Enjoy a 1940's barn beautifully renovated into a 4 bedroom, 2 bath home away from home. Downstairs is a family room with sofa bed and two large master suites – each with a queen bed and shared full bathroom. Upstairs has a kitchen w/ island seating, a full bathroom, living room with sofa bed, dining table, and two bedrooms – each with a full-sized bed. Snuggle up into plush white linens and crack open your window for nature's own river lullaby. Play outside with adorable baby miniature goats!

The space
ATTENTION: We would like to note that we are still open for business and accepting reservations. We are taking precautions to keep our home extra sanitized, and as always, sparkling clean and with clean white bed linens and washed-every-time duvet covers. If you are going to need to stay cooped up, it might as well be in a beautiful barn house in the county right? :D Wishing everyone excellent health and happiness.
Sincerely,
Katrina and Mark
The River’s Call Inn

Escape to The River's Call Inn, a one-of-a-kind barn house experience just feet away from the Hungry River, nestled in the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains of Flat Rock, North Carolina.

A SIMPLER TIME
Relax and let the river's song sooth your soul from every bit of the 10.5 acre property. Enjoy the pattering of the evening rain on the tin roof, while rockin' away your blues with river-front views on the large old-fashioned covered porch – complete with Adirondack rocking chairs and a delightful moonshine bar. With 734 feet of private river frontage, take an exhilarating dip to cool off, or explore the river bed to hunt for arrowheads or stack rocks. Play a fun-filled game of cornhole, or test your lassoing skills with a lariat and practice steer head. Under a starry-filled night share stories and memories around the fire pit, or join in on an entertaining game of giant black-light Jenga. Escape to the large old-fashioned back porch for a relaxing soak in the hot tub, large enough for five.

THE SMALL TOUCHES
Inside you'll find fun farmhouse decor showcasing barn animals, tasteful lamps, and whitewashed details against crisp, fresh water blue walls. Every bedroom comes with four cushy pillows, an extra blanket, alarm clock, tissues, clothes hangers, trash can, and ceiling fan. Each side of the bed has an end table, lamp, and USB charging port for your phone. A Smart TV is upstairs in the living room with complimentary Netflix and ability to login to other personal streaming accounts. DVD player is provided, as well various DVD movies. Coffee tables lift up for easy dining on each couch. Both the upstairs and downstairs have hair dryers and ironing boards with irons. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash is supplied, and there are several full-length mirrors. Plush white bath towels are provided, as well large outdoor towels for the river and picnics. Many board games and card games are provided for entertainment. Giant black light Jenga and cornhole is available for outdoor fun, as well as a lasso with practice steer head. Unique ☾ moonshine bar on porch provides extra seating and is a terrific backdrop for photos. Fire pit includes eight comfortable adirondack chairs with side tables to easy place your drinks or smores ingredients. Gas grill includes propane and grilling utensils.

PARK-LIKE SETTING
The River's Call Inn is on a 10.5 acre park-like setting that includes river frontage, towering trees, mountains, organic garden, and a mushroom forest. Have fun exploring the grounds! Depending on the season you'll find blueberries, mulberries, peaches, echinacea, mint, sage, shiitake mushrooms, morel mushrooms, giant hibiscus, colorful Japanese maple trees, wildflowers and more. Some of the local wild critters include trout, crawfish, fireflies, turtles, wild turkeys, ducks, squirrels, deer, ground hogs, rabbits, and beautiful birds. Keep an eye out for the morning heron by the river. Rare but possible bear, snake, and bob cat sightings as well!

PETS
The barn house is pet-free to help keep it clean and hypoallergenic. You will probably see two adorable cats out roaming the grounds - Shino and Miss Marilyn. They love to be pet and held, but please don't invite them inside. They have been loving the great outdoors for over 14 years now! You might also see Mark or Katrina out walking Blu, an energetic and handsome Blue Merle Australian Shepherd. Although he is very loving, for now it is better to admire his cuteness from afar, since he is a puppy and is still learning manners.

WIFI + LANDLINE
WIFI is included. Connection is usually good, but is slow and can be spotty, especially during storms. WIFI connection is shared with hosts' home. Cell phone signal is not available, but WIFI calling can easily be activated on most phones cell phone calls. Instructions will be provided. A landline phone is available for emergencies as well.

HOSTS
The hosts are a friendly couple named Mark and Katrina. They have been happily married for 15 years, and are thrilled to now live on their own little slice of heaven. They recently bought this dream property in the summer of 2018. They are excited to grow some green thumbs, and have already started their mini farm with five chickens, one rooster named Elvis, and four miniature baby goats! Hosts' 1920's brick home is approximately 200 feet away from the barn house, mostly hidden behind trees. You might see them out tending to the garden or walking their dog, but they are very respectful of your privacy, and will interact as much or as little as you prefer.
