Perfect cozy getaway, less than a mile to Downtown Austin, Lady Bird lake, Rainey Street, East sixth, convenient to everything Austin! Luxurious two story, featuring clawfoot tub, kitchen, washer & dryer, fresh linens, fresh coffee and plenty of fun!

The Space

We have a beautiful guest house, fully furnished about 1 mile from downtown Austin. Perfect for the F1 race, SXSW, ACL, FunFunFunFest, or even just a weekend visit. Easily walkable, and there is a place nearby to rent bikes. House includes kitchen, bathroom with clawfoot tub/shower, washer/dryer, private entrance, internet, and UVerse.

The house is 2 story, approximately 800 sf, 1 bedroom with queen bed, living room with space to sleep on a large teddy bear couch and there is plenty of room for air mattresses if needed. Four people can comfortably stay, plus one on the couch if needed.

Several restaurants within 2 and 3 blocks. There are multiple bus stops very close by.

The airport is very close - about a 10-15 minute drive.

You'll have a fridge ready stock full of food, drinks, and whatever other treats my wife is making. She's an incredible cook, so you'll be in for some treats.

Usually our guests are only here for the weekend, but we also do weekly and monthly rentals depending on the schedule.

We're pretty easy going folks, and we'll take care of you if you need anything.

High fives!

Guest Access

Internet, premium cable, fresh ground coffee, and breakfast items such as bagels, yogurt, or any special requests!

Interaction with Guests

We hope to meet all our guests, but things get busy, and Austin has so much to do! We usually do an easy self check in-and meet whenever if possible. Our main house is across the yard if any problems arise, but like to maintain our guests total privacy!

The Neighborhood

East Austin is always rated one of the hippest, trendiest areas in the country. Being so close to downtown, we have access to tons of new bars, bistros and coffee shops, as well as being only a few blocks from Lady Bird Lake, which flows through the heart of downtown, where you can rent kayaks, stand up paddle boards, or take a beautiful walk/run around. The trail will also take you right to Zilker park, for both ACL , and Barton Springs!

Getting around

There are a few bus stops within blocks, but we walk most everywhere. A cab ride down to bars/downtown is around a mile.

  • Welcoming, very nice hosts. Funky off-beat place on a quiet street, yet very central. Spacious kitchen and nice front yard. Weather Up bar was very a very cool hangout just down the street. Had a totally awesome (email hidden) on Rainey st. Would definitely stay here again!

  • I cannot say enough positive things about our stay at Joey and Steph's beautiful guest cottage. Joey and Steph were extremely accommodating and friendly hosts, who really made the experience an A+! They really went out of their way to ensure we were happy and were easy to reach during our stay for questions. The house is furnished beautifully, and feels like a relaxing retreat. The location is super, close to downtown and was especially good for vegans like us with three yummy vegan friendly cafes in close walking distance.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend for anyone visiting Austin.

  • Amazing space to stay while visiting the Austin area! Joey and Stephanie made us feel very welcome with breakfast foods our family requested and a comfortable space to relax after busy days of Austin activities. They accommodated our family of four very well with a great comfortable queen bed in the private bedroom, a huge couch and queen air mattress. Lots of little details made the house wonderful....Fresh ground coffee beans, hair dryer, books, movies and even a few local beers in the fridge. A home away from home!

  • The Guest house and main house were fantastic. We enjoyed staying at Joey and Steph's places. A short 15 minute walk to the convention center made this a great location for us. The property was tidy and comfortable and beautifully decorated.

The owners went above and beyond to make us feel welcome--they even offered to greet us upon arrival when my flight was delayed until the wee hours of the night.

We indulged in the awesome, delicious coffee Joey's dad roasts daily. I cannot complain about our stay here one bit. You'll have a great time here.

  • We had a great time staying at Joey's place. It is located in East Austin which is a really cool neighborhood. There is a fun speakeasy-style bar called the Weather Up just nearby and a strip with tons of food trucks and great bars/restaurants not far away. I made a point to stop at Cenote, a fantastic local cafe with really friendly baristas, on my morning walks to the Convention Center downtown. It's a quick and really pleasant walk. The house itself is very comfortable and plenty spacious. They stocked the fridge with breakfast goodies, which was very nice. Their dog, Dozier, is also a sweetheart and greets you happily as you set out in the morning and return home at night. It wasn't a complete day until I had played with him for at least a minute. Overall, we just had a really lovely stay and I would highly recommend Joey's place to anyone.

  • We had a very short stay, but got to meet Joey when we arrived. He is so incredibly friendly and helpful. The guest house is so cute and actually much larger than we had expected. The neighborhood is so convenient, we would definitely stay here again!

  • Joey and Stephanie's place is cozy, clean and a great location for everything you want to do in Austin. We would definitely stay there again. We loved the way they decorated the place, the bed is really comfortable and the snacks they left us was an added bonus. We used many of Stephanie's suggestions in the house manual for food and drink and she was right on. Very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend it.

  • If you choose to stay in this charming Garden House, you will not be disappointed! Joey and Stephanie have created a beautiful "home away from home" -- sparkling and beautiful! They go the extra step in making sure the refrigerator is stocked with breakfast items requested by you --- not to mention the delicious coffee! You will love meeting them (they are so helpfu!l), along with their daughter, Lola and black lab Dozer. We would definitely stay there again! With so many positive reviews, this home will be in great demand!
