  • The apartment is located in the northern part of Rome but you can take a couple of buses and you are right at the center (the Vatican) of the city. The place is clean and has everything that Simona says there is. She and her family were great hosts and very friendly and helpful. They leave you a mobile phone, so you can call her or her husband in case you get stuck.

We loved Rome and took a day's ride to Florence as well. Recommend the hop-on-off city tour bus that starts near the (email hidden)ere are 3 different ones. Our favorite things in Italy were the food, next the food and then, oh yeah, the food !!!! Simona's place was ideal for our trip....thanks very much again!!!!!!!

  • Very clean, nice apartment.
Simona and her husband know what to do. They respect their guest as their family. Everything has been set up perfectly. Very very clean.
We didnt have enough time to enjoy their house which was shame.
Arrived very late, left very early.
SIMONA AND HER HUSBAND did transfer service to Roma termini station
So we didn't have to carry all our heavy baggages everywhere .
    Super convenient
    Thanks heaps

If you have some time, try coffee in the corner, very nice.

  • I just spent the last 5 months in the apt. I was very sad to leave it, and to say good-bye to what I will always consider my second home. Simona and Fabrizio really understand what AirBnb is all about. They are great hosts, super generous and responsive. I didn't know what to expect from my time abroad, but I must say I made the best choice possible by staying at their place. They picked me up from the airport when I arrived, and laid everything out for me about the neighborhood, transportation, Rome, etc. If I needed anything during my stay, they were super quick to help. The apt is exactly what you see in the pictures, it is cozy, well decorated, clean, and it has all the amenities you need for your stay. It has this great balcony with a little table where you can enjoy your breakfast or glass of wine at night.

The neighborhood of Vigna Clara is fantastic. There are super markets, pharmacies, bars, and great restaurants. It is not a touristy neighborhood, you get the real Italian experience (and prices) when you stay here. No one around seemed to speak English, but everyone was warm and willing to help. The gelateria downstairs was great, as was the bar where you can get great coffee and panini in the morning. If you take a 10 min walk towards Ponte Milvio you will find a street filled with great bars and restaurants for a great outing at night.

I read a lot of the reviews in regards to transportation from the Apt to the city center. There were a lot of suggestions as to which buses to take etc. After living there for 5 months, here is my suggestion: once you arrive in Rome, download the Roma Bus app. All the busses in Rome have GPS on them. By entering the bus stop's numerical code into the app, you can track the busses that are coming to that stop. The bus stop is in front of the apt. Busses (phone number hidden) go straight to Piazza Mancini, and busses 223, 224, C3 take you to the city center. My suggestion is always take the first bus that comes.
If you go to Piazza Mancini take the 2 Tram into Piazza Del Popolo. Piazza del Popolo is an amazing way to start your Roman Adventure. It is the northern entrance to the old city, and you can easily find everything you're looking for (Trevi, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Piazza Navona) by walking down Via del Corso. If you take 224 or 223, you will be given a great tour of Rome on the bus, so get off anywhere you recognize a building. The last stop of 224 is Augusto Imperatore, which means you are in the center of it all.

This apt is perfect, and it makes your stay so much more enjoyable and easy. I will always stay here when I go back to Rome. :)

  • I spent the last 4 months in this apartment and I couldn't have asked for anything better. It's right next to transit to take you to the center in a short time. Its also in a very safe neighborhood where I always felt safe even at night if I was walking home alone. There's a couple grocery stores right close by and also a few gyms if you're staying for a long period of time. There was everything you needed inside of the apartment to make yourself feel right at home. Simona and Fabrizio and their family were so amazing, and I thank them so much for everything. I felt like they became part of my family as well. I would highly recommend this apartment whether you're staying for a short period of time or a long period of time. If I ever come back to Rome there is no doubt that Simona and her family would be the first people I would call. Grazie Simona e Fabrizio per tutto, e ci vediamo presto :)

  • I felt I was living live a Roman, not a turist. The hosts were always available to help and assist and even saved me money :)

The apartment is very nicely sized, appointed and furnished. (and Simona even had some coffee and sweets to welcome me which was a nice touch). It is in a upper end neighborhood in Rome, above a nice ( and convenient) gelatteria, and near many monuments, and the Olympic Park which I'd never think of visiting. I was a little put off at first that 'I'd need to take a bus into town, but it ended up being very frequent (every 10 minutes) and convenient (right to the Vatican walls or to the metro Lepsnto). It was nice to mingle with the locals and the bus is very comfortable.

More importantly, when I broke my arm before leaving the US, Simona kindly arranged for an airport pick up and later for me to be taken to the train station (as I continued on to Tuscany after Rome). This was very helpful. Moreover she helped me save over half the cost of train tickets by giving me some tips on where and how to book them.

Finally, Simona and her husband were always ready with information about the city, monuments (how not to stand in line, etc) and even solved a friday night wifi issue (not their prob but the providers) right away by giving me a back up that worked very nicely.

I will definitely be staying again with them in Rome, if you want to live like a Roman, not like a tourist, consider this place and these hosts. All the best.

  • If you want to stay out of the crowd and live like a roman, this is the place. Very cozy apartment, quiet and beautiful. Simona and Fabrizio were great. They pick us up at the airport, and they even call us during the period we stayed there. at the cellphone they gives us. Be ready to take buses and conmmute. Mancini Station would be your destination, since distribute the buses to the north. or the 32 bus drop you at the vatican. If you like to walk, from there everything is close. Will be back, for sure, after our italian classes. We promise it to our hosts! :)

  • We had a great stay in Rome - we will come back & this is for sure! Simona and her husband picked us up at the Airport and also brought us back to the Airport for a real fair price. It makes your trip such easier if you do not have to think about how you are getting to your flat. Everything was well prepared in the flat and really clean. We also had some juice and water to start our first hours after having arrived. They showed us the whole flat and how everything works. The super market is really next to the flat only a few minutes away. This market offers really everything you need and has a big range. Concering the connection to Rome via public transfer we had a little bit problems. There are many buses in front of the flat but they do not bring you directly into the storic center (lines 200, 201 ect.). It is better to take the No. 32 which starts about 5 minutes walk away directly under a bridge. Take this bus and drive directly to the station Ottaviano - from there starts the metro which connects you really to every place in Rome. The tickets for the bus can be bought in the Tabbacheria directly below the flat. But just notice - they do not speak any English! Just learn some words in Italian in order to buy a ticket :-). Also the Gelateria in the same building as the same flat is amazing. Really good ice cream! Unfortunately we did not bring our laptop with us which would have helped us to get the information about the bus connections earlier. But that does not matter, we had fun with discovering the city and its bus lines. We highly recommend Simona´s flat but just be aware that you need some time to get into the city or even that you have to plan at home a little bit the bus connections, but if you do so then its fantastic.

  • Simona and Fabrizio are very good hosts. They were kind enough to pick me up at the train station. The apartment is very cozy. The bed is more than comfortable and the bathroom was a surprise for me. So far I only knew apartments with tiny bathrooms in Rome. This bath is really nice and big. The little balcony is nice for the first coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.
Simona had perfectly prepared everything: coffee, mineral water, juice and some cake for breakfast and tickets for the bus. That was very attentive, because my first day was the 1st of May and really everything was closed. Otherwise, you can buy bus tickets at the Tabaccheria around the corner, even the supermarket is not far away and also a coffee shop/bar is nearby. Bus stops are just a few steps/minutes away from the apartment, depending on where you want to go. You can drive all the way by bus or you can change to the subway. It takes about 30-40 minutes to go to the historical city center.
I enjoyed the stay in Simona's apartment a lot and I'm looking forward to my next visit to Rome. Hopefully I can stay in Simona’s apartment again. The apartment is highly recommended.

  • Simona's place is fabulous to say the least. The house is central, clean and has pretty much everything you need. However, the best part is that she and her husband are friendly and are a great help. They provided us with transportation to and fro the airport/station at very basic cost too. Our train from Rome was early in the morning and yet they helped us out. I would highly recommend staying at their place. Many thanks for a wonderful stay.

A note in general to people about Rome is that its better to travel within the city by the metro rather than depend on buses. All the best!
