The Space

Set in 23 acres of private rural countryside, and within easy reach of the very best that the region has to offer, you’ll find awe-inspiring scenery, quaint market towns, picture-postcard seaside resorts and must-see tourist spots all on your doorstep.

If you want to discover for yourself just why Yorkshire is known as ‘God’s Own County’, Manor Farm Cottage is the perfect base.

The Cottage been finished to a spectacularly high standard, and has all the space and character you could wish for in a holiday retreat. Solar Panels have recently been fitted to provide all the cottage's electricity.

Two large 3-seater sofas provide plenty of room for relaxing, and the exposed brickwork, wooden beams and oak flooring that runs throughout the cottage, remind you you’re in a special place. There’s also a 32" High Definition TV, Blu-Ray player and Wi-Fi to keep you entertained, if and when you can drag yourself away from the stunning views out of the window.

If you plan on eating in during your stay, our kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need, including an oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, as well as cutlery, crockery and a range of cooking utensils.

The cottage has two comfortable-sized bedrooms, both of which feature full length windows providing plenty of light. The larger of the rooms features a double bed, a gent’s wardrobe, chest of drawers and a dressing table.

There’s also plenty of room for a cot, which we can provide if you need one.

The smaller bedroom has twin beds (which can be pushed together to make a double) a gent’s wardrobe and 2 bedside tables with touch lamps.

As well as a toilet, wash basin and shower, the bathroom has a separate bathtub – perfect for a long soak at the end of a hard day exploring.

Two sets of bath towels are provided on your arrival.

As much as we can guarantee a relaxing, quiet stay inside, sadly we can’t guarantee the weather outside. However, if the sun is shining you’ll enjoy making great use of your own private outdoor area, which has a patio table & chairs and a BBQ, perfect for al-fresco dining.

Manor Farm Cottage sits in the middle of the sleepy village of Goodmanham.

The history of the village dates back to the stone age, and although things have certainly changed over the years, it remains as tranquil and unspoilt as it has for centuries.

Whatever you want to get from your break in the beautiful East Yorkshire countryside, Manor Farm Cottage is the perfect base for you. You can go for long walks and bike rides and if you're interested in visiting Yorkshire best attractions, we're in a perfect location.

  • Liz is a wonderful host. She greets you, makes you feel at home, makes sure you are comfortable and then lets you get on with a most wonderful experience.
The cottages are five star.....all of the comforts of home. You can choose to make your own meals in a kitchen that has everything or eat out. Liz provides a welcome book in the cottages that I believe has the menu from every restaurant in Market Weighton.
The views of the Yorkshire Wolds are awesome.....and there is lots of wild life in the fields (pheasants, rabbits, partridges and other birds). The farm next door even has horses.
If you like walking, then you will certainly like this (email hidden)e walks are awesome.
Goodmanham is a good base for is about 30 minute drive from Hull and York and a 45 minutes from Bridlington. The Yorkshire Moors and and Dales can be reached within an hour or two.
Market Weighton is right next to Goodmanham and has everything that you could want from food stores, coffee houses, restaurants, betting shops, pubs and last but not least a fish and chip shop.
There are 3 food stores there and they are open 7 days a week.
There are fantastic pubs in the area that provide excellent meals....the Star in North Dalton is a must for the steak is the best I have ever had.
Not to be out done...Goodmanham has its own pub that is a 3 minute walk from the cottage that allows you to indulge in some good local brews and not have to worry about drinking and driving.
My wife and I can't wait to go back.
    Thanks Liz.

  • Goodmanham is on the Wolds Way a popular walking area in Yorkshire. Manor Farm is on a direct route south of Londesborough. The village itself is small but beautiful and 20 minutes walking from Market Weighton on while has all the facilities of a town.
Things to note are the great pub in Goodmanham only serves food lunchtimes and Friday/ Monday evenings but excellent food at that. They also have a small brewery which has great local brews.
The accommodation has wonderful views, a warm cosy atmosphere, underfloor heating, all mod cons, excellent bedrooms and bathroom. Not to mention the patio with views over the fields.
A personal issue of mine is usually recycling but here we had bins for everything.
    Highly recommended to all.

  • Really enjoyed our stay, the barns are converted to a very high standard with large social areas. The underfloor heating made everything feel very cosy too. Our host Liz was very friendly and helpful and will certainly come back to explore the area further.

  • We had an absolutely fantastic week long stay at Manor Farm, and Liz's cottage proved to be the perfect base for exploring the surrounding towns and countryside. The cottage itself was incredibly comfortable, and was toasty warm from start to finish. The underfloor heating, dvd player (and assorted dvds), cd player, wifi, washing machine and dishwasher ensured we were more than comfortable, and made the occasional rainy day quite luxurious and relaxing!

The cottage's location is superb, nestled in the heart of the countryside and very quiet both during the day and at night. It is only a 3 minute walk from a really lovely local pub, and there are many footpaths in around the local area if you are keen walkers. Liz was a very welcoming and informative host, and made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived.

Overall we had a brilliant stay, and will 100% be returning in the future. Thank you Liz!

  • Had a 4 day stay at Liz's cottage. It is absolutely lovely, in a tiny village. The cottage is very spacious and highly recommended. It is a short drive from York and lots of other local attractions. Liz was an excellent host, very flexible with check in times and also leaving us bread and milk. If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay then this cottage is perfect.

  • What a fantastic place to stay. Liz was very welcoming and made us feel at home. The cottage was clean and very spacious. It was the perfect place for visiting all the local tourist interests. We used it as a base for York, Whitby and the local area. We only wish we had spent more time there as we loved it. Thank-you so much Liz. We will definitely come back again.

  • We visited Liz's beautiful countryside cottage and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Liz made sure we had everything we needed and we very much appreciated the BBQ so we could sit outside on the patio taking in the fantastic scenery. The cottage is very spacious, has lovely furnishings, comfy beds and little extras like an ipod docking station and a selection of DVDs. The location is great - feels like you are in the middle of nowhere but you are not at all. There is a tescos, coop and town with quaint little shops a short drive away (walking distance) and york is close. There is also a pub 100yards down the road!
We hope to visit again next year!

I am a farmers wife, mother of 3 & granny of 2 boys aged 6 & 10. Having lived in Yorkshire all my life I know the area well. After many years in nursing I missed the one to one contact with people so we decided to convert our traditional farm buildings to holiday lets so other people could enjoy the peaceful countryside we take for granted. I manage the 2 holiday cottages personally & like to make sure everything is very clean & tidy. The cottages are well equipped but if there's anything guests feel we have missed I am happy to have suggestions. As well as the cottages I help with our farm & haulage businesses. I am also a member of the village Parish Council & the village Church. My husband Paul & I live on the farm so one of us is always at hand if you need any help or advice whilst you are staying here.
