Steven took his diamond in the rough A-frame cabin and remodeled it into the unique space that The Shard is today. He had a vision of modern convenience combined with rustic charm that is so La Pine! Outdoors you will find an acre of natural landscape surrounded by pine trees to be enjoyed from the deck. Also, a newly added paver stone parking area and privacy fencing!

The space
The Shard sleeps up to four guests between the master loft full bed and main floor bedroom with queen sofa bed. Note: the loft MUST be accessed by a steep but secure ladder with hand rails.

Beautiful backyard deck with bench seating, lighting, gas fire table, and BBQ. Full kitchen with new granite counters. Bathroom with walk-in shower, fan, and heated floors. Washer & dryer in laundry room.

Guest access
Guests can access all of the cabin and the deck, but the outbuildings are for owner storage only.

Other things to note
Views of Crater Lake can be obscured by weather. For forecasts, webcams, and other information visit the National Park Service website.
Ranger led snowshoe tours begin March 17th!

The Oregon Department of Transportation has a website called TripCheck that shows current road conditions including warnings and road cams throughout the entire state.

Neighborhood highlights

It’s a quiet, pine forested, rural residential neighborhood of modest homes. The Shard sits on just over one acre with plenty of room for parking. There is a 2 1/2 mile paved bicycle/walking path that begins at the intersection of Burgess and Highway 97. It ends at the business district of La Pine.

I spent the first 15 years of my life growing up on the Oregon Coast. I moved to La Pine solo in 2011 where I have been hosting Airbnb in my home since 2012 and managing a cabin. I have returned to my old stomping grounds to open an Airbnb in Reedsport. Driving a loop around Oregon with a stop at Crater Lake NP is highly recommended. Oregon coast lighthouses and Crater Lake NP have always been my favorite places in Oregon. I enjoy telling people about them plus a few other local gems!
