Anna's writeup about getting into the place and taking care of her cat were very detailed and helpful.
The location to the main part of Middlebury was very convenient and her place is large and sunny. Anna left a map of Middlebury College and provided us with fresh bagels and coffee, which was nice.
This was our second experience using Airbnb, so I guess we weren't clear that we were staying in Anna's primary home. We felt like we were "crashing" at someone's house. We're used to having our own space (hotel room, studio, condo, etc.), so it was a bit of a shock to walk in and see Anna's personal items all over (photos, pictures, books, bathrobe, food, jewelry, etc.), plus lots of clutter (stacks of boxes, papers, suitcases, etc.).
Luckily we like cats, so taking care of Joy was no problem, but I could see that this might not be okay with everyone.
We just didn't feel comfortable hanging out in somebody's space, so limited our time there to mainly sleeping and breakfast.
Anna's place is beautiful and sunny and close to a great restaurant where we had breakfast (storm cafe). There were a bunch of cute shops and places to eat and we wished we could stay longer to enjoy the place and town. Cat is super friendly and wanted to hang, so if you're not into cats, that might be an issue. Didn't actually have a chance to meet Anna but she was able to give us really great instructions and was helpful considering our super last minute booking. Would stay again!
We had a very nice time at Anna Sun's apartment. It is large and airy, comfortably furnished, and comes with a companionable cat. So it was exactly as described. The neighborhood is private, but walkable to town, although we were lazy and drove in. All in all, a lovely place to spend the night and very convenient for the Middlebury College drop off day.
Anna's apartment is very open and sunny and close to downtown. We felt very relaxed. My only complaint is that it was not as clean as we would have liked. Anna warned us that she would not have time to do a thorough cleaning because we had booked with only a day's notice. Other than that, it was pleasant. Anna is very prompt and communicative.
This was an excellent base for our cycling vacation in Vermont. The apartment is bright, spacious and very comfortable and Anna was an attentive and friendly host. Joy, the cat, was also very friendly. We travelled by public transit from Burlington and were within easy walking distance of the town centre. We rented our bikes and helmets from The Bike Center which gave great equipment at good prices and we got excellent advice on where to ride. The cycling was most enjoyable - very quiet roads through beautiful rolling farmland in fall colours.
Anna's apartment is delightfully open and sunny, and Anna was very welcoming. The place worked perfectly for the four of us on a bike tour, and I recommend the place highly. I would note, though, that it felt very much as though we were staying in someone's place who had just left unexpectedly. The dish drainers were chock full of dishes, the apartment wasn't moderately clean but not overly so. We awoke Anna from a nap when we arrived, she came back to get something out of the fridge, and a friend stopped by to pick something up. Again, fine given the nature of our trip, but it might not be such a good fit for people wanting privacy.
A really beautiful spot in a quiet, friendly town. We could not have asked for a better introduction to Middlebury! Thank you, Anna.
