Aloha. Our home is a quaint space located on the rising ridge line of Oahu's Ko'olau Mountain range. From this vantage point you will have a spectacular view of the Island of Oahu, the crystal clear waters of paradise and an epic sunset each evening. Make sure to look for the green flash. **If you need more than one room we have a second room available for guests at the same rate as the room in this ad - (Go see our other ad "Hawaii Home Overlooking Paradise II).
The home is minutes from restaurants and shops in Kaimuki, which is a clean, safe and friendly neighborhood in Honolulu. Waikiki, beautiful beaches, warm waters and parks are a couple miles distance. If you like a good walk you can walk it as its downhill all the way. Just keep in mind the walk back is uphill. Plenty of safe street Parking is available for those who have a rental car. We suggest renting as its the quickest and most effective means to tour the island of Oahu. If you do prefer the bus, the bus stop is just around the corner. The home is close enough to Waikiki and the tourist market, but far enough removed for peace and quiet.
**If you are planning to rent to car, in addition to the standard rental companies, you can also check RELAY RIDES. Relay Rides is very similar to AirBnB in that an individual owner rents out his or her extra vehicle. The fees are typically lower than that of a corporate rental company. Do a quick (website hidden) search and you'll easily find Relay Rides.
The bedroom is available in our three bedroom home. Plenty of pantry and refrigerator space if you prefer to cook and eat in. A shard bathroom is available for guests; we rent out two rooms-"Check out Hawaii Home Overlooking Paradise I". There is one shower in the home that we all share.
Lastly, let me introduce 'us'. My name is Sean and 'this' is Erin. We are both professionals, I work in higher education at a local university and Erin works in the insurance field. We are both outgoing, social and athletic. We both surf and paddle outrigger canoes. If you are looking to try your luck at surfing we can lead you in the right direction. If you want to do a bit of paddling, we have the right connections. Hikes, we know of many. If you simply want to hit the beach and relax, we know the spots for you. At night we are relaxed; either reading, playing guitar or occasionally watching a netflix on the computer via wifi. We seldom hang around in the house as in paradise there are many other worthwhile things to do. Let see, what else....I am originally from Chicago and have resided in Hawaii for 7 years. Erin is originally from Hawaii (Kailua). Anyway, Erin and I occasionally travel from time to time, so we know what it's like to be in your shoes.
If you want to see some videos we made of one of our Hawaiian adventures check us out on YouTube. You'll need to copy and paste the titles into the your (website hidden) Search window or the YouTube seach window. AirBnB will block all links, phone numbers and e-mails until a reservation is made. We enjoyed our stay with Sean and Erin. They were very helpful in finding places to eat and where we should visit on the island. We loved the view from their place and they are close by distance to hwy 1.
Dear Airbnb'ler. We stayed for one night with Sean, Erin and little Kelly : ) and it was a welcoming experience. As we arrived a bit a late at night we did not get to meet Erin, but Sean is super welcoming, nice, relaxed and helpful.
As previous reviews mentioned, the view is not exaggerated it is really astounding. The location of their place up the hillside reminded me a lot of San Francisco. The only drawback of the place is the bed, as it is quite hard (futon style) and squeaky, so better pack some earplugs. But I am sure Sean & Erin will improve on that.
But beside that we absolutely enjoyed staying with them and I can totally recommend staying at their place!
Thanks again Sean, Erin and Kelly
I spent one night with Sean & Erin passing through Oahu. It was wonderful and I have rarely felt as warmly welcome anywhere as I did in their home which is indeed blessed with a superbe view over Honolulu. Sean really goes the extra mile to facilitate your stay. The room is basic and everything works well. The flat is a bit tucked away on the hill in a residential area but highly recommended if you are looking for a quiet break and a good walk. Thank you!
This place is very cool, provides spectacular views, stylish décor. Sean and Erin are super hosts as both are extremly welcoming and full of ideas on what to do around the island. At the same time they are totally relaxed and make you feel that their home is yours, too.
We loved our stay (3 nights) and we'd definitely come back next time we're around. Highly recommended!
We only stayed two nights at Erin&Seans place, but it was exactly what we were looking for.
Good location, away from the crowds, comfortable bed and nice hosts.
The view over the sunset and the citylights is amazing!
Sean, Erin and little baby boy Kelly are a beautiful happy family! We only spent a night because we had previous arrangements. The view from their apartment is breathtaking. I highly recommend their place.
Nice hosts. We stayed at their place for one night, and it was older and basic but fine for the price that we paid. Thank you.
Sean and Erin were wonderful hosts and they have the cutest little newborn too. The view of Waikiki from their place is priceless. I would definitely stay with them once again when I return to Oahu and would definitely recommend their place to others.
Sean and Erin are super nice hosts!!! We just stayed one night but they treated us really well. The view from their house is amazing!!!
Our stay with Sean and Erin was seamless, from the time we arrived to the time we left. Sean was an amazing host and was full of suggestions and ideas of what to do on the island and super fun to talk to! We actually stayed up several nights just all relaxing and chatting in the living room :) The highlight of our trip was the 'ridge hike' along koko head crater, if Sean had not suggested it we would have never known about it because it's off the beaten path of koko head trail. During our entire stay Sean was easily accessible via text messages to suggest places to go or eat. If you're going to Hawaii and don't have a particular itinerary in mind, he's the perfect host and guide to steer you towards an adventure. The accommodations were always very clean and well kept (they even had a BBQ we could take with us to cook the fish we caught!) they also have the most amazing view of downtown at night! We would definitely do a repeat stay with Sean when were in Honolulu again :)
