The Space

It’s our belief that our place is a link between mind, body and nature ...
Inspired by the natural elements of life,
then by adding a ‘buddha attitude’ twist...
You step into a deeply relaxing sanctuary
where to find a garden of zen-like elegance,
with serene bamboo corners
and buddha statues in all sizes and forms.
Which give an air of serenity to the garden,
all carefully landscaped to harmonize with the natural topography.
Give your body and mind a chance to regain strength and balance ,
as you may choose to indulge in a japanese ofuro ,
or go for an outdoor barrel sauna
- all this, footsteps away from your personal pavilion
which enhance the private ambiance.
Lanterns and candles combine to magical effect at night.
It's a dreamy place to forget (or remember) yourself,
and a happy marriage of ancient wisdoms with modern comforts.
You are steps away from AVENUE VERTE, where it crosses the Forêt de Bray. You can trek or bike in the middle of the nature.
Vigoratum is located in a 1864 “longere normande”, renewed to give you comfort but still preserving the charm of the ancient house in a garden of 5000m2. • This is a wonderful place, where you are really looked after.
A nice place to take a break, nothing to disappoint here and the breakfast is wonderful! Clean, comfortable, charming.
I would love to go back.

  • I absolutely loved staying at Vigoratum.
Jacqueline is such a gracious and wonderful host. You can tell she really cares about the happiness of the people who stay there.
The B&B itself is beautiful. The garden is so calming and peaceful. The room I stayed in was spacious (huge), comfortable and clean.
I had dinner there and it was delicious (try the Brazilian selection - white fish with quinoa and coconut sauce). The spread was huge with an aperitif, appetizer, salad, entree, wine, coffee, cheese and desert (although I was too full from desert).
Breakfast was equally grande and I lacked for nothing. Jacqueline asked what I usually have for breakfast - provided that plus so much more.
I had a massage while there and it was exactly what I needed. Very relaxing. First time I fell asleep during a massage. There is also a sauna and hot tub but I did not use either. Next time.
I highly recommend staying at Vigoratum. I would come back to France just to stay here again. Thank you Jacqueline!

  • Jacqueline gave us a  very nice and friendly reception. The place is in the middle of beautiful farmland. The gardens were lovely. The rooms were great - very comfortable beds. One was large, one was an average size. Lovely antique style bathrooms. It's rustic, and well laid out. The meals laid on by Jacqueline were lovely, accompanied by lots of wine! Highly recommended.

  • We stayed at Vigoratum for one night en route from London to Paris. I can't recommend Vigoratum enough: Our hosts were welcoming and interesting people who made us feel really at home; the accommodation was perfect-a gorgeous large house, impeccably clean and comfortable, surrounded by the most divine garden; and the food (dinner and breakfast prepared by our host) was delicious. Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to take advantage of the spa and massage facilities, but will certainly return to do so. As well as all this, it was really fantastic value for money. We have recommended it to all our friends!

  • Traveling down for a friends wedding the following we we were looking for a quick place to stop off the other side of Calais and I found the Vigoratum B&B. Unfortunately over-estimating our driving prowess we arrived very late and then had trouble finding the B&B (our fault!) so had to wake up our incredibly nice hostess at 3am in the morning (thank goodness Vigoratum don't get to rate their guests!). Jacqueline was even charming at that hour and showed us to a very nice and simple room with some excellent designer details which we enjoyed for all of 3 minutes before falling asleep.

We we then up early and were greeted with a delicious French breakfast of fresh fruit, pain au chocolate, croissants, cereal; everything one could ask for! Jacqueline again was the perfect hostess and showed us all the things we would be missing by speeding off such as the awesome new hot tub and sauna. Very cool indeed!

Unfortunately for us we weren't able to stay for longer but thoroughly enjoyed the time we did spend there and can highly recommend it to other people.

  • Cycling to Paris, my friend and I decided to stay at Vigoratum because it was conveniently located on the way from Dieppe... but mostly because looked so good in the pictures. Upon arrival we high-fived each other for the first 2hrs because it was actually MUCH more beautiful than the pictures. A stunning French country chateau next to wood and farmland.
As a guest, you have half the house to yourself (including dining room andTV room w big fireplace) and access to internet, movies, TV as well as the beautiful outdoor spa and sauna (almost like being in a wine barrel). We opted to have dinner in house and WOW were we glad we did - a 3course meal of fresh and locally sourced produced cooked by Jacqueline herself (shes VERY good in the kitchen). Breakfast was also a huge spread and because of the amazing time we had relaxing in the huge country mansion, along with the unparalled hospitality of this lovely couple, we nearly cancelled our bike trip to Paris just so we could stay for longer.
I honestly could not recommend a better country stay anywhere in the world. I want to fly back to Europe just so I can relax here again.

  • With bike stands in the safe garage, a comfortable bed, a lovely hot shower, a bottle of gorgeous body lotion, a great breakfast and the option to order a hot meal, Vigoratum was the perfect place for us to relax after the first leg of our cycle ride along the Avenue Verte from Dieppe to Paris. Jacqueline and her husband were even kind enough to come and pick us up (with our bikes!) when we had trouble finding them. (If you're cycling Donald Hirsch's route, stay on it until just before point C on Sheet 3 and then use your road map to navigate the last 2 or 3 km).

  • Coming back to Vigoratum on the return leg of our cycle trip to Paris was like coming home. We drank local cider in the garden before dinner and laid plans to come back to stay for a few nights. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality Jacqueline, Luc (sp?) and Lex.

  • Fantastic! We had pretty high expectations Vigoratum but even these were totally exceeded. The room was fantastic, the hot tub and sauna were wonderful and Jacqueline was a warm and friendly host. We will be back!
