Beautiful gardens and a tranquil setting make this an ideal base from which to explore Marin and S.F. We offer thousands of acres of open space out the front door and the delightful town of Fairfax, with many great restaurants, just 5 min away.
Lovely master suite with private entrance and private bath. Come and go as you like through the french doors that open onto the deck and garden.
My home is located steps from some of the best hiking and biking trails in Marin, actually in the U.S.
Colorful flower gardens surround the house, with a pond and waterfall, summer vegetable garden, and a relaxing hammock with a panoramic view of the surrounding Nature reserve.
The small town of Fairfax is just down the road (5 min drive). It's filled with great restaurants, shopping, and lots of live music entertainment, which Fairfax is famous for.
And within a 30-40 min drive, you can explore Pt Reyes National Seashore, Napa Valley Wine Country, San Francisco, Berkeley, and Bodega Bay.

This is the 4th time we stayed at Sylvia's place. It's becoming our home in Fairfax away from home in Silicon Valley. The place is neat, totally quiet and relaxing. Sylvia is a great guide and an inspiration to find hidden gems in Marin County. Good times! Can't get enough.
We had a wonderful stay! We met up with her right on time, while she was tending her beautiful back garden. She was preparing for the "storm of the decade", the pacific's "pineapple express" due to hit and unleash havoc upon the Bay area in 8 hours.
The storm did arrive that night and lasted all of the next day,but Sylvia's neck of the woods was spared along with most of the surrounding communities.
The room is romantic, and the private entrance made for effortless comings and goings. The room has plenty of walk-in closet space, the shower just right with a cozy double sink for tandum tooth brushing. The Bed is a big, yummy cloud and we slept great. We loved hearing the rain and this weather event made sleeping-in all the more fun.
Sylvia's house is semi-secluded yet located so very close to trails and creeks of Marin County's open spaces and Headlands trails; great trails for easy to hearty hikes, and that, for us, was a big bonus.
We enjoyed our brief time with her; our conversations were effortless. We found ourselves sharing many stories, mutual interests and passions.
The towns of Fairfax, San Anselmo and San Rafael gave us a great variety of dining and shopping options, and we did both, in the rain.
Sylvia's home is a wonderful place to relax, unplug and recharge your spirit. Our only regret, not enough time.
Sylvia was very kind and prepared. Her home is on a peaceful street only minutes from shops and restaurants and next to some lovely trails. Her home was very cozy with a relaxing backyard. We enjoyed ourselves immensely.
It was a very quiet neighborhood, located at the end of a road in a canyon. The room was quite comfortable the garden lovely. Be careful the large rocks while parking at the base of the driveway!
I didn't see very much of the host as she was preparing for a trip and I was attending a conference. Highly recommend a rental car.
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay here Angie. Yes, a rental car makes things a lot easier though I have had guests here for 2 weeks who have chosen to use public transit all over Marin, to the coast, to San Francisco, as well as enjoying the lovely walk into the town of Fairfax.
We love the place next to the path to the Cascade, in a peaceful place, marvellous place to rest. Sylvia is really nice and it was great to talk to her for a while. Her paintings are around and they are very beautiful. The town of Fairfax is full of small restaurants and places with live music, so it was great. Maravilloso.
I spent a wonderful week in Fairfax, staying at Sylvia's . She was very welcoming and friendly, which was very helpful as it was my first time
in Fairfax. I was very comfortable and felt quite at home staying in the
sweet garden suite. It's a very nice spot.
Thanks so much for everything Sylvia. See you again in the future.
We enjoyed our stay at Sylvia's home very much and the accommodations were excellent. Just as you see in the pictures it was a very comfortable and private. Very beautiful neighborhood with hiking trails just a few steps from her home. We will definitely return!

I have traveled extensively and I just love meeting people from other places.
I'm a nature gal, which you can probably guess because I live on the edge of endless acres of Nature Preserves. I work as an artist and I am inspired by beauty and light. The garden is one of my joys in life and there is always something blooming. I would love to share this little piece of heaven with you.
