The space
Designed and hand built by our family, our chalet-style cabin gazes peacefully upon Fisher Lake, nestled in the heart of rural Nova Scotia.

We aim to create a space where recharging the soul and embracing life's simple pleasures is possible while discovering a region of Nova Scotia few take time to explore.

Be seduced by nature and allow your senses to reawaken with kaleidoscope sunsets, a bonfire's crackling dance and savouring meals alfresco. Start each morning with the aroma of the forest and the sensation of the lake's fresh water on your skin.

The lake becomes your companion here - whether snuggled up by the indoor wood stove, swaying to the music from the record player or drifting off to sleep in the King bed, its shimmering waters are never far from view.

With only a handful of cottages scattered around the lake, soak in all the charms of country living in a slow paced atmosphere. We have lovely seasonal neighbours to the right, yet our properties are separated by the tree line, providing everyone space & privacy.

In exchange for leaving behind wifi, steady cell service, shops and street lights, you welcome the experience of starry skies, fireflies, stillness and fresh air.

Be it a relaxing reset, romance, adventure - or a little mix of it all, a lake escape is truly what one makes it!

An open concept design with knotty pine ceilings; we aim to capture an extended feeling of home, simplicity & nostalgia here at Luna Rosa.

To help focus on relaxing and unplugging, there is not much you need bring along, save your food, drinks, swimsuits and water floats!

The Chalet is equipped with the luxuries of electricity, a kitchen, 3-piece bathroom and running hot & cold water.

We encourage you to bring your water floats, kayaks, canoes or S'UP boards - Fisher Lake makes for lovely sunrise/sunset paddles. If renting a boat is of interest, we can put you in contact with MV Outfitters before you arrive to arrange a rental for your visit.

Other things to note
➢ WATER CONSERVATION

---- The Chalet operates on a well and water conservation is essential.

Guests are kindly asked to embrace this practice of rural life and follow the steps we have in place. Here is how we make it simple & stress free while on vacation!

✔ We supply plenty of clean water for all your drinking and cooking needs. You will be stocked for your entire stay; no need to worry about lugging it along - we do that for you! =)

✔ Well water only supplies the toilet, sinks and quick rinses in the shower. Please limit showers/showering time and opt to use the "pause" button on the shower head to pause the water flow while shampooing/lathering up.

✔ Tap water can be used for washing your dishes. Please use the provided sink plugs and DO NOT let the tap water run freely while washing/rinsing dishes.

✔ During times of extreme drought, we will provide water for washing & rinsing dishes. We will inform you prior to check-in if this practice is in place.

✔ Rest assured, we monitor the well level closely; no guest is at risk of running low on water when following the steps.

✔ As precaution during dry spells, (typical June - early Autumn), we are lucky to have the ability to replenish the well using fresh water from the lake, if needed. The benefits of living lakeside! ♥

✔ The well top-up would happen automatically, via a timer - please do not touch or unplug this device or the extension cord if they are in place.

➢ CELL SERVICE

---- This is THE chance to unplug! As in most parts of rural Nova Scotia, cell service is available yet limited at Fisher Lake.

Your success at placing calls/texts and using your data at the Chalet will largely depend on your service provider. (Bell, Telus/Public Mobile are all quite reliable).

The strongest cell reception is at the lake entrance, which is 200m from our doorstep.

Sometimes calls can be made from our property, yet the lake entrance (which is at a higher elevation) is your best bet. If in Upper Musquodoboit (12 min away) or Sheet Harbour (20 min away) picking up supplies, know cell service is excellent.

There is NO Wifi here - it can truly an unplugged experience if you wish for it to be!

(If looking for WiFi now and then throughout your stay, WiFi is readily available in the village of Sheet Harbour, a 20 min +/- drive away).

➢ THE INDOOR WOOD STOVE

---- Our indoor wood stove keeps you warm & cozy while at the Chalet; it's such a treat!

---- Keep in mind, this is the primary source of heating the space and one should be comfortable using the stove or capable and willing to learn. (We'll happily show you!).

---- Plenty of dry wood + kindling will be supplied for your entire stay.
.

➢ NO PETS - No exceptions.

.
➢ RURAL NOVA SCOTIA

---- Luna Rosa Chalet is located off of Highway #224; halfway between Sheet Harbour and Upper Musquodoboit.

---- Don't forget! The Spring/early Summer brings the return of the mosquito to Nova Scotia. If you enjoy the outdoors, this comes as no surprise to you. =)

..... The lake breeze generally keeps them at bay, yet we recommend everyone bring their favourite bug repellent; especially if exploring nearby waterfalls and hiking!

.
➢ ADDITIONAL GUESTS

---- Pricing is based on a 2-guest occupancy; the Chalet can host a maximum of 4 guests.

Please notify us at least 24 hrs in advance of anyone wishing to join you lakeside. This is of great help so we can ensure the Chalet is properly prepared and stocked for everyone's enjoyment and comfort; this is very important to us!

Arriving with guests not included on your reservation is unacceptable and forfeits your rental agreement.

Please note: A small nightly rate for additional guests is applied when more than 2 guests occupy the Chalet.

.
➢ WEATHER --- No refunds for cancellations - or - last minute reservation modifications due to poor, adverse or extreme weather conditions forecast or occurring during one's stay. (ie: rain, high heat, etc.).

.
➢ SWIMMING

----The lake is wonderful for swimming mid June - mid September; at which time our floating dock is placed in the water.

---- If visiting while it is onshore, know our property is front & centre to the lake, still offering wonderful views of the water.
