The space
Saddle Mountain Ranch, RV Park and Campground is located on 89 acres of forest land off Carmel Valley Road, just 5 miles from HWY 1. Only 7.8 miles from lovely Carmel Beach with its white sands; and 8.5 miles from Point Lobos State Natural Reserve in Big Sur.

All of our tents are grouped into 2 locations at our campground of 4-8 tents per location. Tents are on average 6-12’ apart.
The Luxury Tents have the same layout, but some may have minor differences such as turf outside vs fine gravel (as pictured), or proximity to the bath house closest to the tent (pool bathhouse pictured).
This Luxury Tent rental base price includes 2 people (including children) and 1 vehicle. Some tents will have allocated parking in front of the tent, and others may require you to park 1–2-minute walk from the tent. No additional guests are allowed for this booking. Vehicles are billed on top of the base price. 1 additional vehicle max. The additional parking permit may be obtained at the front desk for $30 per night, and must park in overflow by site 32.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
We recommend packing cutlery, plates, cups, and your favorite foods and spices. Some of our communal wash stations do have extra plates and cups, but they are communal, so they might not be available at all times. Other things we recommend is a cooler to keep perishable items cold, a flashlight, and some warm clothing, which will help you navigate the property and ensure a cozy experience. The bathroom facilities, although shared, are conveniently located just a short walk away from your site.

Take a dip any time of year in our heated pool, a guest only amenity that we aim to keep open year round. Like any outdoor pool, it may close temporarily due to weather, safety, maintenance, or other operational needs. Since conditions can change, temporary pool closures are not eligible for refunds. Please check with the office or ask at check in for the current pool hours.
Pool and Dry Sauna hours are from 9 AM to 9 PM.

Once you finish eating, dispose of your food properly or seal it and keep it inside your car as well as any overly scented items. This is to avoid any critters coming into your unit. We encourage you to visit the Monterey County website for a list of wildlife in the Monterey and Carmel mountains.

✨ Night Sky & Lighting Guidelines
To preserve Carmel’s naturally dark and tranquil night environment, our property follows Carmel-by-the-Sea Municipal Code (Chapter 17.39), which is intended to minimize light pollution, glare, and light trespass while maintaining a pristine nighttime setting for all to enjoy. In keeping with these local requirements, projection devices are not permitted, and no lighting may be added to outdoor areas if it is visible from surrounding properties. Floodlights, spotlights, and other bright or outward-facing lighting are also not allowed, and management may require removal of any lighting that does not comply.
