This apartment is located near Piazza San Marco in Venice next to the Arsenale: the Arsenale of Venezia is a very large part of the city island and was the heart of Venetian shipbuilding industry. We had a great vacation in Venice. I would recommend Alberto apartment to everybody it was clean and had everything you need. The apartment is stayed in a great location and such a nice neighborhood. The contact whit Alberto was very good and quick replies. Hope to stay there again in the future.
Alberto gave us all the information needed to easily get to the property. He greeted us at the vaporetto stop and showed us the way to the apartment giving us some history about the surroundings.
The apartment is spacious and very safe. It is located very close to both Arsenale and Giardini Biennale exhibits. Given it is close to a marine base, WIFI will not work in the flat. Overall very satisfied, will return.
Thank you Alberto, we had a great time at your apartment!
Alberto is a great host: he met us at the water bus station, and gave us lots of useful tips re places to visit, restaurants etc. The apartment is great, really big and light, well equipped too (the description was accurate). The location is great- only 15 min walk from San Marco square, and 3 min walk from the water bus. The area is relatively quiet (less touristic), yet has some really great restaurants/bars. I would definitely recommend this place.
Alberto was great, he met us at the vaporetto stop and walked us to the apartment and told us how to get to many places, where to eat, where to get groceries, etc.
The apartment was in a great location! We loved wandering around the neighborhood and found several good restaurants close by. It was much quieter than the central area, but still only a 15 min walk to San Marco and only a couple minutes from the Arsenale vaporetto stop. Very quiet, quiant, and convenient neighborhood.
The house itself was fine, very simple, had everything we needed for having breakfast at home. It was a little damp and smelly in the bathroom, but overall a good stay.
We really liked this flat, & would gladly stay here again. The neighborhood is cute & residential, but just a 10-minute walk from the unmissable (incredibly crowded) St. Mark's square. It's amazing how the crowds & stress levels drop away as you cross back into the Castello sestiere!
Our friendly and professional host Alberto met us at the Arsenale vaporetto stop & led us to the apartment. It's just a three-minute walk, but if you're unfamiliar with Venice's winding alleys, you would never find the apartment on your own. He also gave us a quick orientation to the neighborhood & marked our map with highlights.
The comfortable apartment itself is more spacious than it appears from the photos, although the second bedroom is quite small & not very private. (It's suitable for a child; there's also a fold-up bed for a fourth person.) It's wonderfully sunny when you open the shutters. Kitchen is small but fully equipped. Decor is bare-bones, so don't expect a grand movie-style palazzo.
The unit sits on a charming canal-front campo (an open space), where you can get a glimpse of Venetian life. We pulled out a few chairs, some wine & some lovely meat & cheese from the neighborhood market to enjoy the evening scene. (Also, if it's sunny, feel free to hang your hand-washed laundry on the clothesline!)
We weren't there during the Bienniale; however, because this apartment sits just across the canal from the Arsenale, it would be ideally located.
(PS: No wifi, but reasonable cellular data signal from TIM, the local mobile company.)
