David made us feel very welcome and went out of his way to accommodate our arrival despite having other things on his agenda. The place was clean and in a good location, close to a very popular area for locals to hang out. Walking the stairs took some getting used to as I'm an elevator type, but it wasn't bad. I especially appreciated the driver being available to take me back to the airport.
Recomento e certamente voltarei.
Obrigada David por sua gentileza. Deus te abençoe.
David is an excellent host and his welcoming and care throughout made our Salvador-stay very pleasant! The apartment is nice, neat and tidy and located in a great spot for what we were after.
Easy living for 4 people, great views and only short strolls to nice local restaurants and bars - or a bit a longer walk to get into the tourist areas.
Very informative and well-written "house manual" with excellent tips on things.
Our sincere recommendation for a family of four or two couples.
Thanks David - hope to cross path again soon!
My experience in Salvador, Bahia was wonderful. I stayed at David's apartment in Rio Vermelho. The apartment was beautiful as promised. In addition, he went the extra mile by providing a booklet regarding tips on where to go and it's purpose. I strongly recommend to stay at this apartment simply because it was in great condition and provided a beautiful view of the beach. Thank you for your exceptional service.
It was the fist time I booked an apartment through Airbnb and I was a bit uneasy. All my fears were baseless.
The communication with the host before arriving in Salvador was easy and fast.
The apartment is located in Rio Vermelho neighbourhood, just in front of Praia da Paciência beach. The description the owner gives in Airbnb is accurate.
Bus stop at 100 meters (10-15 minutes ride to Barra. 25-30 to Pelourinho). Taxis available at Largo de Santana square. Several bars and restaurants at walking distance.
David, the host, is super efficient and very caring. Even if we didn't meet him personally, we talked by phone and stayed in contact by mail several times.
He asked all our questions and requests at lightning speed. F.i, the air-conditioned broke down one evening. In less than 24 hours it was fixed (and believe me, air-conditioned is a must in Salvador)
In short, great experience, lovely apartment and EXCELLENT host.
Thank you very much, David!!

About the Host, David
I'm from Sydney, Australia, and live in Salvador, Brazil, with my beautiful Bahian wife Angela Paula and our spirited Aussie-Brazilian kids Rafael and little sister Eva. A lawyer and economist by training, I left management consulting over ten years ago, joining a nonprofit organization working across Africa and Latin America, before meeting my wife and settling here in the city that is the perfect expression of African soul and Latin American rhythm, melded during centuries into the truly unique cultura baiana. We love offering free advice to all visitors so that you can enjoy the well-kept secrets of Salvador; eg. live jazz at sunset at the restored customs house overlooking Bahia de Todos os Santos, Salvador’s best ice cream on the old seafront at Ribeira, or watching the ‘gente bonita’ (beautiful people) and tackling a great surf break at a classic beach bar on the northside of the city, and – of course – all the best live music events and festivals for which the city is renowned. Seja bem-vindo!
