Cozy condo to yourself! SAN DIEGO

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Broadway, San Diego, CA 92102, United States

When you book our Condominium for your San Diego vacation the entire place (two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, living room, and parking space) is entirely to yourself and your group. It is not shared with others.

Location:
We are located in the San Diego neighborhood of Golden Hill. Click on the "Map" tab next to "photos" and you will see that the West side of Golden Hill borders with Downtown, the North borders the quaint neighborhood of South Park, and the South are the entrances to the freeway.
Our cute, spacious and clean condominium is less than two miles from downtown San Diego. 15 minutes from the airport. Don't have a car? The flat is in a prime location, with a bus stop right around the corner. It's a 10 minute bus ride into downtown, or a $10 cab ride to great restaurants, shopping, and clubs in the Gaslamp district or a Padres game at Petco Park. We are two exits on the freeway from the bridge to Coronado Island. A 10 minute drive to Sea World, all the famous beaches such as Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach, Mission Beach.
If the terrain wasn't so hilly you'd be able to walk to San Diego's version of "Central Park" called Balboa Park and the Famous San Diego Zoo, but I'd recommend you take the five minute drive/$10 cab fare so you don't end up passing out from the hike. At Balboa you can stroll down the famous Prado and visit one of the many museums.
We live two blocks away from 28th St. and B St where every Saturday there's a Farmers Market and a Starbucks, a mailing center. It's 4 to 6 blocks from the local restaurants in the quaint neighborhood of South Park. And 5 blocks from Luigi's Pizza on 25th and B St. that was featured in the Food Network, Diners, Drive-In's, and Dives.

The Space:
The Flat itself is AWESOME. Not only is it cutely decorated, it's got all wood floors and an up-graded kitchen. Our prices may be as cheap as a Motel, but you get EXPONENTIALLY more with two bedrooms, a spacious bathroom, a designated parking space, washer/dryer, a well equipped Kitchen, free wi-fi, television, a huge living/dinning room considering hotel standards, plus a swimming Pool/Jacuzzi.
We have everything you need like towels, blankets, sheets, stationary, detergent for the washer/dryer. The kitchen is well-equipped with pots and pans, cooking utensils, dish-ware, spices, cutlery, some appliances.
For those with Babies we are the only ones in town with a portable crib. We also have baby toys/books/towels/blankets, if you ask us in advance we can provide you with a stroller.
For those coming with a big party we have a queen bed, a twin, a couch that converts into a queen, plenty of sleeping space.
We recently replaced our kitchen cabinets and up-graded our counters to granite.

We're really great hip hosts. Shane is in the Coast Guard and I clean, book, and update our Airbnb rental which allows me to be a full time mom.

Car2Go : I highly recommend Car2Go, a car-sharing service, if you want to use you should request a membership card on their website, a few weeks before your visit to use while in SD (or Portland, Austin, DC, Miami). Its a cheap and convenient alternative to expensive taxi rides and rent a cars.

Your host, Ericka

  • Thanks Shane and Ericka, while they weren't able to meet us, check in was easy and communication was great. Condo itself was great, exactly what we needed (especially with a washer and dryer). Condo was clean. Everything was so close and tips and maps provided in the condo were excellent. Everything was only a 15-20 minute drive away (including sea world and Coronado beach). Downtown and gaslamp quarter were straight down broadway if driving and taxis were cheap getting there. Millers grocery store was literally a two second walk if you go out the back entrance and has everything you need. We felt very secure staying here as it is gated and secured entry. Definitely recommend staying here, especially if you have a car and a family.

  • We just finished our stay June 19-24 and my wife and I loved the condo. Shane was very easy to get a hold of when we had an issue accessing the condo and sent help within 5 minutes. The condo is very comfortable and cozy. It had everything we could have needed. The neighborhood is very quiet and quick drive many good restaurants. We definitely recommend this condo.

  • The place was nice. it was very spacious and had everything we needed. One thing that bothered us was the noise. you can hear all the airplanes. I think the windows were a little too thin. The neighborhood was quiet.

  • We stayed at Shane's place in the beginning of June and it was such a pleasure! The space was perfect for my daughter and I, very comfortable. The location was great...we ate several times near by at City Pizza and Station Tavern...both very good. Shane and his wife were very responsive any time I had a question. I would definitely stay again.

  • We loved our stay at Shane and Ericka's condo. It was a nice place, and very conveniently located for all the things we wanted to do while in San Diego. They provided easy check-in instructions. We also really appreciated the binder of restaurant recommendations. Our 2 year old daughter especially loved all the books and toys in the 2nd bedroom. Overall, a great place to stay.

  • The room is tidy and amazing. Also I like searching the key and the swimming pool. Everything is so great and more than I can image. The only thing i will suggest is installing the air condition instead of fan.

  • The apartment is spacious, clean, and well equipped for families looking for a nice central location within San Diego. Everything is as described in the posting.

Big Bonus were the toddler friendly space and supplies (play-pen, toys, books, stroller, etc) all in great condition. The entertainment options are user friendly.

All the furnishings and appliances are in excellent condition. We didn't cook so the kitchen amenities were not tested on our trip, but the kitchen appeared to be well stocked. We did not use the pool so no comment.

The location is near major freeways and maybe 10-15 minutes to the downtown, San Diego zoo, and airport. Within a relatively quiet working class neighborhood w/ secured entree and parking. Communication w/ the host was easy, prompt, and convenient. We had no issues and our stay was fabulous.

Hi Dan thank you so much for the feedback. It really helps us to improve things. In regards to the perfume. Do you think it was the smell of the laundry or the smell of the cleaning products used to clean the condo?

We will definitely act on all of your great suggestions. Thanks again!

  • Shane was a great, communicative host. His response time to texts was basically instant. The place was incredible, too! I feel like it's a traveler's haven with the wall map and notes everywhere (you'll understand when you see it!!). Awesome reservation, would definitely use them again.

  • Ericka and Shane's place was awesome! This was my first time with airbnb and whole process with Ericka and Shane was smooth and response was quick. I arrived San Diego late evening and I thought that it was hard to check-in, but they let met know the process so quick that I could rest in cozy condo that night.

I used to stay hotels, but I felt more comfortable in their place. Cozy condo was clean and everything is in order. There was a free wi-fi and it was really fast one. I could feel Ericka and Shane's touch in every detail in their house , which makes their place so "Cozy".

The place located near freeway and it was easy to access anywhere in San Diego. Nice and Awesome!

About
We have been married since 2008. After our wedding we traveled around Argentina and Europe for a few months. Our first baby boy was born in 2011. We enjoy skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, board games, and eating at good restaurants. Our extended family is quite large and we try to get together with them every summer. We are currently renting out our two bedroom one bathroom condominium on airbnb year round because we bought a home. Lately we are traveling a lot because of our business. Ericka is a neat freak and is obsessed with organizing. We are vegetarians learning more about being vegan, we are huge advocates for Zero Waste, and we love San Diego and wouldn't live anywhere else.
