more
