Interaction with Guests
The hosts are multilingual and live upstairs, so the attention is personalized and uninterrupted.
In this varied neighborhood, native Chaunís , Riffians, Moroccans from Fez and Tangier, and foreigners like us, live in perfect harmony in a friendly and safe environment .
The houses and shops are always open; children play in the streets, artisans show their workshops, mountain women display their products (all organic) ...
Chefchaouen’s vibrant Medina has preserved its authenticity and it is becoming one of the most visited not only by foreigners but by the same Moroccans who see it as a jewel of their culture and their idiosyncrasies.
Cars are not allowed in the Medina.
If coming by car we will tell you where to leave it.
If coming by bus it is best you take a petit-taxi to the Medina as the bus station is on the bottom of the valley.
Other Things to Note
Chefchaouen deserves a couple of days stay so you can literally get lost in its unique streets and many shops.
It is also very interesting to devote another day visiting Akchour at the Talassemtane National Park, (only a 45 minute drive) to enjoy nature at its purest state… a lasting memory for children and adults.
For the more adventurous, there are trekking routes across the mountains which can last from 1 to 5 days. Guides and lodges available in situ.

Thank you very much Nieves and Ricard!!
Ricardo & Nieves are amazing hosts and represent the essence of airbnb hospitality! We were sick for most of our time in beautiful Chefchaouen, but couldn't have imagined a better place to recuperate.
House: Absolutely gorgeous and so much attention to detail was made when Nieves and Ricardo renovated this lovely home overlooking the Medina and mountains of Chefchaouen. My room and even the other rooms which I saw are super cute and very comfortable. Even though it was a bit cold for me (I have been living in Ghana, West Africa for the past 2 years), I enjoyed reading my book on the terrace in the sun. When night fell, Ricardo and his son built a fire for me because they knew I was cold here but once I was snuggled into the comforter on the bed, I kept warm and slept well both nights.
Hosts: Nieves and Ricardo are both just very lovely people and I enjoyed speaking with them about various things. Nieves offers excellent breakfasts and the fresh-squeezed orange juice is delicious. I am still dreaming of the fresh yogurt with apples that was offered to me the first morning. She was also very kind to launder my clothes. This may not seem like a big deal to most travelers but as a Peace Corps volunteer from Ghana who has had to hand wash her own clothes over the last 2 years, this was the best gift I could have been given!
Ricardo was very helpful in pointing out landmarks to make it easy to find the house as well as providing a map to show the areas of interest around the Medina. He also advised which restaurants were less touristy and more geared for locals. He also helped me to book a bus ticket back to Casablanca which left early in the morning when it was still dark outside - and because of the early time, he even packed me a breakfast to-go and drove me into Chefchaouen city centre to the bus station since no tacos were yet operating.
I'm very grateful for the warm welcome and open arms offered by Nieves and Ricardo. Because of them, and of course the beauty of Chefchaouen, I want everyone to go to see this place and to stay in their wonderful home.
Thank you so much!!
Originally I only booked one night with Nieves and Ricardo but one night is not enough. I stayed an extra night to enjoy the beauty of Chefchaouen and relax a little bit. I was not disappointed!
This is exactly why I love Airbnb! Great hosts and a great place! Ricardo was very helpful in providing information even before I arrived. The house is in a great location in the Medina and Ricardo gave me really great tips regarding eat out places and exploring around in general. Both Nieves and Ricardo are amazing hosts and I had great conversations with them during my stay. Chefchaouen is beautiful and staying at Ricardo and Nieves' place will make it an even greater experience! I would definitely stay here if I visit Chefchaouen again. Thanks Nieves and Ricardo! :)

We are a Spanish couple who, after travelling the world over, decided to live a simple life in this small Moroccan town. For us it is beautiful to be able to enjoy this simplicity and, when we`ve had enough, we jump on a plane and fly to New York, Berlin, Delhi or another crowed place. We have friends all over the world and now, through airbnb, we can meet more people without leaving our home.
