Shana gave us a tour of the house when we first arrived, and provided us with all the information we needed. Though we did not spend much time in the house other than sleeping, it suited our needs well while we attended a conference nearby. The neighborhood was busy and a little noisy at times, but with the provided fan going or windows closed, it was mostly a nonissue. The bathroom is shared by the other guests staying in the house, so we were mindful about when we could or couldn't use the shower/restroom. It worked well for us. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Pink House.
I stayed here for just over a week while finding an apartment in Tacoma. Well-priced and comfortable room, spotlessly clean shared bathroom, and Shana was very helpful when it came to giving advice on my housing search. I also appreciated that the rooms have individual keys, so I could lock up my possessions when I went out.
Thank you, Shana for creating a peaceful and comfortable place in my favorite neighborhood of Tacoma. I hope to visit again soon.
Shana made me feel very welcome. The room was exactly as pictured and I loved the neighbourhood, though it was quite noisy on a Saturday night. The house is older than it looks in the photos, but it is very comfortable and nicely reno'ed. Very creaky stairs, though, if you are trying to sneak in late at night! It was hot on the second floor, but Shana provided a fan. This is a corner room with two windows, so there was great circulation, and I slept well in the comfy bed. I enjoyed sitting on the deck with my morning coffee (I was happy that I had brought my own coffee and my one cup drip, as she had only instant). It was lovely that Shana provided breakfast basics - coffee, tea, cereal, cream and fruit. I loved strolling 6th Avenue, two blocks away, where I found a fun pub, The Red Hot, and a great restaurant, Primo.
Jackie, thanks for the feedback. I have started to carpet the stairs. I was very sad and remiss about removing the French press from my offering! But after exhausting every method possible I couldn't seem to get guest to stop washing the coffee grounds down my drain :(
Great house, great host, great neighborhood. Extremely warm and comfortable accomodations. Would stay here again. The wood floors are amazing and you don't mind the rule that you have to take off your shoes when coming in the house because you'll wanna walk in your socks anyways.
The description is accurate, you get the essentials (comfortable bed, toilet, and shower) and it's clean. No frills, but somewhat expected for the price. The house itself is very quiet, so if you want to be awake and talking at 10pm this doesn't seem like the appropriate place to stay. No A/C so it's necessary to keep the windows open at night in order to cool down the room, you need to be OK with some street noise and music/chatter late at night during weekends from neighbors. Very limited interaction with Shana, but she was professional and responsive in communications.

About the Host, Shana
I'm new to the Tacoma area. I purchased the Pink House as a remodeling project with the idea of sharing the space with other. Airbnb has allowed me to travel, live light, and to meet interesting people, as well as to grow as an individual.
