When I return to Florence, I know where I will be staying. The positives of this apartment outweigh the negatives by a million.
I'll start with the negatives:
There's only one real drawback, and it's not even the end of the world. But there is no AC, which, on consecutive 90°+ days, can make things pretty warm on a third floor apartment.
The things that I didn't mind but some people might dislike:
The hot water was not working. Although the shower is very simple to use, it could have been operator error. BUT, Federica insisted on calling her if I had any problems/questions, so I'm sure there would have been a solution had I cared a little more.
There is street noise. If you intend on spending most of your time in a quiet apartment, this is not for you. However, if you plan on being out and about every day, the noise will not be a problem, with the exception of a couple late night street sweepers and early morning museum goers.
Everything else. The location, the bed, the apartment as a whole, and Federica. Starting with location. When you look out the two windows of the apartment, directly below you is the entrance to the galleria della academia, which houses Michelangelo's "David". Look to the right and you can see the duomo. Within walking distance from everywhere. I did not use any form of transportation (other than walking) while I visited Florence for five days.
The bed is honestly one of the best I have ever slept on, not counting my own of course.
The apartment is very nicely sized. With a queen size bed, love seat, small kitchen, and a long hallway leading into the bathroom, it was bigger than I had expected.
Federica was always available for questions I had for her. Upon arrival, she told me that if I needed any help or had any questions, she would assist me.
I cannot wait to go back to Florence and stay at this apartment!
Frederica and her husband were very helpful and communicative throughout our stay at Bedart. The apartment is clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The only issue we had was with the hot water, which seemed to have some issues working consistently, but Frederica was very apologetic and did her best to fix the problem. as we were only there two days it wasn't fixed while we were there but I'm sure it was only something minor and does not take away from the great experience we had. Would stay again!
Great apartment in a great location. Very clean and would definitely come again. Brilliant communication. Thanks.
We enjoyed our visit to Florence to the fullest. This cute apartment is located exactly in the centre of this beautiful and romantic city, we could walk everywhere. Federica helped a lot using a map to tell us where the good spots where. Thanks Federica for our memorable stay!
I had a wonderful stay at BEDART, Florence. Federica was a lovely host - informative, friendly, and super helpful. The room itself was delightful: large, airy, bright, and fully equipped. The bed was particularly comfortable. I also really appreciated the air conditioner on the hot Florence nights. The only downside of the accommodation was the noise level on the street, which is to be expected since this is very central Florence and right next to the Academia. There was only one night where I had difficulty sleeping because of shouting in the street but I slept well otherwise. The upside to such a central location is how close it was to everything: San Marco Piazza is 1 min away, the Duomo is 5 mins, the Mercato Centrale is 10 mins, the Uffizi is 15 mins etc. Overall, this is a fantastically central and convenient location, with a very nice and friendly host, that may not be suitable for the light sleeper.
Great location, spacious room, comfortable mattress. There was also a real shower, although we had some problems with the hot water - ask for assistance with this. Frederick was very nice, helpful and not intrusive. Very old apartment & a little musty but cheap rate for Florence.
Rekommenderas varmt.
