The Space

Detached house situated in a quiet area of the historical center: a few steps from the church of Santa Croce, the best example of Lecce Baroque, and a 5 min walk from Piazza S.Oronzo, the heart of the city.
Easily accessible for those arriving by car from Brindisi and 10 min walk from the shuttle bus that connects to the airport.
Great for those who want to visit and know the city and as a starting point for exploring the magnificent beaches of the Salento coast or the hinterland rich in colors and ancient traditions.

The house is an ancient structure in local stone with the typical high vaulted ceilings, newly renovated using natural materials and free of toxic substances in the respect of the tradition.
Cozy and comfortable, is composed of two rooms, a living room with sofa bed, dining room, a large loft for sleeping area, kitchen, bathroom with shower and a small outdoor space with another shower (very useful when you return from sea).

Possibility of discounts for longer stays.
Air conditioning, free parking.

  • We stayed at Gianluca and Ivana's apartment for two weeks and had a wonderful time. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The apartment is very well equipped and has everything you need for a great stay in Lecce, including guidebooks and maps of Lecce and Salento. Parking in the street is fairly easy as long as you don't arrive too late in the evenings. Our stay in Lecce was really one of the best holidays we've had and renting this apartment was the smartest thing we did.

    Molto consigliato a tutti.

  • We stayed at Gianluca's and Ivana's place for 6 days. It is a quiet house, beautifully decorated (see their photos), situated only 3 mns walk from the Santa Croce church. Our hosts were very helpful. and they care a lot They fetched us at the train station and took us back there when we left. At one point, there was a little problem in the house and Gianluca came and fixed it immediately (apologizing though it was no fault of his own!).
Don't bother to take maps and guidebooks with you; Gianluca and Ivana have put many of them in the living room in different languages, including English, French, German, and even one in Japanese.
Gianluca parle aussi très bien français.
We recommend 2 good restaurants for local food: Blu Notte and Latino (around 25 euros p.p. including wine). Gianluca recommended Le Zie (very close to the house), but it was booked out.
The Tourist Information Office organized for us a car service (car+driver) to tour the coast (one full day) and the interior of the Salento province (also one day), for 50 euros per person and per day (minimum 4 persons, you can share with other tourists, up to 6 persons). Our driver/guide, Michele Longo, was extremely competent and nice: ask for him! I'm also told that that there is a good bus network.
Lecce and the Salento were completely unknown to us and it was an enchantement. We definitely recommend this house and would go back to it the next time we are in the region. Just try not to go in full summer (we were told the temperature could go up to 40°C!).
    Thanks, Gianluca, thanks Ivana!

  • Perfect house in a splendid town, with friendly people and good food. Very nice and helpful hosts, specially on arrival assistance against rent a car extorsion : after presenting a document issued by E-dreams proving that the total amount for the rental of a car delivered by Hertz in Bari airport and given back next day in Lecce had been prepaid, Hertz charged an extra for drop off (61 euros), increasing the normal one day rental Hertz price of 60 euros up to 220 euros ! So better avoid renting a car through E- dreams/Hertz. Best restaurant in town for traditional food: La Vecchia Osteria, in the neighbourhood of the duomo (try the linguini ai ricci) and, close by the house, Le Zie. For car tours in Salento I recommend Dari(phone number hidden)

  • Our apartment was wonderful! Our host came to the train stain toon to pick us up and we felt welcomed right away. Upon our five minute drive to the apartment we entered the most beautiful space in Italy! We truly loved every small comfort the apartment had. Slippers and towels nicely placed at the end of our bed, to a CD player with Italian music for our listening pleasure! The pictures are a true example of how pretty the space is! We feel in love with Leece! We walked everywhere and the city center is safe and whimsical!

  • This B & B is very comfortable and true to the pictures. It is decorated beautifully and anything you may need is at your fingertips. Gianlucca had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. From leaving out a curling iron, hairdryer and tweezers to slipper's for both of us. His basket of goodies for breakfast was perfect and the kitchen though petit, is easy to prep and cook in.
The location is perfect and an easy walk to the centre of the old town.
We asked Gianlucca's advice on what to see outside of Lecca and his suggestion of various beaches was perfect. The sun was shining, the water so blue and the beaches were...empty! We had a great day.
    Well worth booking.

  • We have stayed in Lecce for two weeks and have become fans of this beautiful, quiet city (well, at least it was quiet in March, we don't know what it might be like in the summer). No small reason was that we were able to find Gianluca and Ivana and their excellent rental apartment. It is within easy walking distance of all the sites in the historic old city (it is at the edge of the old city itself, near the Greek Church). It is a split-level apartment, with your bedroom upstairs. Downstaris there are two rooms, with the living room two stories high and, just like the bedroom upstairs, topped by an arched stone ceiling. All the walls and ceilings are made of the local limestone that you see everywhere, and which was one of the things that made Lecce so prosperous in the past. There is a kitchen and a bathroom, and even an outdoors shower (don't worry, no one can see you taking a shower there, you're surrounded by tall stone walls. There are some good restaurants nearby, especially Nautilus, and so is the DOK supermarket and the city's shopping area. We had our coffee every day at Avio cafe, about 7 minutes walk away at XXV Luglio and the pedestrian mall. Our favourite restaurants, Pizza Pop and Arrosteria dell'Itria are farther away, about 20 minutes walk. It's a very internet friendly city and you can get a wifi card that connects you in the nearby Public Garden as well as some other places in the city. Everything was good but made much better by our hosts Gianluca and Ivana, who went out of their way to be helpful in spite of having to deal with an important family event. They picked us up at the bus station and even took us back when we left, which we did not expect, this time in two cars with Gianluca's father and dogs in one of them. We will recommend their place to anyone we know who makes the wise decision to spend some time in Lecce.

  • We were warmly welcomed by Ivana, us as Gianluca was away visiting his Family. Ivana was the perfect host, she spent time with us providing recommendations and ensuring we were connected to the wifi. She was always at the end of the phone if we needed anything. The house is just as the photos, - beautiful! There is everything you need including an outdoor shower which is handy for the summer. The house is in the old city so just a couple of minutes walk and you're at the bars, restaurants and historical sites. Lecce really comes alive in the evenings, especially Saturdays, so it's handy to be so close to the action. We loved the house and Lecce, and plan to come back one summer. We definitely would recommend staying here.
