The Space

A most unusual house and very energy efficient. As there are only 3 dwellings like it in the whole of Europe I can almost guaranty that you have not seen the likes of it before.
Visitors comment on the atmosphere the roundness creates. A "compact" spaciousness you have to experience for yourself !

Our guest quarters include the whole of the first floor and is consisting of:

Livingroom with extra sleeping couch and a small, fully fitted kitchen incl. fridge. Bedroom and pirvate bathroom with shower and toilet.

Shared entrance and access to our garden.
There is plenty of room for your kids, and you are more than welcome to join us in or use our garden. Here we also keep our "Staff" of breakfast egg producing chickens in "the Chicken Hilton hotel".

There is shaded and covered space for late BBQ's and there is no streetnoise.

Your livingroom upstairs has a balcony overlooking the livingroom downstairs. The wonderfull vieuw of the star spangled ceiling will add to your feeling of wellness.

The beach and shopping centre are a mere 300 meters away.

Between us, we speak Danish, Dutch, German, French, English, and a bit of Spanish.

€65,- for 2 adults, 1 additional small child is free. Subsequent children €20,- each depending on bedding requirements/availability (check with us).
Additional adults/children over 16 €30,- each (max. 2).

Breakfast is included in the price as is bedding and towels.
As we expect our guests to treat our home as if it were their own, there are no charges for cleaning!
We do however, request guests to take of bedlinnen and leave it in the entrance at the washing machine.

Lena, Nico and Hans.

Check In
  • A wonderful house with wonderful people. Nico, Lena, and Hans were so welcoming and made us feel right at home throughout our stay. We shared an amazing meal and some great conversation and they provided us with some great tips about what to see and do in the west. Our daughter particularly loved the chickens (and the currants from the tree!). They were also extremely helpful in our quest to obtain a stroller for our daughter. The house is really special and is located close to the beach. It was a very memorable stay in Esbjerg! Highly recommend.

  • We spent a really nice time at Hans's place. He was kind enough to give us some tips regarding what to do and see in the area and we had some nice and interesting conversations with him.
If we have the opportunity to come back, we will definitely stay at the Domehouse.

  • Our stay with Lena, Nico and Hans was a very pleasant one. They all are easy to communicate with and very friendly and welcoming. They always made sure that we've got enough food for breakfast or a snack in the fridge and the fresh eggs from their hens were delicious.
Definitely a recommendation to other travelers.

  • You can be sure that you won't forget your stay at the Domehouse. Hans, Nicolaas & Lena are amazing and lovely people who will make you feel comfortable, whether you want to have a nice chat in the garden or enjoy your private space. The house and the garden are nice and cozy – but the best of all: The cute chicken and the fresh eggs they give to you.
Besides the area was perfectly quiet and you can walk one minute to the see. All you need for a relaxing weekend in Denmark. We totally recommend that place (and the people) and hope we will come back one day! Alexa, Marie-Therese & Isabell.

A bit about us and the Domes. Lena and I live in a very special dwelling, consisting of 2 domes. We occupy the groundfloor of the larger dome while Hans, who started the project lives in the smaller dome. We share meals, washing and keeping the place clean. Hans, who started the project is 66 years old, born in Holland, worked in the offshoreindustry but is now involved in environmental and energy related matters. I, Nico am 64 years old and work as a caretaker in a wholesales business. My hobbies are golf, cooking and photography. I live together with Lena who is Danish, in the house that we have build together with Hans. As we like meeting new people we decided to join AirBnB. Charges: €65,- per day for 2 adults - 1 aditional small child is free of charge. Subsequent children are €20,- each, subject to available bedding (check). Additional adults or children over 16 (max. 2) €30,- each. Breakfast is included in the price as is bedding and towels. As we expect our guests to treat our home as if it were their own, there are no charges for cleaning! We do however, request guests to take of bedlinnen and leave it in the entrance at the washing machine. We only have had very nice experiences with our guest over a good meal and most prefere to eat with us for a small cost, please feel free to ask, the price is all after what we eat but mostly around 75 Kr. p/p including a glas wine. The listing gets updated so keep looking if you are interested. Esbjerg is situated in the South Western part of Danmark, there where the Vikings took off from and came home to. Several of their settlements, now open air musea, are near to where we live. But don't worry, the Vikings are all dead, while we are alive and much friendlier. Esbjerg is Denmarks center for the offshore oil- and windmill industry. Also sports and education are trademarks of our city. It is also a windy city, we get lots of fresh air blown in from the north sea, but that is for free for now, and we hope it will remain untaxed. Lena, Nico and Hans.
