About this listing

The space

Kastro Villa ΙI is a traditional Cycladic house, rigth next to Kastro Villa I, but totally independent, completely renovated and restored. It is today an elegant house in total harmony with the island’s identity, set in a very quiet area fully accessible by car.

The location of Villa Kastro II is in close vicinity - 400 meters - to the village of Kastro overlooking the Aegean Sea and just 200 meters from the regional road connecting Kastro and Apollonia on the Eastern side of the island.

The house has a ground floor and a spacious loft. On the ground level there is a combination of living and dining room as well as a fully equipped kitchen, a double bedroom, 2 WC with shower and a storage room.

Katerina is a lovely and professional person. On our arrival she met us at the port kindly escorting us the house. The house is in a great location, with a fantastic sea view and view on the gorgeous Kastro village, couple of kilometers away from Apollonia. The small price to pay for the great view is a steep and little demanding driveway to get to house, but when there, it is worth the effort. We rented a small jeep on the island so has not been a problem. Overall the house is what you see on the pictures and we found it a great accommodation in perfect condition. During the stay we had a small issue with the water and Katerina has been very responsive and supportive to have it fixed in a matter of few hours! Very happy about the overall experience. We had great time and are very looking forward to go back next year eventually. We will definitively suggest the island and the accomodation to our friends. Diego & Roberta

Extremely helpful and generous host. Went to pick us up from the boat, took us to the supermarket and brought a big chunk of local cheese when it wasn't available at the supermarket. The pleasant house is in a perfect location on a hill overlooking Kastro. Could not have asked for more.

kastro villa 2: First, there's the view - literally breathtaking - i caught my breath when i first saw it and the spell didn't wear off the whole ten days we stayed. It's worth waking early to see a peach-coloured horizon and watch the sun rise out of the sea. The horizon also reddens in the evening as the lights come on in Kastro village below - utterly charming. Then, there's Katerina, so generous and open, who it was our pleasure to get to know a little. she really thought of everything we might need at first - and more. Hard to imagine a more lovely host. Great suggestions about places to go and to eat too. If you are planning to explore the island or beaches are your thing, you may wish to rent a car, unless you are an avid hiker. In this case, the villa is perfect. There are trails right out the door, most lined with the low walls of layered stone that wind all over the hills. We rented a car and travelled the island from end to end, and we were still always within an hour or so of the villa. Take note, going up the driveway is a little scary, but we managed dozens of times with no problem. Just part of the thrill of a hilly Aegean island. In a few words, romantic, moonswept, full of windows, light and spacious. Great memories!

Amazing experience! This house is just fabulous!!! Situated on the side of the mountain overlooking the sea, just so beautiful! Katerina is a wonderful host, she looked after us so well, collecting us from the port, she even brought us shopping the day after our arrival as we did not rent a car! She checked on us everyday to make sure everything was ok and her father brough us back to the boat when leaving. The hous is situated in a very peaceful spot, within walking distance of local village, Kastro, that can be seen from the house. We walked everywhere from the house, probably 80 km during our stay, it is all up and down hill, the best way to visit the island.

Unfortunately we didn't meet Katerina but her father made sure we were looked after, picking us up from the ferry, taking us to the supermarket, even buying us lunch when we bumped into him whilst we were exploring the beautiful island of Sifnos! The house, perched on top of a hilltop over-looking Kastro, is filled with light and is a fantastic place to wake up in each morning, or to watch the birds of prey hunting below you in the evening while you sip a glass of wine and watch the lights of the village below twinkling in the dusk. We loved our holiday on Sifnos and that was largely down to Katerina and her house.

That was the best vacation ever. The house has simply fantastic design, witty and thorough, the view can keep you entertained the whole day (actually we were waking up every other day to watch the sunrise), the village nearby is beautiful, and the island is full of wonders to discover. And if you wish to lose some weight, do not rent a car, the terrific landscapes and the ancient roads network (one is leading straight to the house) will make you wander around for weeks. Katerina is amazing host and friend, we spent quite a few great evenings and days together, and her generosity and will to be helpful was unobtrusive and touching. We had walked and drove around the island for a month, and never encountered a place better than the Kastro villa. — Nadja, Kiril, Vera and Nifa the dachshund
