About This Listing
Beautiful gardens and a tranquil setting make this an ideal base from which to explore Marin and S.F. We offer thousands of acres of open space out the front door and the delightful town of Fairfax, with many great restaurants, just 5 min away.
Lovely master suite with private entrance and private bath. Come and go as you like through the french doors that open onto the deck and garden.
My home is located steps from some of the best hiking and biking trails in Marin, actually in the U.S.
Colorful flower gardens surround the house, with a pond and waterfall, summer vegetable garden, and a relaxing hammock with a panoramic view of the surrounding Nature reserve. Come and relax in this peaceful setting.
The small town of Fairfax is just down the road (5 min drive). It's filled with great restaurants, shopping, and lots of live music entertainment, which Fairfax is famous for.
And within a 30-40 min drive, you can explore Pt Reyes National Seashore, Napa Valley Wine Country, San Francisco, Berkeley, and Bodega Bay.

I greet guests when it is convenient for both of us. I am often around the grounds and leave interaction up to you as the guest. I like my guests to have the privacy and tranquility they've come for.
I communicate with guests before they check in to let them know if I will be there when they arrive. If I cannot be there upon arrival, I will arrange for your access.

Beautiful setting, lovely, comfortable room. Sylvia is friendly and available. Thanks Sylvia.
My husband and I found the room to be precisely as photographed. It was comfortable, clean and well furnished with even a night light. The closet was large with generous supply of hangars. The coffee Sylvia furnished was delicious. She even left two note cards with her own paining for me. We also found her very personable. We would come back!!
I am delighted you had a wonderful stay and you both are welcome back anytime. I am glad you appreciated the note cards as I enjoy sharing a bit of the local beauty with guests as they explore the area. The coffee is from the local roastery which I am told it is the best anywhere and I will just trust that as I am not a coffee drinker myself.
It was a great pleasure to spend a couple of nights in Sylvia's beautiful place! The suite is very spacious with direct view of the garden. Using the kitchen to make breakfast, we took advantage of the veranda to enjoy it. Sylvia was a very welcoming hostess who made sure we had all the information we needed to make our stay enjoyable, including sharing info on restaurants and hiking trails.
The location is fantastic: Close enough to Fairfax center to walk and far enough to enjoy a very quiet and relaxing night. Hiking is within a couple of minutes walk in gorgeous Cascade Canyon.
I plan to return to Sylvia's place again!
Sylvia was an amazing host. She gave just enough interaction to feel like if I needed anything, she would be there, but gave me the space I was looking for. This bed is AMAZING. It feels like sleeping on a cloud. I slept 12 hours my first night! I would recommend this airbnb and would come back. Very clean, well kept and so beautiful. You feel like you're far away although just a couple minutes from the main town. I had a great experience and loved the coffee she provided, especially since it was local! I hiked for 2 hours uphill right from the house. two thumbs up!
Sylvia is very friendly, easy going and accommodating. The room is just like it's pictured. The bed is extremely comfortable. The down comforter is cozy. The large bathroom has double sinks. Her art work is lovely and gives you a warm feeling of Marin. I would certainly stay here again. It is only 5 min to downtown.
This is the 4th time we stayed at Sylvia's place. It's becoming our home in Fairfax away from home in Silicon Valley. The place is neat, totally quiet and relaxing. Sylvia is a great guide and an inspiration to find hidden gems in Marin County. Good times! Can't get enough.

About the Host, Sylvia
I have traveled extensively and I just love meeting people from other places.
I'm a nature gal, which you can probably guess because I live on the edge of endless acres of Nature Preserves. I work as an artist and I am inspired by beauty and light. The garden is one of my joys in life and there is always something blooming. I would love to share this little piece of heaven with you.
